This summer, I bought a 1988 Chevy C3500, Dually with a 545. It has taken a lot of time, to get fixed up. small stuff like tie rod ends, shocks, transmission, down shift valve and cleaning. nothing big, but adds up on time to fix all of the gremlins in a 36 year old truck. the body is in better shape than my 2001 dodge ram. The hydraulic brake booster was a new one on me. I saw the Truck and Had to have it. I'm old and don't drive very far anymore. It's About going in style now.
and Big Blocks were still Big Blocks! This truck is amazingly solid and every single thing, switch and bulb work on it as did when new. Seats, door panels and all interior bits still solid as a rock. The best part, easily repairable and serviceable still by a home mechanic. Thank you for your interest.
Ive got a 89 GMC K3500 single wheel, not dualy, Ext cab long bed. Factory 454 and Factory Bulldog 4 speed transmission. Its a hoss! I also have 88 GMC K2500 Ext. Cab long bed body on 88 and 89 is the same except 88 has 4 headlights and 89 has 2 headlights. 350 with a Bulldog 4 speed trans and its my work truck and its a beast. I got a whole load of firewood on it right now i need to unload and oh yeah i do except vokunteers. Their great trucks back when they made real trucks!
we like that 4-speed option. Those days are gone too, sadly. It's our understanding that the WT (work trucks) had two headlights and the upper trim levels all had four. Thanks for sharing with us!
@classicperformance Yes sir the 4 speeds were and are good trans but they put the 5 speeds and now 6 etc for better fuel mileage. But I like my 4 speeds. My buddy I got both trucks from many has said has the largest Square body Chevys Junk yard in Tn and he told me he has never had anybody come needing a Bulldog trans cause theirs went bad. Thanks for the info on the headlights I had never heard that I preciate it. I'm just starting on getting the 89 going the fuel pump is bad but it's not beatup and abused. I've got a 94 Dodge Ram 2500 all original I'm selling. 5.3 5 speed. New Quality paint job 2 tone red and silver like factory. Original chrome wheels and it's never been off road 4 wheeling. Many new parts and 139,000 original miles. Sharp and good truck. $8500.00 if you might know someone looking for a real nice truck. Thanks for getting back to me I realy preciate it buddy.
@classicperformance Yes sir I feel like it's a honest and fair price and maybe somebody looking for a real good sharp truck that maybe can't afford a expensive truck will get it. I'm only selling it cause I wasn't looking for another truck but I went to my buddy cause his son had a steel bumper that fits my Dodge and their hard to find a used one and I went to look and bought it and then he showed me the 89 GMC and I thought that will go with my 88 and so I bought it. So I'm only selling Dodge cause I don't need 3 trucks and to put the money into the 89. I know it's been a while but you still got your GMC it was a good one?
I would never sell. Better than anything sold today. I drive my wife's inherited 84 c10 silverado. Dual gas tank. Crate 350. Take it over anything new today. And my 71 delta 88 convertible
eBay. Easy to put on w three nuts on studs. Have marker lights in the front and backup projector bulbs on the mirror side or can be hooked up to courtesy lights.
@@classicperformance you're welcome. No joke . Always have had a true love for duallys, I drive for a living, when I retire will get a dually, hope it's nice like yours. Hard to find them not abused or horribly altered.
It can tow about anything hooked to it. As far as equipment, you would most likely have a gooseneck trailer and the capacities vary upon what gears it has. Pin weight is not to exceed 3,000 per 10,000 GVR limit. 3.42.....13,500 lbs 3.73.....15,000 lbs 4.10.....17,000 lbs 4.56.....19,000 lbs
Here's what it has: The factory manifolds, pipes, cats, and cut before the dual in muffler which was single out adding two vertical Flowmaster 40s and two outlets. No crossover, No X pipe and no H pipe. Actually really quiet in the cab.
I own 3 of these bad boys. All have the 454. 98 extended cab 2 wd. Mint 42k miles. 95 4X4 extended cab 161K miles (runs like a champ) and a 2000 4X4, 4 door, 8' bed 115K miles runs like a champ. 454 motor picks up these heavy trucks and moves it down the road no problem. Gas mileage? Well, lets just say its not good. I get about 8 and 11. But I love the trucks and any of the gas savers on the road better not pull out in front of me. You know, blow a stop sign or red light. That will be their last mistake.
This one was a real find. Paint came out beautiful too! and the interior as if it was never sat in. They're out there still... Thanks for the interest! Check out our other videos on the 3500 truck.
@classicperformance if you know anybody that might be interested in this truck I would love to talk! 1994 Dodge Ram 2500 single cab long bed. New Quality Red and Silver factory 2 tone paint. 5.3 5 speed trans. 139000 actual miles All original! Factory chrome wheels Nice truck I've put a lot of new parts just normal maintenance It's NEVER been off road!!!! $9,000.00 I will take $8,500.00 to help with distance if somebody wants it but no less. Great truck!
Beautiful truck. I love the OBS GMC/Chevy trucks. I hate the color though. I have a ‘98 GMC K3500 ext cab long bed with the 454. I also have a ‘96 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 5.9 Cummins ext cab long bed, she’s my daily. My GMC is my heavy tow pig. The Ram has a manual transmission and it’s red with black interior and the GMC has the automatic transmission and it is black with maroon interior.
Technically, my GMC isn’t a Sierra. It has no badges, GMC 3500, GMC truck, SLE nothing. Only the steering wheel and grille has GMC on it. Up until 1999, Silverado, Sierra, Sierra classic, custom deluxe, Cheyenne, Scottsdale were trim level. GM dropped them all except Silverado and Sierra but they aren’t trims anymore.

Sounds like a great project, Steve. Appreciate your input and hearing about your project!
I absolutely love this truck. Love the older trucks from the 90's.
Thanks LS1 Power. We might be selling it soon. Been a great one! Stay tuned to the channel!! Thanks for your interest.
@@classicperformance Did you sell the truck? Or is still available for sale?
My uncle used to say “I want a a Chevy 454.. four door, four on the floor,…. Dually”
I fucking get it now
Enjoy it. Have a 95 GMC 3500 dually 454 2wd. I love it!
Right on!
Yours would be a C3500 it being 2wd. 4wd is a K3500
@@classicperformance I have a 1995 C3500 that has been made into a 4 speed manual low geared 7.4 pump gas.
Beautiful! Looking to buy a dually around the same year if you have any more.
Will do!
What size tires were on it when you bought it? I love the way they look on the stock wheels.
285 75 16 comes to mind.
When the trucks were real work trucks. Greatness

It's not a square body.......... It's a OBS !!!!
I agree, 3rd time I have heard someone call the OBS a Square body in the last couple weeks. What's wrong with these folks?

Square bodies ended in 1987. This is a K3500 classic old body style. Also known as GMT400.
Thanks for the info, William!! Appreciate the interest! It's been a great truck!
What size are the tires?
I forgot, and have sold the truck. They were 16" 75 aspect ratio but I can't remember the number. A guess.... 265/75/16.

I bought one 2016 for 4k… I put black rims on mine. WORST mistake I’ve made. Makes it look UGLY and broken down…
I have not been a fan of black rims on a dually or heavy truck. I agree. Thanks for the interest.
