What people don't get, fireballs aren't some god tier move, they just deny movement. Some characters deal more damage some characters have more ways to control the battlefield.
@GamingFreaksHD I don't feel like Daigo's Akuma is as bad as a lot of you are making it out to be. Sure, he's not super aggressive, but you could clearly see Daigo adapting to what Juso was doing during the match. He got aggressive when he felt he needed it too. Juso was also adapting rather well to Daigo's playstyle.
Do people still complain about "fireball spam"? People, Daigo is playing godlike defense, appreciate it. In fact in sf4 it's harder to play good defense than offense. To be a good defensive player you have to constantly think about what your opponent is doing, what they want to do, get perfect spacing, etc. To play good offense with some characters you just need to mindlessly do dive kicks or seismos until you force your way in, then dial a mixup until you win.
As you all may have guessed-it wasn't Daigo. It was his friend, inside his body, playing as Akuma, while giving him head, and texting on the phone about what was going on to Daigo, while he was inside of his body...
@Rue666 Yup. Cuz he's Tokido. He's a very famous player and the best Akuma in the world. He's been playing Akuma for a long time too so I'm sure he has a lot to tell Daigo.
@talabax69 I was hoping I could refer you to the videos on the right side but those aren't it. It was at the exact same tournament (NSB X MadCatz). Just typ in Diago vs Eita NSB X madcatz and you should be G2G. :)
@AzpecTProductionz good to know. I almost fell asleep too but its Daigo's akuma which is rare to see so i stayed awake. Whats worse is dieminion playing lol
@Valorios I think his style as it is; is a nice balance of defense and offense. Opinions aside though, his playstyle has done pretty well by him so far.
I know Daigo plays to win but man, his matches are best to watch when his opponent has a life lead. Great Sakura play. I wonder if Uryo keeps playing Sakura in AE 2012.
@toouuyy I don't know why you are on Daigo tbh. Who would you like to play between 2 characters; a top or bottom tier? This is tournament, they don't wanna show how skill they are, they plays to win.
daigo is going through the momochi and tokido stage when Vanilla was new. they too had a turtle style, with zero vortex. as they got comfortable with akuma they became very aggresive. i believe daigo's gouki will soon be a vortex maniac as he gets more comfortable with him
Not sure why I'm an idiot... Akuma is pretty well known as a top tier character who has a match-up advantage over a lot of other fighters (not like Seth or Cammy, but he's still pretty damn good). Sakura is in the middle and doesn't have a match-up advantage over as many fighters as Akuma does. I played a lot as both characters. I really would like to see Daigo play as Sakura one day because I think he could bring a lot to the character since he's so skilled.
I like how when the guy does super with sakura, Daigo just nods while when Daigo lands the u2, this guy has his mouth open nodding like a bobblehead lol love their expressions :D
@Sephirothsmaster i use sakura very well on xbox SneakyAssassinO is the gamertag and yeah i felt like daigos opponent should of won but he did freeze up at the end
Not to mention Daigo has been winning at SF tourneys back when all Microsoft made was Windows 95 and when these kids were still in elementary school reading Dr. Seuss.
Exactly how I would have played as Akuma as well in this matchup. He's playing defensive and zoning because Sakura can't do anything from a distance. If you've played Sakura, you would know how annoying it is to try and get in while dodging fireballs.
You'd probably get more views if you put "AE 2012" in your title. Alot of people, like me, search for that. I didn't find this until I found out Daigo is playing Akuma now and searched for "Daigo Akuma".
Even tho Tokido only won 1 set in the tournament. In my eyes he is still the best Akuma player in Sf4 and JR Rodriguez in Sf3. They only know how to attack and on their day thy both are unbeatable. Still huge respect for Daigo's Akuma
You can check Daigo's statistics on Street Fighter 4 on Xbox live. He doesn't have a xbox so he playing on his friend. I don't recall his xbox live id so find out yourself. He should he the top 10 or something on Xbox.
Not to mention Daigo has been winning at SF tourneys back when all Microsoft made was Windows 95 and not all that plastic RROD x360 junk that people sometimes play SSF4 on.
I didn't even know diago played akuma for some weird reason, thought he was just using Yun all the time, though I'm gathering he's part of the load of people that have dropped him pre-nerf, thank god.
Jeez, even after all these years, Daigo is still the same old expressionless dude. I like how Tokido is next to him giving pointers out like a ref lol. xD
its not so much they hate em its just that everyone knows how good he is and predictably they want to see him lose thats the problem with society once you become big in something it tries to bring you down
@zeroX00 Oddly enough, this is so true! I don't know what it is about korean and japanese commentators but when they start talking really fast and screaming their heads off over Daigo or something, I always get mad hype. lol
Current top tier list according to Kazunoko, a player WAY better than anyone commenting here (including myself, of course): S Cammy, Fei Long, Seth, Adon A Ryu, Vega (Claw), Sagat, C. Viper, Rufus, Ibuki, Makoto, Juri 7 out of 12 don't have any kind of projectile. Ibuki has daggers, not a legitimate fireball, and you don't spam those, so 8 out of 12 don't have a fireball. If fireballs are so cheap, why are they still so prevalent in almost every single fighting game?
Wow good stuff!!! One of the most entertaining sets I've seen in a long time!!!
What people don't get, fireballs aren't some god tier move, they just deny movement. Some characters deal more damage some characters have more ways to control the battlefield.

3:50 4:00 epic!
8:48
Daigo: Yo, that's not a true block string?
No it's AE,
2012 came out in japanese arcades 3rd december and this video was post almost 2 weeks before the release of 2012
@warriorofpeace786 yeah, but there's still hardly a footage of him playing yet.
As you all may have guessed-it wasn't Daigo. It was his friend, inside his body, playing as Akuma, while giving him head, and texting on the phone about what was going on to Daigo, while he was inside of his body...

To see their facial expressions as they play. It adds another dimension to the video.
@StarbugPPP yeah and 8:40 was pretty amazing too. defiantly a great sakura.
I can appreciate a methodical akuma after the constant vortex ones we usually see. Nice change of pace.
@AzpecTProductionz good to know. I almost fell asleep too but its Daigo's akuma which is rare to see so i stayed awake. Whats worse is dieminion playing lol
How difficult is that fierce into ultra combo, or this is just the latest discovery? Never seen tokido does it, although they are in the same team?
@Universe4You is the recovery time that bad he cant do it from full screen?
Also, one of it's usages is to build up the momentum of the game, do you know what momentum is?
@ around 7:35 What is Tokido saying to him? What advice could Daigo possibly need, given that he had just P'd on his opponent :P?
@Valorios I think his style as it is; is a nice balance of defense and offense. Opinions aside though, his playstyle has done pretty well by him so far.
@JMSONE In SFIV because back in Alpha 3 days he plays Akuma a lot in 1998 look for Daigo vs Valle Alpha 3 world finals
I know Daigo plays to win but man, his matches are best to watch when his opponent has a life lead.
Great Sakura play. I wonder if Uryo keeps playing Sakura in AE 2012.
he's got madcatz shirt, track jacket, and fightstick. Madcatz swag.
I didn't know Tim Lincecum played street fighter...
@toouuyy I don't know why you are on Daigo tbh. Who would you like to play between 2 characters; a top or bottom tier? This is tournament, they don't wanna show how skill they are, they plays to win.

According to Daigo's facial expression and movements at 9:24 he put more effort into that free shoryuken than at any other point in the match
was that tokido next to daigo?
@ 4:47 - is he cancelling shouken into Super???
Awesome match, always can learn something from watching pros play. Great fireball zoning tips here.
Did you see the part with the hadoukens? Yeah, neither did I.
Not sure why I'm an idiot... Akuma is pretty well known as a top tier character who has a match-up advantage over a lot of other fighters (not like Seth or Cammy, but he's still pretty damn good). @Sephirothsmaster i use sakura very well on xbox SneakyAssassinO is the gamertag and yeah i felt like daigos opponent should of won but he did freeze up at the end
@hunter2002bow Yeah, yeah i know he's still learning, but when v2012 comes out we will see the real deal.
I noticed that Daigo seems to smile/show more emotion while using Akuma..
Not to mention Daigo has been winning at SF tourneys back when all Microsoft made was Windows 95 and when these kids were still in elementary school reading Dr. Seuss.
Cool to see him play Akuma seriously since Alpha 3.
love the reaction of Juso after the fadc fierce cancel into ultra... he was like, "wow, really."
Why did Juso didn't cancel at the end? he missed it?
@l3ts9o Did you watch the entire video? Not every round was like that...
@Blaze2588 Nah he tried out akuma for a little bit but now he mains ryu.
Tokido told him: "he's blocking on ALL your demon flips, use the GRAB version."
Notice how he starts using them in the following round.
I love how the commentator always screams out Juso's name whenever he makes an awesome play. Adds to the hype!
I have no idea why you felt you needed to reply to my comment in the first place, who reads comments and then replies to them?
Would love to see you spam fireballs against me. What console do you play on?
obviously there are people who do, that's why there's a reply function.
how come he didnt use the red fireball?
Gotta love the focus of the audience
"stop embarrassing him, man." or "Don't go balls out on him using Akuma, you're making me look bad."
XD
He's better off with Yun. I would like to see him use Yun again despite the 2012 changes.
@charlatanbaby how many tournaments won latif ? you don't know any idea that who is playing do you ?
Exactly how I would have played as Akuma as well in this matchup. He's playing defensive and zoning because Sakura can't do anything from a distance. If you've played Sakura, you would know how annoying it is to try and get in while dodging fireballs.

@ThePhantomnaut And CVS2 to an extent.
Even tho Tokido only won 1 set in the tournament. In my eyes he is still the best Akuma player in Sf4 and JR Rodriguez in Sf3. They only know how to attack and on their day thy both are unbeatable. Still huge respect for Daigo's Akuma
That's not Daigo playing, It's Tokido on the side pressing the buttons and Daigo sitting there unemotional like always, right?
is this 2012 version?
what is that frog sponser name
@chrisyan81
It was always possible even in the original Super SFIV. What he did was fierce xx teleport xx ultra 2.
名古屋なのもあって会場がジュソさん応援してて良いな
is this 2012 changes?
yes, maybe but did you at least watch the video ?
@checu100 I think it's his new main for 2012 when yun gets nerfed...
You can check Daigo's statistics on Street Fighter 4 on Xbox live. He doesn't have a xbox so he playing on his friend. I don't recall his xbox live id so find out yourself. He should he the top 10 or something on Xbox.
@etang5 i think so. i think daigo knew juso was gonna make a desperate move.
what's the point in recording their faces?
no more yun for daigo?
I sure wish Momochi would pick up Gouki for 2012. His Gouki was breathless.
Juso the Japanese cousin of Tatsu?
Jeez, even after all these years, Daigo is still the same old expressionless dude. I like how Tokido is next to him giving pointers out like a ref lol. xD
08:45 May i give him another perfect ?
i love how it seems like daigo is still leaning on the fly getting tips from tokido..never seen a gouki play like that..
ah mate, I can't thank you enough for opening my eyes.
true but to a casual viewer, rushing in like an idiot would be more exiting to watch. What's more entertaining, Haye vs. Klitschko or Rocky vs. Drago?
because you're next?
@pringlesday u do not insult Daigo.
its like people hate daigo u know coz every time he does something u never hear people clapping or nothing and i have noticed this on lots of videos
does he still play marvel
its not so much they hate em its just that everyone knows how good he is and predictably they want to see him lose thats the problem with society once you become big in something it tries to bring you down
I still wonder why Akuma is called Gouki in jp...
@ducksseason It was Fierce xx Teleport xx Ultra 2.
wow did he really pin him down that hard in the first round with fireballs? i Think Juso was just nervous...
Not joking: I fell asleep when I was watching this. Just woke back up to let you guys know.
@Dan1104xv is he really?
@zeroX00 Oddly enough, this is so true! I don't know what it is about korean and japanese commentators but when they start talking really fast and screaming their heads off over Daigo or something, I always get mad hype. lol
the dude at 7:40 is giving daigo tips on akuma? :O
3:56 lol daigo's like "oh is that gonna hiiiiiiiiit? oh it did."
which one is daigo?
Wow @ the sec round of the first match.
Daigo is fucking amazing. Pretty humble person.
Current top tier list according to Kazunoko, a player WAY better than anyone commenting here (including myself, of course):
S
Cammy, Fei Long, Seth, Adon
A
Ryu, Vega (Claw), Sagat, C. Viper, Rufus, Ibuki, Makoto, Juri

First attack on round one is given a whopping 37 seconds after the round started...
actually says that?
You're simply the best(Greg)!
Love how the first seconds of the matches is "HADOUKEN" lol
All I saw was Daigo's Akuma evolving from okay pro to godly pro. Near the end he was already just as good as Tokido, jebus.
Daigo changes characters more than his shirt.
