I belong to the very first surfers in Thalkirchen (1975!!). I never had problems to stay in line if the wave was crowded. But I never would consider to pay any money for surfing. I guess the younger surfers - students abd pupils - cannot afford going surfing in your pool. Not to mention the distance from the city. I think, the group of your guests will be limited to people who can afford this. If I compare it with a dayticket when skiing the price is much too high.

The problem will be the high energy consumption in order to generate waves.

How will this ever be profitable. The cost to build has to be enormous.

I’ve never surfed a day in my life but even I could tell you there’s nothing organic or environmentally conscious about surfing in a pool lol. All those fancy engineering degrees would be put to better use designing and building custom artificial reefs with the sole purpose of providing a new habitat for sea life to live and thrive in while also drastically improving wave size and quality at existing beach breaks around the world. But there’s no money in that so y’all decided to build a giant pool that generates artificial waves instead smh. To each his own I guess?

Totally agree, more ocean artificial reef like palm beaches, will depopulate surf breaks and create new waves that everyone can enjoy
