    Thank you for redoing the test, i was thinking the same thing about the carbon pile. I have had an 80ah bank of Yinlong for over 3 years in my car audio build and it still puts out the same power as the day i installed it.

    great video ! yes lead acid came a long way ! AGM and now carbon lead .making much higher cycle life . now LTO battery's have appx 20,000 cycle life . before getting a battery understand what you want to do and how long ! and the volts/amps . there is many types now. NiCd , NiFe NiZn and lithium LiFePO4,LTO, MMC ,and many more , and more to come !! the 21st century will be much about battery's .The missing link to out power needs is storage ! battery's and super caps is filling that gap ! Now take a super cap with that LTO battery and run a 32 pill . 73's

    There is NO Comparison. LiFePo4 ended the game. 500% the life span. 100% Discharge rate. Nothing the same. Mine will out live me. My bet is my 10Kwh bank will be just fine in 10 or 15 years. Maybe 20 some years. Lead acid wouldn't do half that.

    Very interesting, the word battery gives me a massive headache.
    there are many different types of nickel cadmium, lithium ion on and on and ol faithful lead acid just the plate types alone make huge difference in storage capacity or density I guess more for the solar community.
    Just think for deep space they use thermocouples because they last.
    Any difference in heat creates voltage we're talking millivolts but in series it's real power just precious damn little.
    It might be interesting though to see how much actual power could be recovered from one of your smoking amps just as a for instance.

    I got so tired of messing with spending so much money on an AGM battery I just went ahead and made my own lithium ion cells years ago. I haven't looked back since. after I started building my own hacks and working out my own battery Management systems and of course arguing with people about what my pack voltage should be and everything else I just went ahead and just did it my own way and you know what after I did that I realize yeah I did it right.
    when you realize that lead acid batteries are literally useless and just about anything and everything these days even simple power tools or in fact things like Power Wheels or kids Vehicles you start to realize the problems with them when you start adding the weight in the capacity that they're simply just not useful anymore unless you have something like a standby power type deal and you know what I've seen quite a few of those fail over the years as well just sitting there being charged. mostly it's the AGM style but I've noticed that the wetstyle actually does a lot better in a lot of applications where there's high heat.
    for example when I started building my battery pack for my van I used a regular led acid cheap $50 battery I got from Walmart underneath the hood because the underhood temps are really quite hot and strangely this is actually really good for lead acid batteries of the cheap variety and seems to work very well. keep the water up and everything goes just fine and usually last for quite a few years. still what really made me wonder was just how much capacity I actually had in these batteries and once you realize that the stated capacity and what can actually do is really really bore you start to realize why it's such a good idea to have a Lithium-Ion pack buried either in the back of your car in your trunk or someplace with a good amount of capacity and simply you just don't have to worry about dead batteries or anything anymore or even not being able to start your car in the morning.
    years ago I used to take those 19 volt nickel-cadmium packages that they put for power tool batteries and use those for jump starting my vehicle and it worked out pretty darn well. you just had to leave it on the led acid battery for about maybe 10 minutes to 15 minutes and mostly you would be able to start your car after that.
    one day I realized I could take a bunch of cheap lithium ion cells from basically battery packs for laptops go ahead and put them at a high enough voltage at about 15 volts and then just basically connect those directly to the battery when I needed and I started using this little portable jumper pack for lot of things like giving people jumps and stuff like that and actually worked out pretty well..
    when the RC type Lithium Polymer cells came around that was a game-changer. now that the offer the cylindrical type cells yeah they're pretty much going to last for a really long time and you don't have to worry about the packages puffing up or anything.
    personally for me I realized while ago that I didn't really care about replacing the Lithium-ion batteries every few years because the thing is I got so much used and they were inexpensive enough that the lead acid would actually cost me more to replace and would actually be even harder to get the high-quality a jam cells are usually get from DEKA.
    a lot of people run into the issue of balancing or battery but when you have so many 4.2 volts cells in parallel and on top of that you can do you a manual charge of them when you do see them go out of balance and you have basically for battery gauges smashing to actual cell. It's really not that big of a deal anymore.
    the only times I've really had problems really is when you get a bunch of cells and just put them in series and not have parallel cells within them and that's about the only time I actually seen any issues.
    for me and my Breaking Point really was when I started using my inverter and realized just how much a 700 watt inverter actually pulls a load on an actual lead acid battery. my second big wake-up call was the amount of sulfation you get in a typical good-quality AGM cell.
    after dealing with those issues and realizing I would never have to worry about them ever again with lithium-ion type batteries?
    I never looked back.
    the thing that sold me on this was simply the fact that when I turned off my car I can actually maintain a voltage of 14 1/2 volts the whole time. and that's just leave my regular radio on we're just a very small amplifier in the car and that's pretty much about it and then of course maybe having the usual devices like USB charger so far.
    once I built my battery pack and realize that the large Bank of lithium ion pouch cells I purchase was basically all I needed to run the darn thing and not ever worry about having my inverter kill my car? Yeah that was pretty much my last actual purchase of lead acid batteries and that was I believe a couple months ago.
    the fact that they absolutely suck in the charge like it's nobody's business and on top of that even if you are at a very low voltage you can still start your car like you had a fully charged battery pretty much just ends any other argument for having a let acid battery in your car at that point.
    sure you have to build them yourselves but I have to admit I really actually enjoy building my own battery packs and doing my own monitoring as well but I realized that again if they're in any really hot or really areas where you don't want to go and put the lithium-ion battery that can be a problem but again there's so much storage and you don't have to worry about hydrogen in your car and let me tell you that can be a real problem..... it's so worth it

    Who would you recommend purchasing these Lithium cells from? As of February 2022 I've done a lot of research on these Yinlong (XS Power rewraps them) and I can't seem to find a trust worthy source to purchase these cells from. People purchasing what is labeled 45AH or 40AH when tested are really 30-37AH cells, and are being sold as "grade A" but are really "grade B" at best, it's been said that the military and other high ranking "customers" are the ones who are the ones getting the "grade A" cells.

    What is your thoughts about using LTO batteries for boat’s that have a few different fridges and a deepfreeze never mind all the other typical stuff in the house portion of the boat?

    • @BoxBuilderIdaho
      @BoxBuilderIdaho  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as their ability to store energy in let energy go like a regular battery that's within my wheelhouse. Now as I've grown older and I've grown wiser I've learned to say I don't know. With that being said I cannot speak to how the batteries will react in a freshwater environment or how they'll work in a saltwater environment. I have no data on this and I have no comment other than to say I don't know.

    • @BoxBuilderIdaho
      @BoxBuilderIdaho  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you put the battery cells themselves inside of a perfectly sealed enclosure and the cells are suspended in some kind of material or substrate that all about them not to move or have any shock damage any differently than a regular battery the downside is wherever you're at if it gets extremely cold we do run into the issue of the battery cells getting Frozen

    Ok question, say I don't have a 40 amp power supply to run a hg 4 pill that draws 40 amps however I can charge this bank with a 20 amp pyramid power supply or a car charger would that be a sustainable setup for long term use at home in my garage for my base station?

    Hey i got a question for you, just curious about what you think about the xlx2 fires, i love you video about it and i believe everything you said, i believe that esc is capable of everything you said, questions is why do you think they are catching fire? now i know you said in your video that you don't know about the details of how it is made which i understand, im just curious what you think, now if you don't wish to tell us then that is perfectly fine and i will leave it with keep doing what your doing

    • @BoxBuilderIdaho
      @BoxBuilderIdaho  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think guys need to quit using substandard batteries. I think guys need to quit hooking it to really high KVA moter's and then running the motor of full till with no gear on the motor. Which damages the motor and damages the ESC. I feel that it would be very helpful guys were a little bit more cautious about their wiring. I do believe that castle is the only company left that's willing to build us an ESC without limiters on it. So the only thing in the market that's even close to it is the MGM ESC. Which is a non waterproof very delicate very expensive and Incredibly fragile ELC that has a tendency to catch fire weigh more than the xlx2. I think that the only other thing that could even remotely be close to it in the market and it doesn't work is the beast mode esc. And they're known firebugs.. so I'm a little confused why one or two people have a problem after they've openly and flagrantly damage the ESC. On video and I'm talking running the thing of Full Tilt with no load on the motor or running it with the wrong sized Kv system. Why people are hyper focused on the ESC I think it's a shame cuz I literally a tank. You know I did everything I could for three and a half months to break that thing and I had no success. I also have to understand that there's a lot of people that want to become famous and they want to do it through TH-cam and if this is the thing that gets people to pay attention to them I'm sure they're more than willing to go out and shoot a demo video where the ESC is set up to fail.. Just saying.

      @@BoxBuilderIdaho thx for the reply, the one thing that I find interesting is that everyone does seem to agree that free spinning the motor damages it. I find that a bit curious because the torque test on the castle link you let the motor free spin. Maybe it is programmed for a specific rpm. Not sure. I would think that it is a motor and it wouldn't matter if it is under load or not. Thanks again

    Mr. BBI, in most of your videos you do a lot of psycho babbling to prove to your listing audience that you know what you're talking about.. I myself have never question your knowledge, but I know many have.. As a very ignorant person I watch the products you produce, and they show the level of your abilities.. You have built some of the most amazing amplifiers that I've ever seen, and yes I'm a fan.. Although long, and constantly repeating yourself I did enjoy these videos.. You bring knowledge to the 10, and 11 meter people we couldn't get anywhere else.. Tech Nine showed step by step how to assemble an amplifier, and no one has ever done a better job than him, because most of you guys try and keep your secrets, and knowledge so that all products and cash flow come back to you, but because of tech nine love of the hobby he shared with the world.. Anyways, before I become BBI. I conclude.. Glade you are out there giving us new technology as it becomes available
