Wonderful review, Most shaving channels dunk on cartridge razors, it is nice to see someone genuinely review and explain the technique needed to get a proper cartridge shave. Appreciate the tip about trimming your hair to 0.1mm to reduce irritation and the pulling. I'm going to try DE shaving because I have sensitive skin.
Cheers Ryan. Yea some of them hate carts with a passion. Shaving with a DE definitely helped me improve my technique and when applied to a cart, they elevated my overall shave experience. I do think carts seriously don’t work for some people but they are really not as bad as some shavers make them look like. Appreciate the kind words ✌🏼😎
Hey AllyDZ! I own both of these razors. I use them for the back of my neck and shoulder areas. While both give very close and smooth shave experiences, the power version is more comfortable! I can barely even feel the blade from the power Fusion! By far, these Gillettes shave closer than DSC, Harry's, Bic, and Schick! They are pricier, but you receive what you pay for. If you get coupons from mailers, on line, etc. it makes it worth even more! Thanks so much for this review! JimG
@JimG Thanks for sharing your experience !! My experience is the same and the Gillette power handles are definitely smoother. Guess what else I learnt from one of your comments, those Schick Quattro razors that I hated for their clogging…. They are awesome for daily shaves
I wanna try it but I'm used power fusion for sooooo many years that I feel like I couldn't go back to a non vibrating razer.. I get annoyed when the battery finally runs out from it. Is it still worth trying ?
@@Mordotz No harm in trying it out brother. What’s the worse that will happen 🤣. Again, if you are happy with your current choice, the labs have nothing ground breaking in particular.
Great comparison Brother one thing I would say the new Fusion blades are much better than the old ones because the new one has a small rubber guide whereas the old ones had a big rubber due to which I feel that it pulls a little
Hello, please, I would like to know the function on the Gillette Fusion 5 shaving head, which is marked with a clock icon on the product pictures. Originally the bottom of the shaving heads were solid, currently there is some ribbing (indicated by the mentioned icon). Does this mean that the bottom part will peel off or somehow separate after a certain amount of shaving to alert me to the need to replace the shaving head? Thank you.
@@vilempokorny4618 Hi mate, the bottom parts are just rubber guards which stretch the skin a little before the blades go over it. They don’t normally wear off in my experience, ideally the way the tell the cartridge is done when it’s gone blunt and isn’t cutting efficiently.
Haven’t tried Harry’s as they are not here in Australia yet. Between the other 2, Schick Hydro hands down my friend is the hero. Gillette Fusion 5 is great but they got nothing on the Hydro.
@@preeper_ sure bud. Tell me more so I work towards it as best as possible. What are you using/ used (razor and after shave). Whats the ideal outcome from an aftershave for you? You would be helping a lot of others who are perhaps in the same boat. Cheers ✌🏼
@@allydz Sure, double safety, Gillette, Silver, I use Dorco now since no longer have access to the original Gillette. For aftershave, Arko, Intesa, some local brands. Mostly to relieve skin, some products just have flavor, moisturizing is not enough.
@@abedshaikh8087 it’s very subjective based of the user, Deepening on hair, skin type, etc, so please refer to the video, hopefully you get your answer ✌️😀
There is one question open. Is the power fusion razor better with the power fusion cartridge or can I use the way cheaper non power cartridge? Any feedback
@@DirkHartmann-o3v Good question. I personally wouldn’t mix it up bcuz it will be too aggressive on the skin. The ridges at the lower part of the cartridge make a difference. If your skin can handle it, you sure can. My view is not to push my skin and take care of it.
@@allydz Non power cartridge looks exactly as cartridges that very first fusion five power razors were introduced with, even lower part has the same color (non powered wersions used to be blue instead of orange)
Great comparison review Ally👏 and great demo of good shaving technique and a fellow tuber used to say "it's shaving not digging". One good thing about the Gillette Fusion range of carts is the carts are interchangeable throughout the range, I prefer to use the two bladed Skin-Guard carts in my power handle and I agree the power shave is better. Take care brother👌🤠👌
@@allydz I would consider doing the skin-guard review. I did do a series of videos on what I called Modern razors, so I could just continue that series, I'll look into it.
@@allydz Actually my power handle might be of a similar age. I don't use carts very often but I do keep my hand in on the carts, unlike many DE shavers I actually get on quite well with carts as long as I use my traditional shave procedures.💈😎🪒
i prefer the regular older fusion 5 head carts(with wider micro-fins) . it's gives me a closer shave than the new fusion. about the handles i never tried the power

One thing I would is for you to try the Gillette Guard which is a single blade cartridge razor
I will keep an eye out for it. Unfortunately it’s not available here in an any of the super markets.
