Just so people truly understand how great the 2024 Detroit Lions Offense was, they scored 564 points. That's 4th best in NFL history. Chiefs are 3rd with 565 points, Patriots 2nd with 589, and the Broncos are 1st with 606 points. Granted the Lions had one more game, but still amazing.
The Lions and Dan Campbell were 3-13 until he promoted Ben Johnson to OC and play caller. Ben built and installed a new playbook and for the next 3 seasons the Lions had a top 5 offense, which carried their team to a 36-15 record during that time. The Lions didn't become a power house because of Dan Campbell. They became a powerhouse because of Ben Johnson and his offense. The question is will the Lions be able to continue that trend without their offensive genius / play caller? They'll have the hardest schedule in the NFL in 2025 and their cursed. I honestly think the Lions will fall back to being a 9-7 team or worse.
@@Booth55555 they were 3-13 because they were a brand new team with a little bit of talent trying to learn and bye in to a new culture and system. Ben Johnson didn’t turn the team around. The injection of talent did, and the buy in of the culture.
@@Booth55555 Bro got better when they got Gibbs, LaPorta, Williams stepped up. You're doing a disservice to the players if you think Ben made the offense
I was bitter about everything after the commanders game. As was any fan who gives a shit. But I'm feeling real good about what's to come. We'll see how this offseason goes. Fingers crossed GO LIONS 🦁
Life long lions fan….the loss to the commanders hurt bad not gonna lie. I moved away from Detroit years ago but my entire family remains, and mother is in the same home I grew up in. It will always be home, born in Pontiac general just down the road from the old silver dome. I cussed, wrote them off for the 1 thousandth time, said I was done and on and on lol. My friends here say “you aren’t a good fan” and I can see why they might think that. But, NO ONE understands how I felt except for true lions fans, you know who you are lol. 56 years old and have been on this roller coaster the entire time. Let’s Go Lions, Restore the Roar, we love you!
They keep saying it happens to teams that win but you’ve NEVER seen it happen to the Chiefs, Patriots or any other “winning” organization to lose that many damn coaches in one season it should be a rule against it! Always the Lions getting the shaft!
The Lions are cursed. Additionally, the Patriots lost a lot of coaches over the years but it rarely effected them because 1. They had Tom Brady and 2. During Tom's years their, the Patriots played in the weakest division in the NFL. They could go 8-8 and still win the division, it was that bad.
Modern nfl needs dual threat QB to be elite. Jared Goff is not going to be the guy at his price tag. Especially if we start losing key offensive players to salary cap restrictions and can't maintain an ELITE O-Line (which means having future Pro Bowl replacements ready for Taylor Decker & Frank Ragnow). The offseason's other main focus has to be revamping the defense into a top 10-15 unit across all stat lines.
Like the coaches so far still need to replace Randel El but as far as the missing pieces, nah We still need to resign players and get additional help on the D line
I am glad to lose Aron Glen. We need a fresh approach yet creative and aggressive. By be coming a top 7 Defense which is very doable in the Draft and getting healthy, this team will be very scarry.
David Shaw a headscratcher. Stanford liked to run, run, run, that's it. We are a more play action O. That doesn't jive eith our slight of hand offence!
I don't care wat coach leaves as long as Dan and Brad are here the Lions will be nasty. Anybody can make any delicious and healthy meal with all the best food options available to them.
Smartest hires? Come on. The Lions were 3-13 the season before the promoted Ben Johnson to OC and play caller. People want to give Johnny Morton partial credit for putting the play book together when in fact it was mostly Ben Johnson and Antwaan Randle El who did that. That is why the first coach that Ben Johnson hired was Randle El and why he made him the Assistant Head Coach. It's also why Ben Johnson NEVER even tried to bring Johnny Morton to Chicago. No matter how you look at it, you can't replace Ben Johnson. The guy is legit one of the best offensive minds and play callers in the NFL and a legit football genius. Johnny Morton, when he has had the opportunity to call plays for an offense he's been really, really bad at it. I have zero confidence in his ability to call plays as an OC and as Chicago proved this year that you can have a bunch of weapons on offense and defense but if you have a bad coach and play caller, talent can't even over come that. David Shaw, I can see him as an assistant head coach but WTF? There is a reason why he was working in the Broncos scouting department and not the coaching staff people. Head scratcher on this hire. The Lions have the hardest schedule in 2025. Based on their coaching losses and the changes in the NFC North. I don't see the Lions being division champs in 2025. The franchise is cursed.
Superbowl or bust. Twice the Lions didn't get there. Ben did the same thing Jim Bob Cooter did for the Lions. Get them to the playoffs. Who cares about divisional banners. Commanders got to the NFC championship via wildcard.

Yep and if we had a healthy defense we would be in Superbowl
If we can build a D to be half as good as the O and keep them all healthy we will be a nightmare for teams next year.
DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE......

Let’s Go Lions! I hear you bro, I swore them off myself for the millionth time, I’m back for 1 million and 1. Let’s go.
What’s the Lions' biggest priority this offseason? Strengthening the defense, adding more weapons, or just keeping the core together?

LIONS have top notch players on offense, if the LIONS can strengthen their defense, they will be on top of NFC North again.
You mean healthy defense 😂we had them until they got hurt like 16 of them😂
@@richardwarfordjr.5622 Hutch, McNeil, and Barnes may not be ready for training camp.
With Detroit’s offense already elite, how many key defensive upgrades would it take to make them legit Super Bowl favorites?

Why would the NFL want their darling money maker team to lose their coaches?
Huh u don't know nothing. Look at Andy Reid coaching trees n bills. They both had multiple coaches leave
You sound like a plant for the NFL. No team has lost this many coaches in one season. Go crawl back under the rock you came from.
Should the NFL put a rule in place to prevent teams from losing too many coaches in one offseason, or is it just part of the business?
Go baby
Bring me few defence players few good ones that the soultion
We need to focus on defense
I'm so glad that he did the stupid move that he did the Lions franchise didn't need no Cry-Baby player like this

Lions in trouble with Goff and brad Holmes

Yeah, this is cheap/shitty content.

Ben Johnson overrated Will see as hc
Offense won't be that good 👍 this year Morton and Shaw are mediocre
👍
John Morton much pass. when he call play 2017 it was 500 pass and 400 Run. the year detroit 400 pass 500 Run.
That is the most gayest tight end I ever seen
