🎯 I’ve also heard they are going to make a spiked version of the SF2 for Nike athletes… for training…. That should also be great, though we will never see it.
Agree... it was a shoe that did so much. As much as I like the RF4, it's not exactly a total replacement. I wonder if Nike will do a shoe like the SF again. Good thing the Peg Plus gives most of the SF feel and the Adios 9 exists.
Chris! Thank you for the comparisons. You know I'm a traditional racing flat runner Like Asics Sortie Magic RP6 who does like the Streakfly and Vaporfly, not to forget the Dragonfly and Victory spikes. The last Adios I had was the 5. I'm so excited about the 9 and am looking forward to picking up a pair when they are available in the US. Thanks to your excellent reviews. In addition, I'm looking forward to the Streakfly 2. Wow a Victory for the road!!! The future looks bright for low and lower profile running shoes!
Dragonfly for the road, no air and more aggressive than the Victory. But yes, it's going to be quite the shoe. Seeing Cole Hocker in them and knowing how he sees them differing from spikes and the VF3 (less aggressive than a spike, but almost as fast... but faster than a VF3) is amazing.
Wild, seems like no one else is really talking about the Rival Fly. Granted the online running shoe nerd space is so marathon training oriented so that makes some sense
I just got a pair of the Streakflys and I’m absolutely loving them so far. I’ve got two workouts in them so far and I’ve been really impressed. Great on roads and track. Still a great shoe even in 2025.
hey sagasu you have been helpful with these videos! my current dilemma is choosing a new speed work shoe between zoom fly 6, pegasus plus or perhaps the adios 9. My current focus is the 10k so im not doing any high mileages
The Peg Plus is the most well rounded and is a trainer... so it will be durable enough for training and fast enough to race in while giving a lot of training stimulus. I'd start there.
Agree... sad to see it go and wondering if Nike will do a shoe (a race flat) like this again. Good thing the Peg Plus gives most of the SF feel and the Adios 9 exists.
Loved the video. Threw a curveball on me with the streakfly being in the mix 😂. After watching this, i’m gonna go with the adidas adios 9. Durability is a big factor for one, but from my interpretation you said the adios captures the feel of the streakfly but has more innovated technology in the upper portion and outsole. You were right about another thing however. I still do want both shoes😂. Thank you for the video!
The A9 definitely is the more durable SF. It’s not as resilient, but it’s close. It does have a softer door feel due to the outsole. It’s a very enjoyable ride.
I'm a pre-carbon plated racing flat runner. The Streakfly 2 reminds me of the Metaspeed LD. Is $60 USD a good price for the Rival Fly 3? The 4 is hard to find.
RF3 is a totally different shoe. More like a Pegasus 36.5, nothing at all like the RF4. Unless you are in a rush, I'd wait to find a RF4. The SF2 is going to be MUCH more aggressive than the Metaspeed LD (which i tried on and found just sort of "flat"). iw as really curious about that shoe at one point and though it was maybe a good option for track work for me, a while bac, when I didn't want to deal with spikes.
The Evo SL is the next shoe up on the channel... massive content dump on it starting this week and running week into next week. I won't be doing a "vs" comparing it the the SL2 directly, but I will discuss it...
I think the Takumi Sen 10 is closer to a Vaporfly in dimensions and weight. That StreakFly 2 reminds me of the Jenny Simpson New Balance 5280 which was a specialty road mile or 5k shoe - a road “track spike”.
The Takumi Sen 10 is closer in dimensions but the ride is totally different. The Evo 1 runs much more like the Vaporfly…. The Takumi Sen has become the odd shoe out in the lineup now…
I actually find the StreakFly to excel at easy and steady running. I mean, it likes to go fast too, but having now run in the Adios 9, I think the Adios has a higher ceiling for high intensity reps. In another video, you characterized the StreakFly as the de facto Pegasus Turbo 3. I think that’s more aligned with how it operates in my rotation at this time. The StreakFly 2 looks very interesting. It almost seems like it would be a shoe to compete more with the Takumi Sen than the Adios. But we shall see… 🤷♂️
I also called the Streakfly an “Invincible Lite”… which is how I thought of it for easy running. Soft and resilient without the bulk. The Peg Plus replaced the use case for me over the SF… but the A9 is quite nice to get into… some content coming next month on all of this.
Same fit issues here with the Streakfly. I should have sized down 0.5 which I never have to do in Nike. I've had fun with the Rival Fly 4 as well despite the firmer ride compared to most modern Nikes I'm used to.
Perhaps they should have a version of RF with ZoomX (at least a layer of it) if SF2 is going in a different direction. BTW, fyi, there are pictures of now cancelled Nike Tempo 2 and Infinity Run 4 in the Strava group "Unreleased Running Shoes" Apparently Nike made the repositioning pretty late.
I think it Nike kept the silhouette of the RF4 as is but used Atomknit on the upper and Phylon foam for the midsole, keep the air unit… they would have the best race flat they ever have made. As for the repositioning… yup, very late. I talked a lot about it in my content last May/June. There are multiple Tempo 2 proto leaks, including the one with the giant cutout in the midfoot that I assume you saw.
@@SagasuRunning Yes, the Tempo 2, I saw has a pretty big cutout/void right behind the AirZoom pods.I think it is AF3 inspired but AF3 has the cutout covered with a skinny bit of midsole foam. On the other hand, the picture of Invincible 4 was from apparently a Nike outlet shore (someone holding the shoe while picturing). So, Nike seems to be liquidating whatever initial production they did for Invincible 4.
@TolunayOrkun The Tempo 2 you saw predates the AF2 by quite a bit. The I4 samples you see are very rare, I’d guess fewer than a few hundred total. Same reason why the peg Plus has the word “Turbo” on the outsole.
I came to the realization that the when the Streakfly 1 it had problems with sizing. It didn't fit very well and I never liked it even though now having another pair in the same size the fit is better. I do like a racing flat feel and one of my favorite shoes was the lunar epic flyknit and loved the feel of the lunarlon. The rival fly 4 doesn't get much mention here, but definitely will give it a try.
Ya… I had a release color way of the SF that I remember being very roomy in the tow area. The subsequent pairs I bought after they all, while still roomy, had better fits. Sometimes shoes do change slightly in production. Sounds like you’ll enjoy the RF4. Temper expectations, it’s not a top tier shoe, but it’s a very fun and solid flat. I’m glad Nike still makes it.
@@SagasuRunning I am actually thinking of it as an easy day shoe as you mentioned some of us like to run in racing flats. I used to run in free runs which was kind of the same. I have also realized that the cushioned shoe trend hasn't worked for me. Probably going to return the Zoom Fly 6 for the Rival 4 and use the extra to be used for the VF4 when it comes out. Hopefully it'll go back the VF next% 1.
The SF is as close to the old “Nike Frees” as you’ll find now. They still make the “free” but it’s a much different shoe. I think many are hoping for a more aggressive VF4. If the ZF6 is a sign…I think we may be in for something quite interesting.
The upper of the streakfly (literally) rubbed me the wrong way. I seemed like a good design but just fit slightly odd for me causing blisters on my left foot - which is rare for me - and that limited my use. I also found a kind of bottom out sensation when used off of the track. That may be a function of me as a larger person over 188cm. I had a similar bottoming out sensation (and blisters in the Puma Liberate). It’s not necessarily a bad feeling but that you have distinctly maxed out the elastic curve of the shoe midsole compression. It seems a sensation only possible in supercritical airy midsole materials. I didn’t have the same thud even in something like the Streak LT - which admittedly didn’t have a lot of midsole to compress. Did you experience that sort of bottoming out sensation in any of those shoes?
I said I'd love a Dragonfly for the road before the Streakfly 2 existed so I'll be so disappointed if I don't like that shoe. Might look at getting a DF2 resoled if I don't 😂. I actually went down half a size on the Streakfly as per what you said. I'm only really using it as a cushioned track shoe although I've used it a little for easy road stuff.
Oh man, an actual road DF2...I mean you can already do that with the Dragonfly XC...technically. There is also the Rival Waffle, though that one isn't as aggressive.
@SagasuRunning yes I almost wrote the DF XC actually and I have that already, hopefully I don't need to experiment though. Rival Waffle is quite weighty for what it is, I have the Victory Waffle 5 which is a lot lighter but is basically a barefoot shoe on road.
Can't wait for that Streakfly 2. It really does look amazing - Basically the same geometry as the Dragonfly but higher stack and a Carbon Plate.
🎯
I’ve also heard they are going to make a spiked version of the SF2 for Nike athletes… for training…. That should also be great, though we will never see it.
@SagasuRunning Oh Yes, that would be amazing. Always dread the frozen or snowy Track we sometimes get here.
@robin29991 Here I worry more about the truck being so hot it scorches my feet through the spikes…
I'm kind of excited, but also afraid that the plate will ruin this shoe.
I don't know if it can even be called 'ruining' because its really a completely different shoe...@@ucatani
Another great comparison. The best on TH-cam.
Glad you enjoyed it! 🤙🏻
The Streakfly is the hidden gem of the Nike lineup. The 6mm drop is chefs kiss
Agree... it was a shoe that did so much. As much as I like the RF4, it's not exactly a total replacement. I wonder if Nike will do a shoe like the SF again. Good thing the Peg Plus gives most of the SF feel and the Adios 9 exists.
I bought a pair for 80 euros on sale and still returned them because I couldn't get used to the mushiness/softness of the ZoomX :(

Not only marathon oriented but trend oriented. Therefore many great shoes get overlooked or downplayed.
I'm here for the algo.... yes I watched it fully. But I have nothing to ask or too add
thanks for your work :3

Great content as usual. I'm just curious if Adidas will release a red colorway for the Adios 9. The return of the forbidden red shoe. 😅
There are multiple red color ways coming... I've counted 3. Including the OG forbidden red shoe we saw.

@SagasuRunning Very good. Cheers, Chris.
Would really like to try the Nike Rival Fly 4 but they aren’t sold in Europe so I just wait for the Ekiden Colorway of the Adios 9 to release here.
The RF4 will eventually get there. All previous versions have released in Europe. No idea when though.
