Nie Hausang is the most well written character of them all. He is the person who literally played everyone of them like chess pieces while acting like a fool. He deserves his own fandom.

He'll keep his role as innocent useless second young master of the Nie Clan if his brother still alive and well. Hui Shang wasn't an ambitious evil prick like Meng Yao, or a cocky genius like Wei Ying. He was just a regular guy who use all of his brain and talent to did what he need to do
It's was heavily implied in the book that he was always like that but he just hid it well. With what happened with his brother was the perfect opportunity to show more of that side of him.
His brother's death was definitely the last straw especially after figuring out his former confidant and friend was behind it. I wouldn't be surprised if he suspected Meng Yao released Xue Yang from prison. His friend Wie Wuxian was framed and I think it hurt him a lot to see what all transpired around that.

We must not forget the fact that Nei Huisang was the reason of Wei wuxian's resurrection.. and apart from taking revenge from jin guangyao, another reason for it was that Nei Huisang regretted not standing up for Wei Wuxian at the nevernight... Yes.. lan wangji was not the only one who regretted it.. Nei Huisang was never interested in politics.. but in the end he was the one who cleared up the mess created due to those idiotic clan leaders. His character deserves much more appreciation.❤️
Nie Huaisang is the best example for character development. From a young boy who just want to admire nice things, and art or take care of his birds, and don’t even carry his sword with himself he became a mastermind to take revenge for his murdered brother. I pity Huaisang and feel sorry for him because he wasn’t able to stay in his peaceful world, as he was in the beginning of the story, where he could do what he really wanted to. 😢
The thing about him was that he was just flawless at manipulation. Which is why Wei Ying never tried to revive their lost friendship bc he never actually cared about anyone else..He used them all. But he's still a cutie who gave WangXian a second chance, for whatever reason that is
Malu i didn’t see it that way, or maybe it’s like i didn’t want to see it. he used xichen for the final blow to guangyao. I loved Huaisang since the beginning and could always relate to his “Please don’t ask me, I don’t know” way of going about things. But that was all just a façade... kdhdkdjd kind of spooky and it paints him a little differently in my eyes. he did use them all :(( but i don’t see so much how he used everyone else like wangxian (i haven’t read the novel though so maybe it would give me a new perspective)
Huaisang has become a different man after the death of his brother and all those years calculating his revenge, he changed completely this was not the same boy Wei Ying played around with in the past. I get what you mean Wei Ying friends with Huaisang of the past, the current one just happens to be a stranger but I think because of that Wei Ying still sees him as a friend in some ways. And Huaisang in his way will always see Wei Ying as his friend from the past, which is why he allowed Wei Ying's rebirth did that as a favor for an old friend.
hmm..he is good..n he has gotten his revenge on both meng yao for killing his brother n indirectly killing weiying too..since meng yao was the mastermind behind the downfall of weiying..
I disagree... he revived wei Wuxian also because they were best friends, it’s like killing two birds with one stone. He lured all the juniors because he knew wwc and lan zhan would come anyways. Everytime wei Wuxian came back nie huaisang acted happy like he carefully made sure everyone came back alive. If your brother died and you knew you were weak and the only person that could help you get revenge was your old best friend, it’s really like being able to get him back and take revenge. Though he lied to everyone I don’t think he was “using” wwc as in not caring about him. He carefully planned enough to make sure everyone came back alive.

I didn’t know Nie was the one behind the curtain and requested the storyteller to tell Wei Ying’s story. Honestly I can understand why he did what he did. He took revenge for his brother and had to move people around. I don’t think he was doing it out of evil intent but just to bring justice for his fallen brother. Plus at the end, I could see how sad and lonely he looked after saying hello to Wei Ying and Lanzhan. Wei Ying definitely saw through his facade and knew not to mess with him but also hinted at Nie not to hurt Lanzhan. But I hope they can all still be friends and work together in difficult times.
I fully support what Nie did. He got justice and Wei Wuxian's name cleared. His brother I think was the last straw; I think he suspected even before then that Meng Yao was responsible for Xue Yang's jail break and the murder of the Jin brothers & Jiang Yanli. By extension also the remaining Wen members.
Also I don't think NHS would hurt Lan Zhan. If anything I think there's some respect (in the drama, not sure about the novel) between the two. I think NHS respects LWJ's drive for justice and ability to see past facades (I personally found it very interesting that LWJ was deadset on JGY being the culprit behind NMJ which makes me wonder...) Heck, NHS even gave LZ and Sizhui a second chance at a life together with Wei Wuxian on a silver platter.
For revenge, he could even hug and act friendly with his greatest enemy~~ I was once an episode of CSI, where the mother even slept with the person who murdered his daughter~ Person can really do anything just to get their sweet revenge~~ Thats why I cannot blame NH, he knows he cannot fight JGY with confrontation~ but thanks to his way of revenge, LWJ & WWX was given another chance to meet~
Alot of people don't realize if you didn't read the book that he actually orchestrated alot of things and it took him years to re enact his revenge, it was heavily implied in the books his character....wow he fooled us I was so shocked at the end
I watched Fatal Journey yesterday and now I 100% get it why Huaisang did everything. The spin-off don’t tell us ‘directly’ about what happened next, but if you have finished watching The Untamed (even rewatching it for nth times) you’d know the reason why Huaisang did everything. Nie Huaisang is my favorite kind of character. The one that on the outside is soft and unable to accomplish difficult tasks. And then on the inside they're a manipulative boss who knows how to get what they want. Like shit. Ning Yi from The Rise of Phoenixes is the same. Soo won from Yona of the Dawn (anime) is a genius.
at the ending of the novel... im kinda not satisfied (but then again, not all stories have a happy ending) since.. you know.. it's kinda like The Main couple was Happy, yes BUT... most of the ppl before aren't happy now... (idk how to word it) anyways, I just want my Gusu Trio back plessss

That’s my understanding of it, and the translation often used is “Brother Nie”/“Nie bro”, but I don’t speak chinese/mandarin so don’t take my word as 100%.
