So Nashville shouldn’t have an NFL team because it’s in SEC country but Austin and Columbus should get one. No owner in their right mind would want to compete with Texas and Ohio state. Titans biggest in city competitor is Vanderbilt. The argument against Nashville having a team is why Austin and Columbus don’t have one and probably never will

They're bigots against Nashville as notice how they praised Austin as almost the same in every way to Nashville but they think Austin deserves a team and Nashville doesn't. I live in NW Alabama and can tell you that the Titans do a piss poor job of winning over fans here although we're supposedly in their market. There's no merchandising, no events... nothing. But if you put a team in Austin, they'd do the same thing to the communities in their market. The NFL as a whole does a bad job in most markets but I'd support the Titans if they showed any concern to support us which they don't. But still, I don't understand the hate on Nashville when TPS basically identifies Austin as your ugly twin sister and states they deserve a team but Nashville doesn't.

It's an area that packs the sell out crowds and has a world class mall across the highway, Tons of luxury Hotels near the area and a short drive to the Airports. The Giants have tons of fans in the Garden State as well as the Big Apple. The Jets have growing fans in the Jersey area and a ton of fans in New York. When I saw the city I'm from in the thumbnail, I already knew this video was BS. You do realize the Titans are getting a new stadium right? You never mention that in videos. Same for the Jags. No one gives a fuck about Vanderbilt. There are way more Vols fans around the state and UT is in Knoxville. Why is Columbus on the list? The Buckeyes are way too iconic so it doesn't need an NFL team. Have you ever been to Nashville? Apparently not since you ALWAYS miss the mark every time you talk about the Titans.

  • @29Texan
    @29Texan 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

No one does research on videos like this.
    - It's NEVER about who "deserves" a team when it comes to sports leagues. It's all about what's the best business decision.
    - Oakland is a dying, shrinking city. They're losing all their sports teams for a reason. If it ever gets better, again, it's going to take a couple *decades* before they're even looked at for expansion/relocation.
    - Nashville is literally building a new stadium right now. They broke ground in March.
    - If and when Texas gets a 3rd team, it's going to San Antonio, more than likely. That city packed a decrepit Alamodome for minor league teams.
    - Columbus has no real shot at anything other than _maybe_ an NBA team, and even that would be a reach.
    - You fail to mention that St. Louis lost about 4 NFL teams and only kept all 4 for relatively short periods of time. Rams for 20 years, Cardinals for 27, Gunners for 9 and All-stars for like a couple months.
    - There is no room in actual NYC for an NFL sized stadium, unless they tear buildings down to make room... and there's only so many buildings you can demolish (or be allowed to) in that city. It's unrealistic to think that anywhere else other than the New Jersey suburbs are suitable for the Jets and Giants.
The only thing from this video I agree with is Jacksonville, but even they're building something for their stadium to keep them around.
And the Chargers should be in San Diego. The Rams are the "Legacy Franchise" in L.A. . . . one is enough for them. But if they had to have a 2nd team, it should have been the Raiders.

At least you do not suggest an expansion. 32 teams are really enough. But asking both NFL teams to move away from LA is just nuts. The Rams were there from 1946 to 1994 and returned after a 22-year "stopover" in St. Louis. The Chargers though still have more fans in San Diego than they (probably ever will) have in LA.

It is the typical bias against the South.
Even though the South is the only region that is booming, and even though the South has 35% of the nation's population, far more than any other region, these types want to claim the South needs fewer teams, when the South is already too short of teams in all major league sports. Meanwhile, up in the Midwest, any middle sized city, such as Cleveland, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Indianapolis has teams. In baseball it is especially pronounced with the Midwest having 9 MLB teams amongst a combined 68 million Midwest population, while the South only has five MLB teams, but only one outside of Texas or Florida, yet the region has 134 million people.
When you look at fan support, even in hockey, southern markets do better in attendance than any other region.
What is crazy is that he wants to remove Carolina when Charlotte has 3 million people and will probably have 4 million by 2040, yet Pittsburgh has 2.2 million, KC has 2.2 million, Cincinnati has 3.3 million. Columbus has 2.2 million. He wants to give Ohio a third team and remove the only North Carolina team when in ten years North Carolina will have a larger population than Ohio.

The issue is which cities have money and interest in football. Those with money will build a suitable stadium and have fans with disposable income. Cities in California, or Saint Louis, don’t have a financial base.

Exactly, Columbus city limits encompass the entire Franklin county area. If Cincinnati were to incorporate the entire area of Hamilton County, it’s population would exceed 850,000.

You nailed it on LA its not an NFL town, but they have 2 teams, if its because they have too much to do in LA then take their teams away! The NFL has 3 teams in a noncrazed football state! You got it wrong in Texas, it should be SAN ANTONIO and not Austin for an NFL team. SA is hot bed for football and we should have a team, we even built a domed stadium in hopes an NFL team would come. When Hurricane Katrina hit SA hosted the New Orleans Saints and they played a game here too, the game sold out in minutes! Some think its Jerry Jones that doesn't want to divide the football revenue in 3 ways if SA got a team. Our NBA Spurs are known as one of the best run franchises of all sports!

St Louis needs a team that is birthed there. Not some team that they act as foster parents to. Then they should get a name that is reflective of the city. Like the St Louis Drive-bys, St Louis Thin Slices, St Louis Humidity :)

I've been knowing the Jacksonville Jaguars franchise since I was 8 years old in 1995 the same year that the Carolina Panthers was a new franchise team to the NFL even though I never hated Jaguars as a football team they been to all 3 trips to the AFC Championship Games but never been to the Super Bowl not once but it would be nice if Jacksonville did play in a Super Bowl and win it all but I do believe it's time to pull the plug! 4:00

You've thrown out some interesting ideas, but I don't think most of them would work.
Many people say that Jerry Jones will do everything in his power to keep more teams out of Texas. If that's true, I see no chance that the NFL will defy Jones and put a team in Austin. If they were going to put a team in that general area, they might put the team in San Antonio. They might even build a stadium between Austin and San Antonio and call the team the Texas something-or-another. I hated the alliteration of the name Tennessee Titans, and I would hate the alliteration of Texas Titans. Maybe the only good thing about Jerry Jones keeping another team out of Texas would be avoiding the "Texas Titans" becoming a team. If Jerry Jones has the power to keep the NFL from having a third Texas franchise, I suspect that he'd be able to keep a team out of Oklahoma City. Jones seems to think that he owns Oklahoma City as well. Maybe he would accept a team close to Tulsa. If the team's stadium were on I-44 on the OKC side of Tulsa and called the Oklahoma something-or-other, maybe that could work. Oklahoma City fans could still drive to the stadium in a reasonable amount of time. If I were an owner, I wouldn't want to compete with the Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma State Cowboys in the city of Oklahoma City.
I agree that giving St. Louis a franchise would be good. I've heard that support for the football team wasn't always quite as strong as what you claim. When St. Louis had the Cardinals, people in the area were speaking of the baseball team when they said "Cardinals." If someone said "Cardinals" referencing the football team, they would say, "Oh, you mean the football Cardinals." Even so, I wouldn't mind seeing St. Louis get another football team. If the Carolina Panthers moved to St. Louis, they could change the name to "Cougars" because that's a more common name for mountain lions.
I have nothing against an NFL team in Columbus, Ohio, but I'm less certain than you are about the success of that project. Soccer and hockey are not major sports in the USA, particularly soccer. That Columbus has supported a soccer team is irrelevant. Columbus is not that long a drive from Cincinnati, and I suspect that most people in the area are Bengals fans. I wouldn't want to compete against Ohio State for a football fan base.
I don't know whether Oakland is ready for another NFL franchise. Many people in the area might say that they are, but I'm a little skeptical.
I think "Tennessee Titans" was a stupid name for a football team, but I don't think that the city has done as poorly as you suggest. I wouldn't be quite so quick to insist that they move.
Now that Dan Snyder has let go of the Washington team, the Panthers' owner seems to be in a competition with Jerry Jones to see who can be the worst owner in the league. I think the guy had ties to that area, so he's less likely to move the team on his own. If he sold the team, maybe the new ownership would make a move. I could see letting them go to St. Louis.
I can see wanting to move the Jaguars out of Jacksonville.
I can see wanting to move the Chargers out of Los Angeles.
I can't really see moving the Jets and Giants out of East Rutherford. Real estate in the area is just too expensive to build a stadium easily.
