  • We finally have the stock engine MK4 1.8T big turbo car done and up and running on the ECU Master EMU Black ECU. We definitely struggled through some mechanical issues but it's finally time to see how much power a stock engine 1.8t can make.

If this engine grenades I’d love to see a motor with just maxxspeeding rods connecting rods and nothing else because I’ve wondered if you drop a set of those in a 1.8 if you can make good power or if you need pistons and head work etc like most people do. I’d also just like to see how the cheap rods hold up on there

I would go with another stock 1.8t and just drop some cheap rod in it! You could also add some better headbolts depending on how the first motor will blow up. I really like your channel guys, nice job!!! I'm a 1.8t owner and lover since 2009 ;)

*Hope you read this* I am sitting on the last 04' Passat GL Wagon which has the 1.8T, 5-Speed Manual, Four Motion, shadow blue outside and anthracite interior on the inside. This car has spent most of it's life running at 12lbs of boost. The engine is still solid without burning oil or anything. Quieter than my mother's 2014 Fiesta Titanium. I am hoping you will continue and see how she does within reason. Living in Wisconsin I have her garaged and waiting 4 spring to add a front mount intercooler to it. (No worries I have a welder so no silicone adapter crap where it doesn't need to flex) lol Everything is still original and still solid at 228k. Owned prior by my X-Father N Law who is a salesman for the Toyota Dealership in Madison he had never missed a oil change on her so I'm super interested in seeing what can be possible. Please continue because I would like to keep my, "Granny Sleeper" running as spunky as I can for as long as I can so I don't have to Dr. Frankenstein the beast just yet... Thanks 2 all that makes these vids possible.

    • @COMotorsports

Ethanol requires way more fuel. Also the stock filter, fuel tank potentially is full of junk and since I was putting a $1000 set of injectors in there I didn't really want to take that chance. So it was a combination of things.
