1:41 Jason, I think that clear plastic sheath on the top wire should slide all the way down and into the shaft hole. It would better protect cable insulation from rubbing and frailing at the edge of that hole. I don't think that cable is rubbing against the casing at that top spot, so it's useless there. That zip tie was most likely added later (probably when replacing the gears). You could also take a short piece of air hose from your fish tank, cut it on the side and snap it on on the second wire and slide into the shaft. This is certainly a precaution, but it's much easier than probably having to disassemble the whole thing to change these cables later ;).

I was wondering if this would work for roadblasters. We 3d printed some buttons, but these clear light up ones would be amazing.
