His style from No Strings Attached was classic JC. He didn't need to change his style. He was IT all the time, but the record label kept pushing Justin, so they had to groom JC to be as "equally funky" to compete with the push for JT... They threw all their eggs in the JT basket. JT was more willing to do the bidding to get to superstardom, whereas JC wanted to do it on his own, and he tried so hard to get his Kate album to gain awareness, and the record label never released it. JC was the front man in Nsync. The powers that be pushed him aside and pushed JT to the top. It was all intentional.
