This video features Boston MBTA trackless trolley buses in operation in 1981, as filmed by David Williams.
David filmed with Super 8mm film the Boston T trackless trolley buses. Seen are the Flyer E800 models.
Thanks for supporting and watching Transit Rewind!
Another blast from the past! Love the old videos :)
Nice to see some vintage film. I really enjoy scanning these vintage films 🎥
RT 73 was my commute.. Harvard Sq. -Waverly Sq. Trackless trolley wires right outside my kitchen windows.. loved it
Amazing views from the Kitchen! Very lucky. Too bad they’re gone!
You’ve gotten great footage from David Williams! Capturing a moment of transit history! I only have been in Boston once but really enjoyed the vibe. I guess the trend is everything battery with transit now and in the future.
Thanks Roland! These films are such treasures. I’m so happy to have found them and glad people appreciate them!
Cool stuff man! Didn’t expect Transit Rewind to cross the border.
Thanks! I acquired a bunch of films from different places, as well as the TTC. David Williams sure made his way around the world!
Indeed.
Another great trolleybus video. I really enjoyed the shot of the 72 doing the U turn at the end of Aberdeen Av over the crosswalk. Must not have been fun with Armstrong steering buses
Thanks Rob! Yes that turn must have been quite the challenge!
Rest In Peace Trackless Trolley 1936-2022
Great video thanks for sharing thanks for the information keep it up
Thank you KC
Very nice video!!!!
Thank you!
Only Charlie was missing.
😅
Simply awful that they are gone .
I agree! A complete waste. Trackless trolleys are a proven technology.
I think the MBTA should retain the trolley bus system, therefore they can use it for on-the-go charging.
OOOO
❤️❤️❤️😝
They say temporary but I'm seeing the wires being taken down near the star market
They never said temporary

Like they did with the Arborway Line to Forest Hills(1985) and never returned. Instead, ended up with the 39 bus. Also when they took down the Elevated Lines: Atlantic Avenue (1938), Charlestown (1975), Washington Street (1987) and Causeway (2004).
Is this from your VHS tapes
These were 8mm films from the estate of David Williams .
@@fares-please dude ikr from Wikipedia, the #1 source of the fleet rosters in the world except TransiTalk Transportation Media Group and Boston has discontinued their trolleybus routes 71 and 73 2 months ago and who is David Williams
@@transitfan2000 He was a transit enthusiast that passed away several years ago. He filmed many different transit agencies around the globe from the 50s to 80s. Yes I’m aware the routes are now officially suspended.
Forever they never coming back they goona be replaced by electric buses
Sad to hear that
