Beautiful. I love the little addition to the painting, a pink butterfly. Thank you for talking about the round top brush and showing how to use it. I am thankful for the in depth details mention of how to use each brush, the purpose of each brush and the brush strokes and many other tiny details you mention on the programmes. You make it look easy, but let me tell you Sir, it is like you knew me when you talk about overdoing the painting and ruining it. That is my biggest problem. I would do a leaf and it looks okay, but I am never happy because I want to get it exactly as you do it and in my eyes it doesn't look the same, so I keep on fiddling with one leaf and then the next one, then the next petal or the centre of the flower - for hours.- keep retouching it and then, Voila! , a ruined painting. Another lesson I am thankful for is, using the medium, when to add a touch or medium to loosen the paint, they are great hints. Thank you. Well, after many ruined canvases, I am sure I will get there some day. I hope you would let us know how I can reuse the canvases, give them a new lease of life, bring than back to at least near original blank canvas, so that I can keep using them to practice. Beautiful Mums. Great colour combination.

I don't understand the white on first?? I had a lesson the other day where we did a sea scape and we covered the whole canvas with linseed oil, I. another one we did a flower like above but used both paint and linseed to do the background. what's the general rule?? I don't get it

sw14 you use white with lots of medium so its thin and easy to blend
