To be fair to the leafs, they are playing a 2nd seed team, Oilers are playing a 2nd wild card. Not saying the oilers arnt playing well it’s just not a 1:1 comparison.
@@Moobeus I can see your point. Based on what is "fair", the #1 team after the regular season should always win the Stanley Cup ... just to be fair ... because they are the best team.

I’m not saying Hyman isn’t good, but he did have it extremely easy as a result of his dad. Would he have made it either way? We’ll never know
@@Moobeus you can’t say he had it extremely easy, he still had to make every cut and perform when he had to. Yes he played on top lines and better teams because of his dad but at the same time he has tons of talent and goal scoring ability. What kind of father would he be if he had the opportunity to help his son succeed and didn’t. He still made it onto an NHL roster and scored 50 goal by himself. Saying “what about the poor kids” is completely irrelevant, His success doesn’t affect anyone else’s success.
So the take away from the salty leaf fans is anyone could get these points next to McDavid, hyman is a low skill bum benefitting from his situation. For how much hype Matthews and Marner get you think they would have been able to elevate Hyman?
The same Leaf fans that give all the credit for Hyman's success to McDavid, think that Matthews doesn't need Marner or Nylander feeding him easy looks for goals. If you're going to feed into this narrative, then it completely debunks the narrative that assists are so much less valuable than goals.
Take a 20ish goal scorer, place him with the best player in the game and another good player, profits? You honestly can't call Hyman an "elite scorer" , put him on his own line and see if he can even do anything.
Elite goal scorer? He will never come close to this total again just like Nuge last year with 100 points to not even a point a game player this year. He is at the end of his prime and a lot of those goals either banked off of him, took very little skill etc… Elite goal scorers can take over a game which Hyman can’t do that.
He went from a 4th liner to an elite player and it’s not hard to figure out. Darn, a fire hydrant is good for about 30 goals playing alongside McJesus …Hallelujah
3 games into the playoffs, Hyman has the same amount of GOALs as the Leafs entire team!

miss him in TO. Was very upset when Leafs couldn't resign him... 😢
If your saying that Hyman is benefiting off McD- then your calling Matthews and Marner "mid".
They look mid against Boston. 😅
Forgot that everyone who plays on mcdavids wing had 50 goal seasons. Wait… they didn’t???
This guy plays wing to McDavid like Chris Kunitz did to Sidney Crosby.
How? Because you don't get points checking for Matthews and marner, you get points being wide open for McDavid.

He’s definitely improved his game since playing w Toronto but realistically he’s probably a solid player w good positioning not an “elite goal scorer”

How come nobody else scored 50 with Connor then? Uneducated opinion
