Good review. I personally would rate it 7/10. The fortresses are way too small and I finished Ashlands in half the time it took me to do Mistlands when it released. It's not a bad patch, but it certainly isn't amazing.
Agree that the forts are way too small, there should be double-layered variants (walls), larger central keeps, or additional dungeons. But the fact that it took half as long as the mistlands to progress through is probably just because you're not constantly lost and blinded by the mist 😅
For me ashlands has been a huge disappointment. Uninteresting endless swarm of mobs, both the dungeons and forts are very tiny and have zero variance. Deathloops were the worst Ive experienced and dying in the middle of lava is disgusting. Also whats the point of not being able to upgrade gear to maximum? Next update you will just get the new generation of gear and never max out the previous stuff. Massive failure repeated from the mistlands
@@vekeuimonen11 which dungeons? The mini-caves? But also how do you manage to get into a deathloop in the lava of all things bruh, this sounds like a skill issue tbh 💀
@@sethivaltas619 Yes the mini caves with morgen. And deathloops are quite easy to get into when you lose your gear in lava and now you have to run back without gear and somehow avoid all the mobs which can chase you down. Also, the rng fireballs that can knock you off platforms add some spice to getting your stuff back.
@@vekeuimonen11 you can use the shield generator the prevent the fireballs from spawning though, and trust me when I say that padded armor works just fine in the ashlands
its really underwhelming considering how long it took to make... done in 1 or 2 days... it seems hard at first, but once you learn whats really there and how to handle it, its actually maybe even easier than Mistlands was before we had access to magic
Magic is underpowered? Have you even tried it? The staff of the wild@lvl 3 w/100 elemental dmg DECIMATES huge groups of mobs instantly, and dundr pretty much one shots anything you fire it at as long as you're point blank.
The staff of the wild summons vines but they are stationary so you have to drag dudes in and hope they get hit. Trollstav is fun but that dude can and will turn on you if he has no targets
@@excalligatorreviews4088 Roots can Deal massive Damage If you spawn at least 3 + they can root Enemies like Primal weapons. Trollstav is arguably some of the most useful weapons in game, Grind, Distraction, Raid and Fun. At the First look i was thinking the Magic weapons arent that good.
@@excalligatorreviews4088 Trollstav is the best staff in the game bruh, solos the fortresses and boss with zero difficulty, even more if you upgrade it so you're able to summon two trolls at once. The moveset of the trolls is geared towards slow AOE damage, and anyone who has reached the ashlands should have no trouble dodge-rolling out of their attacks. If they really need to be dealt with, the dundr absolutely demolishes them, and even knocks you back while firing, providing you with a free dodge. Bonus: the meteor that spawns the trolls is itself very powerful if you can land it
Starting with a death was perfect lol literally welcome to ashlands.
Did you record this during public test? I heard the devs turned the spawn rate down since then.
Nope. This was full launch.

No spoilers now

The new staves are worst than the old ones? Nah bruh, just try Staff of the Wild, Dundr, Trollstav
