I lived in Maputo 1994 - Vila Algarve is a building I'd walk past every day and always be amazed; such a gorgeous, magnificent building. It so needs to be taken care of.

I'm so glad for African content creators. Now those of us who have only seen selective images and ideas of African countries. Can get a better understanding of these beautiful places in Africa! Now I can better plan vacations in Africa!
@@its_me_raj_00006 Yes it is! Mine broke, the screen detached from the body 😭 And I'm planning to buy another G7X 2, as soon as I can. I really miss how small and compact it was. Also, the reviews for the G7X 3 are very bad. Most vloggers still prefer the 2, so it is worth buying!
Vila Algarve was a prison during towards the end of colonialism. Jose Craiverinha was held there. It was abandoned after the Portugese left. The man who built it was a rich colonialists who sold it to the government before it was turned into a prison. There have been several projects to restore it but all failed. However in 2019 another attempt was made and a project approved. It will be turned into a museum. Hopefully within the next five years. It is my favorite ruin also. I also like the one in baixa in front of the bank. I hope they restore that one as well. Nice video. Helped me deal with homesick I miss home, am coming once they open the boarders again. Insh Allah

Decades ago I had a whole other imagination of Africa ; lions chasing zebras and women walking miles to get water , but than my niece from The Netherlands moved to Togo and sent us pictures of several cities all over Africa 😲😯😲 You can be sooo proud.
