These lyrics are better than Yoasobi’s official English lyrics imo. They just flow better with the song, but still get the meaning across. And Rachie’s vocals are perfect for this song too.
These certainly feel more 'naturally English' and seem clearer, but the way Yoasobi ver. transfers the words' rhythm and intonation *completely* untouched from JP to EN is pretty magical in its own right imo. Comparing the two only makes you appreciate both attempts more for what they are.
@@nrvnqsr4001 This version translates the meaning and emotions but take some liberties in line order and pronunciation for clarity and natural flow, official translates the meaning and keeps the majority of the vowel sounds from the original untouched but that makes for some too fast/ broken/ awkward-ish english (also official rhymes ‘before’ with ‘before’ in the line ‘I recall no one who loved me whole before’ and the line after that. I guess that’s what happens when you translate songs, you lose about 10 - 20% of the context, meaning, rhythm, melody no matter what you do.

It's interesting that at first, I was like "these lyrics kind of deviate from the original meaning somewhat, I'm not sure what I think about it", but after the first 30 seconds or so I realized what that was for, I can't describe it in any other way than "they just FLOW so well". The rhymes, the rhythm, and the meaning overall are conveyed incredibly well. The whole package is just incredibly organic feeling. Thank you! This is an amazing cover, as usual.

The vocals I say was there but some important lyrics was lost in translation such as the Lyrics where it was clear that Ai was calling herself in the 3rd person in the song. Such as the Perfect Idol love was actually The perfect Idol Ai

It’s seems like everyone and their mom is covering Idol (as they should be, this song is fire 🔥) And everyone seems to be writing their own trans-lyrics (hell I even wrote my own - I don’t even sing!) but your cover is the first time the lyrics have actually seemed to capture the original’s artistic feel. Yes there’s awkward wording and such, but that’s what makes this cover better than the rest. It may sound cheesy, but it’s like I can feel the artistic choices and bits of inspiration that went into covering this song. And I love that finally somebody understood this song’s emotions rather than just the words. Anyways great cover Rachie!!! ❤~

Where do you go on weekends when you wanna get away? I didn't eat a thing But that's how it should be" ...It sounds like she's saying she shouldn't be eating anything; but in the official english lyrics for example, they say "It's a secret, unknown!" and Will's is "I'd never spill the beans"... Honestly the trolling part is kinda fine? I prefer Will's "wrecking havoc on the media" part, but this is fine too.

It’s seems like everyone and their mom is covering Idol (as they should be, this song is fire 🔥) And everyone seems to be writing their own trans-lyrics (hell I even wrote my own - I don’t even sing!) but your cover is the first time the lyrics have actually seemed to capture the original’s artistic feel. Yes there’s awkward wording and such, but that’s what makes this cover better than the rest. It may sound cheesy, but it’s like I can feel the artistic choices and bits of inspiration that went into covering this song. And I love that finally somebody understood this song’s emotions rather than just the words. Anyways great cover Rachie!!! ❤~

I absolutely love the official English version, but the lyrics and rhyme on this one made me understand why the official one got criticized for being a word for word translation of the Japanese version.

@@liliswan207 Most of it is really good! It's mainly the beginning that sounds a bit off, which is why I couldn't get into it at first myself.

...It sounds like she's saying she shouldn't be eating anything; but in the official english lyrics for example, they say "It's a secret, unknown!" and Will's is "I'd never spill the beans"...
Honestly the trolling part is kinda fine? I prefer Will's "wrecking havoc on the media" part, but this is fine too.
