Clinton County Heat Race Part 2, Friday June 28, 2024
Wifey pulled a 28 pill which started me 5th out of 9 in the first heat race, 25 cars total, and all cars made the feature. My first A main feature at Clinton County, or so I thought! Car felt pretty good in hot laps, took the green and lost 1 spot, but coming out of 4 on lap 1, the #48 got into another car and flipped on the frontstretch. You can see that on Part 1 video. Restarted 4th, lost 1 position, but the car was running pretty good. At about the 2:02 mark of this video I hit a rut in turn 1 and bicycled pretty hard, so I moved my line up a little, but a little too much cause about 3 laps later I got in too high and right before I hit the wall I mashed the gas too try and turn the car away from the wall but it was too late and here we go for a ride. Rolled it 2 or 3 times and luckily landed on the wheels. Safety crew was there really quickly and helped me out of the car for the mandatory ambulance ride and check. Thankfully I suffered no injuries, I'm not even sore Saturday morning. Arm restraints, Simpson Hybrid head and next device, good belts, safe car, DO NOT GO CHEAP ON GOOD SAFETY EQUIPMENT IF YOU RACE!!!!! Gonna get it unloaded today and access the damage, but the frame looked fine at the track. We will be back soon!
