  • In this video, I replace the airbag control module on my 93 Mustang LX 5.0 convertible. The airbag light would flash without pausing for two minutes after starting the car. This pointed to a defective airbag control module. Different modules were used in the 90 to 93 model years. I recommend pulling the existing module and finding an airbag module with the same part number. The part number is usually located on the black connectors.
    Part Used in the Video:
Link is no longer available, the airbag control module part number in the car was E90b-14a624-ba.

Great video! Question, does it matter which side you plug the grey plug or black plug into the new control module? My original unit was unhooked already, so i couldn't see which one went where.

My airbag light flashes 6 times, pauses then keeps going another 6 times… seems it could be clockspring (my horn and cruise still works though). Looks like no more clock spring available nowadays :(

Is the window making a thumbing noise when you click the window switch?

Would you recommend just unplugging the airbag module connectors to stop the flashing airbag light?

You will still get a flash as the ECU will see the airbag module missing. The other option is to remove the airbag light.
