- In this video, I replace the airbag control module on my 93 Mustang LX 5.0 convertible. The airbag light would flash without pausing for two minutes after starting the car. This pointed to a defective airbag control module. Different modules were used in the 90 to 93 model years. I recommend pulling the existing module and finding an airbag module with the same part number. The part number is usually located on the black connectors.
Part Used in the Video:
Link is no longer available, the airbag control module part number in the car was E90b-14a624-ba.
Great video! Question, does it matter which side you plug the grey plug or black plug into the new control module? My original unit was unhooked already, so i couldn't see which one went where.
My airbag light flashes 6 times, pauses then keeps going another 6 times… seems it could be clockspring (my horn and cruise still works though). Looks like no more clock spring available nowadays :(
Nice video boss. Hey so what’s first thing I should look at it passanger windo stoped working ? Driver one works great. Happend out of no where. 89 LX
Is the window making a thumbing noise when you click the window switch?
@@chasingmustangs no noise at all boss.
@@DB509Stang Ended up having the same issue with my civic. Turned out the wires were torn from closing and opening of doors over time, crimped and reconnected resolved issue
Would you recommend just unplugging the airbag module connectors to stop the flashing airbag light?
You will still get a flash as the ECU will see the airbag module missing. The other option is to remove the airbag light.
@@chasingmustangs I thought if you removed the light bulb it would chime at you?
