Such a great SUV (SAV?). Haven't had any major problems with my '01 X5 so far, M54 engines are tanks as long as you keep up with the cooling system upkeep.
My mother had a 2002 X5, and initially she loved it, but she ended up getting rid of it because the steering was so heavy, it was causing her wrist pain.
@@BadaBing.UCF30 My mom now drives a GLE350. I drove one a few years and said "this has got to be her next vehicle". Mercedes safety with effortless steering.
@@carsandcrashtests The thing is, the x5 didn't start off as an suv for moms, the e53 was a sport and luxury take in the suv market, it wasn't until after 2008 for some reason every mom wanted these big suvs. Sometimes I let my mom drive it and she doesn't like it either but for us car guys it feels like were driving something balanced, tight but can take the rough stuff with the proper wheel setup. The F15 really started the huge trend we see today with moms driving these. I Remember growing up here in NYC, all rich guys from the club drove x5s e53 and e70 with staggered 20s during 2000-2010s.
@@aidenp5768 I feel like in the suburbs, the E53 was definitely a good balance between men and soccer moms. The W163 ML and RX300 were 99% “girl cars” though lol
in these days makes me apreciate more my 04 e53 4.4 .
like fine wine
Absolutely I love my 3.0i

@@carsandcrashtests same, my mother drives it from time to time but she is also not a fan of the heavy steering. She preferred my old '04 RX330.
