For your word building chart, instead of the curtain rod, I suggest getting magnetic hooks! that way you could just hang your rings and it wouldn't be floppy in the middle and would hang straight. lol if that makes sense! I have my pocket chart from target hanging on one and it works great!

I absolutely love my district but I SO wish I had that much of an induction! New teachers had their orientation meetings Thursday and Friday, the whole district was welcomed back yesterday, and our Back to School Night was tonight. Our first day of school is Thursday!
My district does not have a new teacher academy, I wish they did! That cup is adorable. And those white bulletin board letters look great! Maybe a handheld steamer for the rug?
The Alaskan Teacher I have to say it was a major selling point in my interview process! And it did NOT disappoint. I feel much more prepared than before. We’ll see how the rug looks when I’m in Friday- a steamer is a great idea! 😊

What an interesting way to receive a rug, huh. I've had success flattening a rug by turning over the tables on it so it applies pressure to a large space. It would look silly and take some muscle and moving but it could work depending on the weight of the tables
My big rug that I purchased was folded and rolled for almost 3 weeks, and once I got it played out, and with the air conditioner not on at nights or weekends, my rug is now laying flat!

You can buy rug tape (not sure if that’s what it’s actually called but just really heavy duty double sided tape) to stick under the rug. That way the rugs wouldn’t slide around when the kids walk/ wriggle on it, and would hopefully help it to lay a little flatter if you pulled it super tight! Hope that helps 💕

Hey! Have you tried just typing your words into Design Space? That is how I make all my bulletin board letters for my classroom. I type the word or letters out and then make them the size I want. When you go to cut it will separate the cuts for you so you can do it all at one and just reload the mat each time.

I am loving your vlogs! Just a cricut tip- you can use fonts that you have on your computer in the actual cricut design space. That way you can skip the screenshot and just add text letter by letter to the design space. I used this method to create all of my bulletin board letters using fonts like KG blank space.

Could you tell us if some of the things on your wish list would get to you in time since school is starting so soon, now ? I was looking at the two pocket folders and it said they would not ship for over a week !!! So, to be ready for students or parents back to school night you might have to buy something else because the 30 folders gifted to you from me would be too late. And then you could end up with no place to store them for maybe another whole year ?! And another example - the storage containers you selected were selected 2 months ago so I am wondering if you still want/need those. You may have come up with something else ? When you are using one design, you can click on add text. Then click on font on the top, when it pops up select system. Any font you have on your computer will shows up (even downloaded fonts from TPT). This will save you time from using PowerPoint.
Thanks for sharing your new video. Just a tip... can you add the text to Cricut design space instead of uploading from PowerPoint? I can add any font on my Mac to design space. Just a thought. Keep sharing what you do. Love it all!!!!!!!
If you have the font downloaded, it should show up in Design Space. I will cut a few steps off your process. Also, you can unlock the letter and use the height and width buttons on the top. There are so many videos on TH-cam to explain it. I enjoy your vlogs. Good luck with your first year.

I am loving your vlogs! Just a cricut tip- you can use fonts that you have on your computer in the actual cricut design space. That way you can skip the screenshot and just add text letter by letter to the design space. I used this method to create all of my bulletin board letters using fonts like KG blank space.
You can also add all of the letters you need for the project and the cricut will automatically use the least amount of paper possible!

Hi! I'm a teacher in The Netherlands (Holland) and I love that Cricut machine you use in this video! I looked it up on the internet but they are €360,- (which is $400)! Is that a normal price or can you get them cheaper in America??
Hi Lauren - I really enjoy seeing your classroom take shape and your videos are very cute and enthusiastic ! Could you tell us if some of the things on your wish list would get to you in time since school is starting so soon, now ? I was looking at the two pocket folders and it said they would not ship for over a week !!! So, to be ready for students or parents back to school night you might have to buy something else because the 30 folders gifted to you from me would be too late. And then you could end up with no place to store them for maybe another whole year ?! And another example - the storage containers you selected were selected 2 months ago so I am wondering if you still want/need those. You may have come up with something else ? SO could you go through your list and make changes if necessary .... if any of the items would come too late ? THANKS ! Have a great school year ! When you are using one design, you can click on add text. Then click on font on the top, when it pops up select system. Any font you have on your computer will shows up (even downloaded fonts from TPT). This will save you time from using PowerPoint.

Thanks for sharing your new video. Just a tip... can you add the text to Cricut design space instead of uploading from PowerPoint? I can add any font on my Mac to design space. Just a thought. Keep sharing what you do. Love it all!!!!!!!
If you have the font downloaded, it should show up in Design Space. I will cut a few steps off your process. Also, you can unlock the letter and use the height and width buttons on the top. There are so many videos on TH-cam to explain it. I enjoy your vlogs. Good luck with your first year.

I think with the school supplies stuff you should send out a list for students to buy. If you check out Pocketful of Primary her last years back to school night has some tips in asking parents for donations. She has great tips for first year teachers as a teacher myself.
