You saved me $200 with a garage that had a bad attitude, one screw to remove the housing, then push the tab near your thumb and iit came straight out, replacement cylinder which is ordered online for $50, took 5 mins to do the whole job at my own home with the minimum of tools, thanks so much!
I had my key measured, it was well within specs. It's a problem with the cylinder. I did the "tap key with a light hammer blow" and it turned OK, then I replaced the cylinder. Solved.
That's great but you didn't show how you remove the cylinder from the case it has code you need to change do. You have a video for that? I need . To see one
THANK YOU SO MUCH THAT HELPED ALOT AND LIKE EVERYONE ELSE LOL I USED A SCREWDRIVER WHICH WAS THE CLOSEST LOL ... I DO APPRECIATE U POSTING A HOW TO AND LEAVING A GREAT DESCRIPTION ... UR THE MAN!!!!!
@habsfan898989 I sprayed ALOT of WD 40 in it, then put the key in and hit it a few times with a hammer. Straight in. Then kept trying to turn it, back and forth until I got it. It took awhile, but eventually it turned. Once (if) you get it to turn and start, don't turn it off or else you won't be able to remove the cylinder. Good Luck!

To check the ignition switch do you need the ignition cylinder connected to it ?
yes, adding ; put light turning pressure on key while smacking it straight in. (plastic screwdriver handle works well)
thank you, thank you, thank you! God bless you, Sir.
what if the key works fine but it does not start the engine plz need help
Really Helpful, how do i remove the piece that attachs to the Ignition Switch? is a long piece of metal or something that somethimes it breaks
Thanks for the video.
PRgencoupe, I'm sorry, I do not know. This was purely to help with the cylinder removal process. Best of luck!
I was stuck in the parking lot with the exact same problem just started whacking it hard with my hand and it worked now able to get home
very common, I've replaced many . (locksmith) -
Putting new wafers in the old locks doesnt seem to last long- so we replace then now.
i dont have the key, thats why i need to replace the cylinder. how do you do it without the key???
@Cryptision Media it's 200 bucks for him to do that compared to 14.99
Interesting. Me and Anna have never worked on cars though because we don't have cars in Arendelle

OMG my key wouldn't turn.. I hit it with a hammer and it worked I love you!
mine comes out half way and it locks on something that prevents it from all the way coming out!
That was sure helpful!
Thank you so very much.
What is the point of these videos showing it outside of the vehicle, with no ignition switch. Yes it would be easy if it were just lying there
well bitch take it out😂
How messed up is this? DUHHHH
