    6000 a month is a super high amount now But i feel like in 20 years i guess it may not so high at all .

      I’m retiring this year and I can tell you that $6K/mo is way high. I need literally half that plus my social security to continue my standard of living when I retire. I suppose that much it depends on which region of the country you live in. If I were living in California now, for example, I would be high-tailing it out of there.

      @@byteme0000 in 20 years tho . if we look at whats happening to other fiat currencies we can see the possible quick failure of USD . Regular inflation is bad enough over 20 years , especially for the majority who don't invest

    Love the information. Do you think SS will be around much longer? I believe most people don’t count it when calculating what they will need in retirement.

    • @yourfinancialekg
      @yourfinancialekg  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it will be around in some form or fashion. Possibly lower benefits or older retirement dates. Thanks for the question!

    As a couple we will be retiring In a few months full retirement age. We will be getting real close to 6,000 a month on SS.

    Great video, Josh! I always enjoy your content. I am 50, and have a decent amount saved in my 401K and Roth IRA/brokerage accounts, and am hoping to reach financial freedom by 55 or 56, once my mortgage is paid off. I try to not use the term retirement, because I still plan on doing something to make a little money, maybe waiting tables at a beach front restaurant on the Gulf Coast or selling t-shirts outside of a National Park. 🤩The figure needed in your example is a bit higher than what I come up with using some of the online retirement calculators, but I don't plan on living to 98 years old, either. I should probably hit you up for a Financial EKG, TBH. In the meantime, keep up the great work.

      I retired at 64 will far less, still have a smaller income from part time work and a small pension. Establish a budget and have a plan. I'm also young enough to enjoy some of those Go-Go years.

      Not necessarily. You have to have a plan & a budget. Almost nobody could retire if it took >$1,000,000 in savings. Look at your individual expenses, get out of debt before you quit. I did it 5 years ago and am doing well.
