My dream is make game which feature sentient AI character for my story. Eg handmade AI.

This is the first time I've seen any "practical" use of the new AI art stuff. I'm honestly impressed at how _useful_ this is. Made a decent looking texture pack with a whole lot less effort. Just goes to show that while AI won't necessarily replace humans, it will reduce the amount of tedious work by a significant margin. Someone from 2012 would probably be impressed with this pack. Something this AI is also really good at is distant scenery shots, which can serve as backgrounds of art pieces as they are or be the inspirational base to work off of. In general, using the AI's results and the process that goes into formulating and refining the prompts as a source of inspiration is probably the best use for craiyon as it stands though.
This is one of my main points, it still took this guy an entire days worth of time pretty much to edit, polish, and compile everything and make sure it works. Ai is a very useful tool and i can definitely see smaller companies or even larger ones using it alongside other software to lets say, make a bunch of background rocks and textures thats there purely for flavor instead of making a team do that all night
Just a reminder that crayon is separate from dall-e! Crayon made their own image generation ai that isn’t quite as good as dall-e, and called themselves dall-e mini to piggyback off the success of dall-e. Dall-e, correctly, asked them to change their name to avoid confusion between the two, and they chose crayon as their new name.
iirc it was the same _architecture_ as dall·e, just smaller same goes for gpt-neo, which i can't quite articulate why it wasn't renamed; i guess `dall·e` is more of a brand name whereas `gpt` is a generic acronym (`generative pretrained transformer`)
Honestly you should make another AI texture pack where the ai is just given the word for the item, and the picture it comes out with is the full texture
I would like to point out that craiyon was not "formerly DALL-E", but "formerly DALL-E MINI". there is a huge difference between DALL-E and the mini version.
@@SkeleTonHammer The AI is based on images taken from the internet, if you search texture the images will be flat, because that is what a texture looks like. Therefore the AI will produce flat images when you put the word texture. Literally all you had to do was test it out to prove that it works.
I think one thing that might be useful is more careful specification of three prompt. One big issue with these is that many are not tileable. To fix this, one solution is to make them tileable in an image editor. A more fun solution is to tell the AI to make them tileable and let it try its best.

Dall-E and Craiyon aren't the same thing, Craiyon is a rebrand of Dall-E MINI, Dall-E still exists, and it's much more advanced, but only select artists have access to it.

I did a quick test, I think the prompt "tileable image of ___" might work slightly better, and avoids inserting a shape into the prompt. Some of the items in Minecraft are *not* fit for generation, though
I have never been more disgusted when looking at the prompt "Rotten Flesh". I don't think anything that i have seen on the ai website can compare to this revolting piece of art. Please don't ever remind me of that group of nauseating pixels.

Podzol is really common in there Pacific Northwest, it's like a mat of decomposing pine needles that covers the forest floor. It's squishy and less dense than normal dirt, and too acidic for many plants like grasses to take root in.
I love that he keeps crediting it as DALL-E but that's actually a different AI entirely (craiyon was called 'DALL-E mini', named after the *actual* DALL-E)

I've found that the OpenAI has been extremely helpful in visualizing game concepts and drawing concept art for me.
I use this AI to create textures and matcaps for unity materials, works when you need something specific in a pinch
