For girls who grew up with Star Wars in the late 90’s early 2000’s, Padmé was our Princess Leia. A lot of us looked up to her as inspiration and as a source of empowerment. Always thought she was an awesome character, and it wasn’t just because she was pretty. Seeing her torn up but unbothered, fighting side by side with the jedi at the climax of ep. 2, was always a highlight for me as a kid.
Absolutely! I adored Padme growing up. She was powerful and charismatic and commanded the respect of those around her while still retaining the typically feminine characteristics of being compassionate and nurturing (and yes, having pretty dresses). I loved that she was both strong AND kind, like those things don't have to be mutually exclusive, yet they tend to be portrayed that way in most movies.
The fact that Palpatine considered Padme to be a problem should underscore how important and influential she was. She was one of the few characters in Star Wars to do things that threw him off guard, multiple times. It happened in The Phantom Menace when she went back to Naboo to fight, and twice that I can remember in The Clone Wars. The first is in "Heroes on Both Sides" when she and Ahsoka sneak into Separatist territory to kick-start negotiations. When she informs Palpatine that she has made contact with the Separatist government and that they want to talk, we see him turn away, frowning, and ask "How was this contact established?" Then in "Pursuit of Peace," Padme delivers a passionate speech about how the war is affecting Republic citizens, and manages to sway the senate away from voting for further clone production. Afterward, we see Palpatine exasperated, and when Mas Amedda asks what he's going to do, he says "For now we must adhere to the principles of our democracy. We must let the wheels of the senate turn." Ian Abercrombie brilliantly delivers the last word through gritted teeth, demonstrating how pissed he is at being forced back into a waiting position. Palpatine viewed most people as pawns to be played, but he viewed Padme as an obstacle to get around or eliminate, someone that could actually pose a threat to his plans. AND SHE WASN'T EVEN FORCE SENSITIVE. She was just a damn good politician.
I agree completely, I always love that Padme proves that anyone can make a difference, and the fact that she could be a legitimate threat to a Sith Lord brings that point home.
Funny how she was one of Palpatine’s biggest obstacles and ended up being his Wild Card. It was Anakin’s love for Padme that pushed him to the dark side and sealed the downfall of the republic.
I'd like to highlight the sentiment behind "I don't like sand". Padme was saying, "Sand reminds me of beaches, of good memories from my childhood before the world got complicated." Anakin was saying, "Sand reminds me of my childhood too, of the cruel desert and the slavery I lived in. I don't have those memories like you do, life was miserable."
It’s too bad that the wording could not have been tweaked slightly to emphasize that a little bit more. I appreciate the subtlety, but Anakin’s next set of lines feels slightly out of left field, which might be the intent given his total inexperience in flirting.
She really is the unsung hero of the prequels. She even put the idea of there being still good in Anikan to Obi wan right before she died. This theme is central to the plot which was passed on to her child Luke.
In ROTJ, you can clearly see how Luke inherited Padme's best qualities, when he is dealing with Jabba, Vader, and Palpatine, he acts diplomatic and peaceful (almost like a negotiator) but isn't afraid to go down fighting.
@@SpFlash1523 Luke also inherited Padme’s heart, her compassion which is what saved Anakin from the dark side. Palpatine may have won in the short term, but in the long run Padme won against him. I hope that Padmé and Anakin reunited after he became a force ghost, they should be together for all time.
When Vader watched luke writhing on the floor in extreme pain from the emperor. I cant imagine how much he was thinking about Padme in that moment and the last conversation they ever had where she begged him to come back and he turned his back on her and his child. He was not about to make that mistake again.

Despite obvious complaints about how the romance between her and Anakin was presented, Padme is still a fantastic character! She balances kindness and bravery quite nicely and is not afraid to get into a fight. I'm starting to see how some of her qualities show in Luke and Leia, which this video can shed light on much better than I could. Kudos!
@The Infamous Debatable. I don't think her relationships between both Anakin and Palpatine are underdeveloped... Or well, of course I would want to see more of my favorite characters, but I think there's enough screen time for them, with maybe a few exceptions. Even if I would think that she's an underdeveloped character, I would be lying if I said that she's not important at all. She's not only the wife of Anakin, but also the mother of Luke and Leia. She's (probably) unaware of it, but she threw Palpatine (a Sith Lord!) off guard a few times and she's also one of the reasons why Anakin turned to the dark side, and why he turned back to the light.
YES no moment frustrated me more in the entire prequel trilogy than when Mace immediately dismisses her suspicion about Dooku. And when they realize she's right, no one apologizes or remembers "Padmę warned us.." or asks what other wisdom she might have.
No politicians have business with Jedi for whatever reason. Let's be honest Padme was better off with the Saiyans of Dragon Ball because despite their lust for fights they are damn willing to listen
It never occurred to me before, but I think part of the reason Padme takes an interest in Anakin in Episode II, aside from their bond as children, is that he is the only Jedi who is willing to help her discover who is after her. He's also the only one who listens and agrees with her ideas, never talking down to her, unlike the other Jedi, whom always talk condescendingly to her. Your reasoning for why they become attracted to each other makes sense: both are forced by their careers to adopt a public persona at odds with their sense of being. Padme always has to be the regal leader, and Anakin has to be the stoic Jedi, but both feel that this persona is at odds with who they are, This contrasts with Palpatine, who knows he's playing a role but does so with a clear sense of his own (twisted) self. Therefore, it actually makes senses they would feel a pull to each other. I admit the Prequels have problems. But I also think that they demand more engagement from the viewer than the Original trilogy. There is a logic to the films, but it often involves thinking carefully about the context, meaning, and symbolism presented.

Great character analysis! Padme has always been one of my favourite non-force users. She was smart and compassionate but learned to understand that battle sometimes had to happen. I have always felt that people forget about her and think about her as only Anakin’s love interest, but she is much more then that. I wish she was mentioned more and utilised more. Great video.
I mean the fact that she did nothing in ROTS and her whole arc was just being pregnant, but clone wars definitely did justice to her character. She was a total badass in that
@@phoenixgray9231 The real kicked for ROTS Padme is that she had a whole damn arc that planted the seeds of the Rebellion, made Anakins of losing her more real as she keep a secret from him and had a great scene in which Anakin choose Palaptin over her which really really helps to explain her death at the end. The problem is IT WAS ALL CUT. Its on the special features of the DVD's and I suspect it was cut because is was a lot of political talk and George had enough of getting hate mails for have to much Politics in his movies. Its really a shame how Padme became a nothing in episode 3 because all of her story was cut.
@@rynobehnke8289 Lucas was betrayed by the fandom so I understand why he sold it to Disney. I wish fan manga creator ARJ was the CEO of Lucasfilm instead of Kennedy tho
Padme has become one of my favorite characters, especially in Star Wars. Her ability to get beyond her dogmatic political beliefs in thinking, "They are the enemy! They will destroy us! They must be defeated!", and instead be willing to be humble and listen. All the rest of the galaxy was driven by fear and political propaganda from one side or the other, but Padme ALONE (even more than the wise sages of the Jedi) was able to see through all the lies, all the politics, all the propaganda, and all the fear mongering. She lived her life to warn the galaxy of these things, but the galaxy did not listen. Turning against her, she died as the Republic collapsed in on itself for the things she tried to warn them against.
At least her spirit lived on in the form of the rebellion against Palpatine and his Empire, and in her twin children Luke and Leia. In time her children Luke and Leia would spark new hope in the galaxy and avenge her.
The only way the galaxy could have listened to her is if she followed Ultra Vegito's example by killing these fanatical politicians because they behaved like they have an over the top god complex. The nexus event: Anakin dies against Dooku in AOTC. Would love to see a what if where it's Padme who goes mad instead of Anakin
Padmé was a truly one in a billion person. Even after Anakin has fallen to the dark side, Padmé is willing to forgive him and knows that is our choices that make us who we are far more than our abilities. Violence must always be a last resort if at all. I would go so far as to say that Padmé, Luke and Leia are the three characters that are full of hope and goodness.
Padme would remain a thorn in Palpatine’s side to the very end. Even after her untimely passing she would continue to oppose Palpatine in the form of the rebellion, and more importantly in her two children Luke and Leia. Her children would go onto destroy Palpatine and his Empire, and bring her Anakin back from the dark side.
One of the tragic things about Padme and Anakin was that they truly loved each other...but their relationship was absolutely toxic. Still, they were extremely similar in some ways. Neither entirely trust the Republic. They both wanted to help people and "fix" the galaxy. They both were dedicated and idealistic. I think that the two could have potentially lived happily ever after if wasn't for the Jedi Order's stupid rules and Palpatine's meddling.
I agree, they could’ve had a wonderful life if not for the stupid Jedi code, and Palpatine’s manipulation. It’s too bad that Obi Wan didn’t follow Padme and Qui Gon’s example and show Anakin compassion, and understanding? I don’t believe that it was a mistake for them to be together, otherwise we wouldn’t have met her two remarkable children Luke and Leia.
how can we praise Luke Skywalker for his courage bravery and kindess and completely disregard Padme like bruh who you think passed down those qualities, luke is the continuation of padme and it can be seen in a symbolic way when padme life ended luke's one started and he carried on his mothers legacy like a good son.

I love how in Episode III, just after the (then) Emperor declared the Republic to be no more: Padme glared across the Senate - as if she was wondering "why is nobody opposing this."
Great video. I’ve felt like Padme was the most underrated character (especially among Female Protagonists) in Star Wars/General films. One issue: you mentioned the ‘Sand’ quote without noticing the context/nuance from Padme ten seconds earlier. She says ‘I love the Water.’ While talking about her beautiful upbringing in paradise and then ends with laying on the beach made of *sand* Then Anakin responds with a personal experience that she and three others (soon to be just Obi Wan) would understand. His hatred of sand...which Tatooine was made out of. I wish people would stop calling the dialogue in the prequels bad when they make perfect sense for each individual in the moment. Again, great video 👍

@@nestorsifuentesaguirre2722 If it was discarded it was for a reason, definitely And it seems like a mischaracterization of how she would have handled things, at least with how she has been built. The situation wouldn't have even been the same. Still, I do believe she did have a breaking point, and she showed it in the Clone Wars show in multiple situations. I remember vividly the episode where Anakin creates chaos in their shared bedroom when he became jealous of an old friend of hers, and how she does fight back about it. Still, the video sums it up perfectly. She still tried to reason with him in a pacific way before turning it into a hostile situation. Yes, Padme might've been able to leave Anakin at some point. But she would still love him dearly, even if it wasn't romantic love anymore I do believe that if she had survived, she would've started the rebellion against him and Palps, but not with the intent of harming him. For all the talk about Star Wars not having strong female characters and those who act like Rey was the very first, it makes me sad for the female characters who are strong and well developed. And I'm not just talking about Padme or Leia, I'm speaking of Ashoka Tano, Mara Jade, Assaj Ventress, Cara Dune, Jyn Erso (not joking), Shaak Ti, Hera Syndulla, Jaina Solo, and even Satine Kryze, all of whom have been amazing characters in the world of Star Wars. And a good chunk of them were created during the Lucas era before Disney's takeover. But the greatest out of all of them is Padme. She truly fought for the people and tried to make the best of the situations she found herself in. And despite her attempts to put the people first, she did manage to find a balance by also chasing after what she wanted as well. She fell in love and married Anakin because she wanted to, while still remaining loyal to her duty for the people. And she isn't afraid to get into a real fight if needed.
Padmé Amidala is a great character, my favorite actually, the romance with her and Anakin has it’s flaws but she’s a great character, her character throughout the movie has great bravery and kindness and it balances it very well. Padmé isn’t afraid to get into a fight either, she’s fearless as her daughter would become, as well as her son, Luke & Leia. She’s one of the best characters there is. I loved this video. You couldn’t have said it any better!

I think a lot of the hate the prequels get is due to the fact that people don’t understand that the movies are not about Anakin. He is not the protagonist of the films. The story is really about Padme and Palpatine. Padme is the protagonist and Palpatine is the antagonist who’s victory is dependent on which one of them can get Anakin on their side. Padme was not only the true adversary to Palpatine from a political perspective but also from the perspective of her relationship with Anakin. And while Palpatine does turn Anakin to the dark side and replaces the republic with the empire, Padme is the one who ultimately wins due to her relationship with Anakin which resulted in Luke and Leia who were the perfect balance of Anakins power with Padme’s ideals and compassion. It really is interesting to rewatch the films in order from 1 to 6 and see it as a long battle between Padme and Palpatine.
Wow, I'd never thought it about that way! I love this interpretation, adds so much to the story! The only thing is it makes the fact that so much of Padme's arc in RotS got cut from the final, leaving her with very little to do in that movie, even more disappointing!
I have to agree, while Palpatine may have won in the short term, in the long run Padme prevailed against him. Both Luke and Leia inherited the best of both Anakin and Padme. When Luke refuses to destroy Anakin and turn to the dar side ROTJ I can’t help but see Padme’s defiance in him. Luke was able to feel the good that was still in Anakin just like Padmé did, and because he inherited her compassion he was able to turn him back to the light. I hope that Anakin and Padme met again after he became a force ghost.
Great video! I hope this series gets a lot more recognition. Padme is so under appreciated. She was a great character with so much development. I personally believe Anakin/Vader is the greatest character in the Star Wars Universe, which makes sense due to George Lucas also referring to Star Wars as the tragedy of Anakin Skywalker.I can’t wait for your video on him.
I know what you mean, but at least her spirit lived, she inspired many people to form a rebellion against Palpatine and his Empire. And to add a cherry on top her twin children Luke and Leia would go on to avenge her, and Luke would even bring back her beloved Anakin from the dark side. Palpatine may have won the battle in Ep. III, but Padmé ultimately won the war.
It's honestly sad how some people just go: 'Padmé is a bitch, Anakin's turn was too fast, CGI/acting/dialogue bad.' Because there is SO MUCH to talk about, it's honestly sad how many people literally exclude so much important context as to why George Lucas did the things he did, and how he did it. 'George Lucas, why did you create Star Wars?' That's the real question. Sadly many people think: 'What do I want from George Lucas?' is the real question... It isn't.
@The Infamous No. No no NO. Why are you here? Are you going to ruin every comment thread here too like you did with mister Rick Worley and Style is Substance?
Always loved Padme. The problem with so many writers now is that they think making a "strong female character" is essentially just making them like a man. Want to see a "strong woman"? Let's have this 100lb twig kick some bodybuilder's ass, that'll show people that girls can be strong too! It gets really silly sometimes. When this kind of writing happens, these characters completely lose their femininity and it comes across as forced and unrealistic (which it is). Padme, like Leia, is a strong, smart, and brave character but does not lose her feminine grace in the process. She sees a brick wall and doesn't find a way to run through it, but rather finds a way to go around it. Lucas was able to write these characters in a way so that they are strong and we can look up to them, but they do not lose something essential to their nature. When she breaks down at the end of ROTS, it makes that scene with Anakin much more powerful because we see her weak and broken for the first and only time in the series.
But Lucas was a fool for discarding a bloodthirsty reaction to Anakin from Padme's part imo. I kinda wished she was the Son Gohan to Vader's Cell to see what happens.
And, she's STUNNINGLY beautiful. (Which doesn't hurt.) 🔥 Seriously though, she's like the most perfect example of the pinnacle of all human evolution, if Aliens arrived and decided to pick out the quintessential specimen of the perfect human female, they'd undoubtedly choose Natalie Portman. She's absolutely magnificent.

I can't remember where I heard this from, but the last part of the sentence stuck with me. It goes, "and the last person who still believes there is good in him, is dead." Now every time I see Padme's death, I think of this chilling prospect.

Great video! I can’t believe you don’t have more views or subscribers! Padme has long been my favourite character aside from Qui Gon. The Phantom Menace was one of the first movies I saw in theatres, and as a six year old girl I thought she was amazing. Obi Wan I think is one of the most tragic characters, if we aren’t counting Padme or Anakin. Obi Wan first loses his master, then his love Satine, his brother Anakin, and the whole Jedi Order. Rex is another tragic figure, as he was born for a purpose that was the opposite of what he thought his purpose to be. And ended up having to turn on his own brothers.
This was truly an amazing analysis of one of my very favorite Star Wars characters. Padme has always held a special place for me and to see her story so beautifully analyzed and interpreted? Absolutely perfect!
It's cute that you think Qui Gon didn't know that that was Padme the entire time 😂. Love the series though, very entertaining, informative and insightful 🙂👍
The Darth Sidious wanting Padme dead but don't want to get his hand dirty, so he give the order to Count Dooku. Dooku have the same thought so he hire the bounty hunter. The bounty hunter don't want to get hands dirty as well so he hire an assassin to do the job. The assassin don't want to put herself in dangerous, so she send an droid to kill Pademe. The Droid... dear lord don't want to do the job either, so it send two bugs to kill Padme while she sleeping and eventually get cut into pieces by Anakin Skywalker. What a great chain of outsourcing!
Padme set an example to what Luke had to learn- trust in others, but also trust yourself. She represents the balance between professional and personal, between idealism and pragmatism, between leading armies and stopping war, when to stand up for what's right vs when to do something impulsive for your own emotional needs, between intellect and emotion. My headcanon is that Bail raised Leia always with Padme in mind- he and Padme shared the same values of determination, sacrifice, and justice. She almost destroyed Palpatine and was a constant thorn in his side, and Luke only avenges her by taking on her qualities of selflessness and trust. Sidious almost destroyed Luke the same way he destroyed her- using emotional connections to break them. However, ultimately, those connections destroyed Sidious; I think that ultimately Padme convinced Obi-Wan to tell Luke the truth about Anakin despite Obi-Wan's trauma forcing a dissociation and his insecurity making him lie to Luke (Luke confronts him, and Obi-Wan spills), and Luke unconsciously took on her ideals by showing compassion to Vader.
I agree, even after her passing her two children Luke and Leia would go on to oppose Palpatine and avenge her. Luke inherited Anakin’s spirit, but he also inherited Padme’s heart. When Luke refused to slay Anakin and turn to the dark side (ROTJ) it was like when Padmé refused to go along with him during her times as the senator of Naboo. Palpatine probably saw the same spirit of defiance in Luke’s eyes that he once saw in Padme, and that really upset him. Luke was able to save Anakin from himself just as Padmé would’ve. I just can’t help but imagine Padme’s spirit calling out to Anakin just before he turned against Palpatine to save Luke.
What if Pong Krell infiltrated Padme's ship in ROTS??? I mean all of you were wondering nonstop what everything could have been if it was Ahsoka or Clovis but Krell would be a interesting change. Would Krell stab Vader before he attempted to Force Choke Padme??
21:45 I don't think it's fair to say that Anakin wants to continue the war (although he certainly has a different idea on the "how" of it) - in that moment, he reacts the way he does because it sounds like Padme is trying to do the same thing the Council did, to take advantage of his friendship with Palpatine to manipulate him and thus abuse Palpatine's trust in him. The fact that it's for a cause that Anakin doesn't believe in (questioning Sheev's handling of the war and seeking peace without victory) is the icing on the cake. Good video, by the way, on an underrated character. I've always found it notable how Padme goes from her "this democracy no longer functions" line in Episode One - willing to change the system if it interferes with her goals - to the absolute faith she places in democracy in AOTC and ROTS, sounding downright passive when Anakin points out the system doesn't always work in their meadow picnic conversation.
That's ironic Padme starts as the Queen. Palpatine is a Senator. 2 films later they switch. Palpatine rises while Padme frees herself up by downgrading. Padme even loses her man to the same guy.
What do you think of an early draft about Padme leaving Anakin mostly dead instead of Obi Wan?? Would you accept if especially since even Padme should have had a breaking point?
I’ve seen some people criticizing Padmé’s passivity in Episode III, but I actually think it is in character for her. She doesn’t like violence, she only fights as a last resort. Of course she wouldn’t want to take part in the war, she’d try to end it, which, by my knowledge, she tried to do in the Clone Wars.
Padme was right about Anakin and Obi Wan was wrong, love and compassion is what Anakin needed. I think there was still a possibility that she could’ve turned Anakin back from the dark side if only Obi Wan hadn’t been here. Luke is more like Padme which is why he was able to get through to Anakin. Anakin was answering Padme as much as Luke when he said “you were right about me”, like Qui Gon, and Luke she never gave up on him.
I agree, she understood that Anakin’s actions were driven by his emotional turmoil and Palpatine’s manipulation. She knew that Anakin still had good in him, and Luke proved that by showing him compassion just like her.
Maan, I did not give padme enough credit when I was a kid. I was more interested in the cool Jedi and the lightsabers and the fighting 😂. She’s so underrated.

What could have been if Anakin died insetad of Padme tho?? I ask this because in WandaVision and Multiverse of Madness the Scarlet Witch's many losses caused her to become very toxic and psychotic gf and mother. In a grizzly what if I hope Lucasfilm creates a scenario where Padme sacrifices so many lives because she could not let go of Ani like Vision could not let go of the Zombie Witch
Have any of you ever wondered why Padme trusts and never questioned anakin about the temple attack even when he told her that the jedi were evil? It's because of her mistake in trusting a man named Rush Clovis more than twice. Despite trusting him twice, Clovis betrayed her on both accounts and anakin new that it was a bad idea to ever trust or much less sympathize with him. For not listening to Anakin, she got many people killed, almost lost her husband and nearly got her killed despite it being for good intentions. After Clovis's death, Padme would never doubt Anakin again until it took Obiwan gave her evidence about what really happened.
The Trade Federation caused this relationship doomed to fail but THE last straw was both Clovis and the Order refusing to listen to Ahsoka as well as making up what they actually did apparently

Padme is the politician i wish we had irl
Funny how she was one of Palpatine’s biggest obstacles and ended up being his Wild Card. It was Anakin’s love for Padme that pushed him to the dark side and sealed the downfall of the republic.
I really want to see " what if" scenario - what if Padme was force sensitive - not like a sith, just what if she can sense the Force?
The recent Padme novels are great and explore this a little bit
I'd like to highlight the sentiment behind "I don't like sand". Padme was saying, "Sand reminds me of beaches, of good memories from my childhood before the world got complicated." Anakin was saying, "Sand reminds me of my childhood too, of the cruel desert and the slavery I lived in. I don't have those memories like you do, life was miserable."
it shows the contrast of their childhoods
It’s too bad that the wording could not have been tweaked slightly to emphasize that a little bit more. I appreciate the subtlety, but Anakin’s next set of lines feels slightly out of left field, which might be the intent given his total inexperience in flirting.
THANK YOU, people got caught on the meme bandwagon of that line and forgetting the context.
@@omeometeotlyes - you can see the resentment and grief in Anakin in the family scene that wasn’t in the original film.
That’s actually a really astute catch. I’d definitely never considered it that way. Thank you for making that clearer :)
I remember getting chills when she said - ' This is how liberty dies, with thunderous applause.'

ANAKIN
When Vader watched luke writhing on the floor in extreme pain from the emperor. I cant imagine how much he was thinking about Padme in that moment and the last conversation they ever had where she begged him to come back and he turned his back on her and his child. He was not about to make that mistake again.
Serious question: what do you think about people who think her fate in ROTS was rightfully deserved after the Clovis events (Clone Wars)??? Not making you agree or disagree on those opinions. Just wanting to try and conclude that Anakin ain't the sole guy who deserved therapy. Maybe Padme should have sought therapy too
Despite obvious complaints about how the romance between her and Anakin was presented, Padme is still a fantastic character! She balances kindness and bravery quite nicely and is not afraid to get into a fight. I'm starting to see how some of her qualities show in Luke and Leia, which this video can shed light on much better than I could. Kudos!
Thanks!
The romance was amazing! Very sweet.. and pure, if you will. One of my favorite love stories of all time.
@The Infamous So does that mean she's not a bad character? Because she's also a politician (and she was a queen at young age)
@The Infamous Okay... And? Is that a bad thing? She doesn't necessarily need to have that, she can be her own person in a story.

@The Infamous What about strong-willed, loyal, responsible and brave?
@The Infamous Well... Kinda? But she doesn't just do the things she does because she's 'just kind'.
@The Infamous Kinda... More or less. I think an important question to ask here is 'Why is she so kind?'
Completely agree with you, in so many ways they are drawn to one another because they understand and appreciate each other's potential and virtues.

Thanks, I'm really glad you enjoyed the video. And I definitely agree, she's a great character with more depth to her than just being a love interest
Idk I think padme is just my favourite character in the prequel trilogy

@@jmwilliamsartand when Anakin decided to grow up and take accountability, he finished the job
I love that the clone wars doubled down on making her character even more badass and fleshed out.

I always liked Padme, and I even enjoy the romance in episode two. But after this video I finally realise what a great character she really is
Great video. I’ve felt like Padme was the most underrated character (especially among Female Protagonists) in Star Wars/General films. One issue: you mentioned the ‘Sand’ quote without noticing the context/nuance from Padme ten seconds earlier. She says ‘I love the Water.’ While talking about her beautiful upbringing in paradise and then ends with laying on the beach made of *sand*
Then Anakin responds with a personal experience that she and three others (soon to be just Obi Wan) would understand. His hatred of sand...which Tatooine was made out of.
I wish people would stop calling the dialogue in the prequels bad when they make perfect sense for each individual in the moment. Again, great video 👍

If it was discarded it was for a reason, definitely
And it seems like a mischaracterization of how she would have handled things, at least with how she has been built.
But she would still love him dearly, even if it wasn't romantic love anymore
I do believe that if she had survived, she would've started the rebellion against him and Palps, but not with the intent of harming him.
She would've tried to bring him back to the light side, and I do believe she would've succeeded.

Padmé deserved better and always its a good moment to remind that. Thank you for this video

I used to think Padme was a boring character, but now I realize just how amazing she is!
What do you think of an early draft about Padme leaving Anakin mostly dead instead of Obi Wan?? Would you accept if especially since even Padme should have had a breaking point?

She is a great and underappreciatee character
(Which doesn't hurt.) 🔥
Seriously though, she's like the most perfect example of the pinnacle of all human evolution, if Aliens arrived and decided to pick out the quintessential specimen of the perfect human female, they'd undoubtedly choose Natalie Portman.

17:49 First sign that Anakin loves Padme for her intellect, but doesn't truly respect her for it
Fine as heck
This is so great, you deserve more views
What a beautiful video. Still great in 2023.
What if Pong Krell infiltrated Padme's ship in ROTS??? I mean all of you were wondering nonstop what everything could have been if it was Ahsoka or Clovis but Krell would be a interesting change. Would Krell stab Vader before he attempted to Force Choke Padme??
Watching theses i am starting to realize how deeply ep1 is underrated
Love her character and personality and drive .
What do you think of an early draft about Padme leaving Anakin mostly dead instead of Obi Wan?? Would you accept if especially since even Padme should have had a breaking point?
I love her character so much. I fully share your opinion about Padme. She's literally a queen 👑
This is so sad, i cried after the video. Long may gone but you're always remember Queen Amidala of Nabu ~
Very good video mate! This deserves more attention!
This is really interesting. But I think that Anakin is the most tragic character.
It’s hard to have sympathy for Anakin because he’s such a POS.
@@jmwilliamsart But what if Padme was trained by saiyans? Would her belief on Ani waver for real? Would she be more Kakarot than Goku?
That was a beautiful analysis!
This is an excelent video! Great analisis and quality! 👀🙌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This deserves waaay more views!
Thanks I appreciate it and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
The unspoken hero of the saga
I agree, she understood that Anakin’s actions were driven by his emotional turmoil and Palpatine’s manipulation. She knew that Anakin still had good in him, and Luke proved that by showing him compassion just like her.
Really solid video, nicely done!
Maan, I did not give padme enough credit when I was a kid. I was more interested in the cool Jedi and the lightsabers and the fighting 😂. She’s so underrated.
Where can we get warrior Queens like this? Fight with blasters then din a gorgeous dress with in 3 hours time. Anakin stood no chance😂 Seeing her so badass going from diplomat to warrior to queen god I’d fall in love too ❤🎉 💫
Padmé was a chosen One 🎉
This was so good thank you
Dude you got less than 300 subs??? This is so much frickin quality!!!
SUBBED!!!
Narrator, "opposing views...."
(Insert kitty litter commercial)
Me thinking, who is pro scooping?
Anakin "I hate sand"
Padme and Quigon were the voices of reason in the prequels.... To bad they're the ones who died.
Serious question: what do you think about people who think her fate in ROTS was rightfully deserved after the Clovis events (Clone Wars)??? Not making you agree or disagree on those opinions. Just wanting to try and conclude that Anakin ain't the sole guy who deserved therapy. Maybe Padme should have sought therapy too and imagine what could have been if QuiGon lived and bore witness of Anakin almost being the same animal as the Tusken when attacking Clovis
🥳💥🥰 Padme Amidala is my favorite Star Wars character ❤️🤗
Great videos. Your voice tone is nice to hear. I'll be looking forward to the videos on other important characters like Anakin and Obi Wan. Keep it up
This was so beautiful and it brought a tear to my eye. From a young age I never resonating with a character like I did/do with Padme amidala

My mum was a twin with a twin brother. I always considered her as Princess leia 🥰
