    Aww, that was great. This summer we identified the surrounding ones mentioned; Cassopiea, Pegasus, and then Andromeda galaxy (Yeah!! - with just the spotting scope!), so next time, it's off to Triangulum. Thanks, Tony!!

      Thanks for the suggestion. I find viewer suggestions are really popular and I agreed heartily with this one. Look for more on this galaxy in the future.

      Very cool. You must feel just like i do about how there is too little discussion on Triangulum. Everyone has heard of Andromeda but few people even know of Triangulum. Ive been very interested in it lately. Again thanks and keep up the great work!

    Thanks Tony!!!
    I find the Triangulum Galaxy fascinating yet under reported on.
    More observations should be done on our 3rd largest galaxy in our local group.
    We know more about the Large Magellanic Cloud than the Triangulum.
    Keep looking up Tony.
    Love you vids.

    It never ceases to amaze and humble. Of all the matter in the universe, an absurd pittance of it came to make us a human being that can witness that the universe exists. We are winners, one and all, of the universe life lottery. Dig it.

    Tony would it not be easier to start the orientation at Cassiopeia (as you used it to find Pegasus) and just come down from her at an angle to Triangulum?

    found M33 by "accident" photographing "Andromeda area" with 28mm lens. The little tiny dot was there right below star Mirach which is about half away between those two galaxies! i got new try with 200mm lens soon😳😗 ...

    Just a simple pair of binoculars helps alot! You don't need a telescope or learn to use on, I have seen Andromeda and m33 with my binoculars!

    if it is winter time... (which it is) you should always start with Orion and work your way back.... its damn near the only thing people will see, especially in the city or the burbs.

    • @deepastronomy
      @deepastronomy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, it isn't. It's still Fall in the northern hemisphere and will be until Dec 21. Then Winter starts (again, in the northern hemisphere). Orion is coming (like winter). I also don't know what you mean by 'work your way back'. Everything is worth a look up there :-)

    Very difficult naked eye object....the Uranus of galaxies although a lot bigger! I've seen it I think naked eye when I've been in dark areas but m31, the LMG and SMG are easy.curiously one person claims to have seen m81 naked eye I think that he was on top of a mountain but even if it was brighter m81 covers a much smaller area than m31 or m33.

    Anyone living in the higher elevations of Arizona could easily see Andromeda & Triangulum on most nights. A tiny segment of vastness in eternity.

    I'll definitely have to get out the binoculars and see if I can spot that one. Should be easy to find in relation to Andromeda.
    In response to those who complain about how softly you talk in these videos, just for shits you should make a version where you sound like the announcer in a commercial for the monster truck rally coming this Sunday Sunday Sunday!

    M33 is a challenge and you need very dark skies but I've just done it naked eye but m31 and the 2 Magellan clouds (I spent 9 years in South Africa as a child)are easy.I've read claims that m81 has been seen naked eye but I think that it might be a case of filling the gap if you know what's in the gap?

    Hi, I was just wondering if you could explain a little more how those heavy elements like gold and platinum were made in the kilonova. Where did the electrons and protons come from? the two neutron stars?

    I don't like eliptical galaxies. They have barely if any starbreeding and are kind of a house for old people, wich turns slowly into a galactic graveyard. Kinda depressive.

    • @wolvenar
      @wolvenar 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      boreas real But remember, they are the only type of galaxy we *definitively* know has life as we know it. So, they can't be all bad right?

    • @boreasreal5911
      @boreasreal5911 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are referring to the Milkyway, then no. I was talking about eliptical galaxies. The Milkyway is a spiral galaxy, the kind with a bar shaped bulge in the middle. And scince we are living in the Milkyway, the Milkyway is the only galaxy we know, that has life.
