- Quite interesting boss fights, espeically the last part.
And yes Dinoceros = OP
1st. part of final boss battles is 'cassiopeia the white witch'
2nd. part is 'Cassiopeia the monster of manna' which starts at 3:07

Still beat it first try. The only boss I had real trouble with was King Tom.

Now to be fair even at lvl 49 it wasn't the hardest thing in the world outside of King Tom but it took ages. The mobs in the ivory tower wrecked me though because I was running low on MP items and they consistently destroyed Esther/Swaine.

This game will always be one of my favorites. The story is just so touching and uplifting. It started out with a grief stricken boy trying to learn how to cope with the loss of his mother...and ended with a strong and inspiring boy that has finally learned how to move on with his life. I think by saving Cassiopeia it helped him deal with the fact that he couldn't save his mother.
Entered this battle at level 50 with pretty much no familiars metamorphosed. I had a bad time.

I was lvl 50 too and wiped on last boss 5% hp left. turned off console and came to youtube to see the end lol

I did this at level 47. It look me almost an hour to get to the Zodiarch. RIGHT when I was gonna kill him he used Chaos like three times in a row and killed Oliver and Marcassin. Luckily, Esther was still alive (idk how) and killed him with a normal attack.
I did this at level 84 or so
I tried at level 53. Got killed by one of the annoying chaos and have up. That's why I'm here.

@@muffinpro_6157 yeah, esther is terrible. they keep on dying whenever i have them,they dont do anything special besides tame familiars but i dont even use that feature, but gogo is absolutely great

I just finished the game after 65 hrs of playing it and the ending just destroyed me. It's a wonderful game but sad that you couldn't save the mom. I thought you could, because all clues pointed go yes, but it was not to be
Yeah, especially when it was revealed that Alicia didn't have an Other Self in Motorville, meaning Oliver's mum was the Great Sage Alicia herself. There was no one to save. Whether Drippy was just telling porkies at the beginning to get Oliver motivated to start his quest is anyone's guess.
I thought i was done with Shadar and the next thing you know I had to beat 10 more bosses.
Died once with the last one but beat it on my second try. I was level 62.
I loved this game but it felt Ike it dragged on. But it was also a pleasant surprise that not all ends well and you still had to complete more missions for the real ending
@@alexepena The game is technically meant to end after Shadar, as was the case in the DS edition. Everything afterwards was tacked on as an afterthought, and it quite clearly shows.
Great game, regardless, but the flaws are apparent.

+Mining Magic The whole game was about a little boy coping with loss, it would have been a cop-out if they brought his mom back from the dead.

One of my favourite games of all time but one problem is I don't really sympathize with the White Witch and Shadar. They saw the world as evil and flawed and based on they're experiences I can sort of understand. But when we explored the world every location was wondrous and exciting and everyone unless they were broken hearted was almost always extremely kind. So we didn't get to experience the flawed world they saw first hand the only flaws in the world were the ones they created. I still love this game and it will always be one of my all time favourite but the villains seem a little too flawed in terms of writing and I can't sympathize with them the way I should.
Like the characters say there were no wars during this age.Shadar made all wars end long before the events of this game.He needed to bring despair and destruction because that was his duty but he also helped Oliver become strong enough to defeat him.Cassiopea was a nice character but I think her story was nothing special in the end.It's a classic character who loses everything and becomes corrupted by loneliness and despair only to be saved by the main character.
The white witch’s voice actor did an amazing job
The "soul mates" were connected, saving Alicia trapped by Shadar meant saving Oliver's mom in our world as they are connected. This is the premise of his quest, however it's clear that Alicia was Oliver's mom (through breach time) and he fulfilled her wishes to save Shadar and her own native world and its citizens. Oliver saved one world and helped his friends, this is what his mom wanted even if he couldn't save her in the end, it's really beautiful :)
It was certainly the best game with the last of us in 2013. Listen to this incredible boss battle music. I like when queen cast Fallen angel. I can't wait for the sequel.

I was level 50 and I used all my items, it was literally impossible to beat the final boss. I gave up :(
It is not easy. Go there at level 59. Use tokotoko’s to grind. And get the Magic called Astra.
I was around level 50 when I did this and did it in one go (using lots of items)

This final boss was the most intense final boss I have faced in a very long time.
I love it.
It was alot of fun especially if your under level 70
Because Alicia (Oliver's mom and sage) traveled through time to rise the pure hearted one (Oliver) when she was fighting Shadar and she sacrificed her soulmate to fight Shadar. basically she is dead.
Game was awesome, ending sucks hard, no idea what happens to everybody.

what level would you have to be to fight the very last boss. I got through the white witch easy. But the last boss is so hard!

Yeeup, no sympathy in any, if your underlevel then you need to backtrack and farm like hell. I was level 68 when I beat them and it was a demon. but i did have dinoceros and the gear monster
I think the whole game was just in olivers head, and was just his way of coping emotionally with what happened. No one could ever see the guys from the other world, or saw him use magic 🤷🏼♂️

Yeah I felt like the main game was fairly easy (just doing the available side quests gave enough levelling without needing to grind) and then all of a sudden the final boss requires you to be like 20 levels higher than any previous quests
Good game but very dissapointing ending, i expected more information about the characters and maybe some ghibli anime ending.
I was hoping Oliver would end up with Esther(not Myrtle). lol
Anyway, I beat the game with my characters and familiars in their 70's(No point in leveling Marcassin since I was OP lol).
He need to face the reality and became stronger in the end.
That chaos is a right pain in the arse on lower levels. The damage it does seems to be fairly inconsistent too which can be annoying.

Now I understand why people hate spoilers. Lost the will to continue after I found out they's gonna kill his mom character after reading the comments. Nice gameplay, sweet graphics, awesome story!too awesome I don't think I can continue to witness ending for myself. Sigh..
Thanks for this video. I used to play this on PS4 back when I lived with my parents. This game still has a special place in my heart, the story, the music, everything made it seem so magical and beautiful. Unfortunately at the time, I was underleveled when I tried to take on this boss and could never get passed her. I eventually moved out and never played it again so it was great to finally get a chance to see the ending. Beautiful.

SOOO TRUE, this battle was fucking insanely intense... in my opinion.
What was so shitty about it? It was not great but I found it ok. The Final Boss was fantastic in my opinion.
Edit Ok cassopia at the end was very ... I dont find the right word(english is not my first language) but I can understand way people would dislike her. Also the white witch turned not out to be what I wanted her to be but I still find the ending not shitty.
well, this is JRPG. if you're expecting more"western" ending, i think you play the wrong game.
My problem with the game was that it carried on after the Shadar battle/ending. This entire Cassiopeia part felt tacked on and rushed, when instead it should have been fleshed out and used for an entire sequel. The cutscene post-Shader is utterly magical and deserved to close the game out. Nevertheless the Cassiopeia battles are immense.
Well, I think he don't forgot her mom, he just grow up and understood he has to go on.
If your struggling i got some tips:
Try to conserve as many items as you can before the final form. This will help alot.
Heal others and yourself when there health is below 75%.
Ignore the other little monsters in final form as they keep reviving after you killed one.
Pay attention to the text box when the boss is gonna do a special move/attack. Some doesnt require defend.
The music for this fight is amazing

Personally I just see the part after shadar as like a continuation rather than it being the ending. Like a chance to clear other stuff up.

Level 56 can't manage to beat the Zodiarch (took me arround 20 minutes just to get to fight them).
Main reason is Marcassin and Esther seem to ignore my all defense command and get hit by chaos full
force all the time. Also one time all of my characters except for one were down and Cassiopeia failed to
use her resurrection spell like 5 times in a row.
It revealed in the battle against Shadar that Olliber's mother was the Great Sage. She never been seald, and was dead from the first hour of the game

It happened to me in freedom wars in ps vita.
It have a 3 consecutive boss battle and the third one was too hard thanks to the a.i.
I loved this game but towards the end the bosses just became absurd. Multiple forms. AOE attacks that hit all three characters for 200-300 damage and even at level 70 or so like I was swain and Esther were almost 1 shot by this. I prefer mechanically difficult bosses other than SPAMMY HURTY AOE ATTACKY
I have to agree. These last bosses became the essiest in the game for ke because i was reduced to just spamming the same attacks over and over again, while using the occasional healing item and never playing as anyome but Oliver

Okay, so obviously Oliver was raised by a single mother. She was a sorceress from another world, and she came alone. They never explain about his father. But does anyone think it's weird that a 13 year old boy is left to fend for himself after his mother passes away?
I think that would kind of ruin the story and feel the game is trying to great by having the character move on after what happened and ending up being a bitter sweet ending. I think it should be more like final fantasy in a different universe.

I defeated it around the same level, it's more to do with familiars (ie: one that can take a lot of hit damage without losing a lot of health). Also getting the bonus from the quest shop (the final one that gives Oliver 100 hp and 100 mp) should help. I didn't even have to use magic or items that much, just heal a lot and it should be easy enough.

I beat this at level 90...i almost did it at level 61 but died three times so i grinded using toko's and went up to 90 even tho i couldve stopped at 65-70 just so i could kick its ass!! Lol
It's ashes of resurrection and nix but those spells aren't actual spells you can use, only filler to complete the spells section of the wizard's companion. You can tell if you can't use them if the picture depicting the wand motion is a little darkened than the others.
Don't use any special attacks, just use the normal attack of a familar who can take a lot of hit damage. Healing shouldn't be a problem if you avoid doing special attacks (which are expensive mp-wise). The white witch also heals back your support characters if they faint/die so that's less items to use and mp to use. Also make sure to press traingle, when the chance appears, the white witch spell she casts does a good amount of damage too. Just be agile, use Oliver he's fast so can avoid attacks

I breezed through it,, by using astra spell, & catastroceros bowlder & earsplitter attacks & provisions to refill magic, & switching to umberwood for defense when she is charging up attack, just defeated her for the first time today.
That whole plot point is explained in Shadar's fight.
I was also at level 70+ beating these 3 bosses. Doesn't break a sweat at these level
I beat both bosses at lvl 57 :O
its got better mechanics than other games that made it out of alpha, take my word for that
