Essential Natural Law: What is Natural Law?

  • Natural Law is a philosophical and scholarly tradition that traces its roots back thousands of years. At its core, natural law posits that all humans possess reason, and as such, all people, whatever their ethnicity, culture, or religion, have the ability to know the difference between good and evil, right and wrong. But people must also be free to choose to do good instead of evil, and so natural law scholars over the centuries have influenced the creation of the institutions of modern western democracies that we enjoy today, including individual rights, justice, private property, rule of law, constitutionalism, and limited government. Few ideas have been as influential in the development of moral, political, legal, and economic thought in the broad Western tradition as the idea of natural law. It is interesting to note the philosophical shift in both the US and Canada to define law and ethics as government-defined rather than things set forth by natural law.

Government a legal fiction that dosent exist in reality but only on paper .
To contract with you they use your legal fiction, the all caps name.
Natural law is the law of our Creator.
Acts and statutes make money for the parasites.

That’s a great point! I think for the US, it’s due in large part to this idea and use of the 1st Amendment being a catch all (loophole) for things not explicitly written into law. So people don’t have to feel a way about using racist language if it’s protected speech. In their minds they can still be “Christian”, with high morals. Many more examples, but that’s one of the easiest to point to bc of how often it gets used.

“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment and the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

I love the Golden Rule but in my personal experience this way of behaving can fail to give you proper understanding in certain situations and may cause unintentional damage to personal relationships. Basically, the problem I ran into was a result of the fact that I don't care if people make fun of me or insult me. I'm very confident and I like to poke fun at myself and my friends. The problem is some people are very sensitive and self conscious so if I treat people with these characters the same as I treat myself, they may get offended or angry at me. So I've modified the golden rule to accommodate my persona. What this means is: I treat people as *they* want to be treated. This lifestyle has served me well.

It's more about what a "reasonable person" would do. You can think of a jury as representing that. Proving you act as a reasonable person would, then it is the other person's problem if they are upset by it.

From what I've heard, natural law is about generating the reality you want, whether it's moral or not

You're free to do what you want that providing you don't impinge on the freedoms of others to do what they want.

treating others as one would want for themselves. is a wide array, because the majority of people dont even treat themselves good, so how would we expect them to treat others in a good way rather how they like to be treated.

@NowAndrew ha yeah pretty much. it's about as succinct as it can be explained to most. the built-in paradigms of our 'reality' are too incapacitating.. i wonder why there is such a narrow capacity of comprehension of this realm and its universality. perhaps it's more efficient not to disable the inter-generational perception management of most of mankind's awareness to certain information - classified or otherwise. topics that are deemed 'sensitive'...? sensitive to the vibratory response there'd be if the trust and the genuine facts hidden by an inverted energy, engulfing and captivated in a sea of misinformation via centralisation..
it is fact that we are a part of nature and are multi-dimensional beings who've been disabled by an invisible force as it were - felt not seen, like a swear word in the mind. now, the opposite is normified and aren't encouraged to be within nature as much as we are encouraged to stay indoors, disconnect and consume positive ions in a plethora of assaults on our life force. but... why so sinister? it's the same energetic compounding operating within like a virus of our crystal brain. It's mirroring our genuine nature and inverting it for means of obfuscating anything that would open up and expand our beings global collective consciousness and in acknowledgement collapse the ancient trust of secrets.

Admittedly, I have not watched The Grammy's in many years. But I had given up Legacy TV years ago. If I had it, I would have watched it.
It is true that we are witnessing a de-synchronization of faith in the Seven Virtues around the world. This was typically recognized as Universal Natural Law, which seemed to be the precipice of human morality up until the 1960's. Then some really messed up philosophies started to take over, typically 'drug induced realities', acting as if they could just make shit up and treat it as if it was on the same level of Universal Natural Law.
This peaceful exchange of respect between Miley and Mariah was cordial and serene. I suspect we are going to see a Great Awakening soon. At least that is my prayers for humanity. Mary, Mother of God, pray for our hearts to be warmed of God's Graces of the Holy Spirit, ❤
Tesla once said, "If your hate could be turned into electricity, it would light up the whole world." Replace hatred with chastity, temperance, charity, diligence, patience, kindness, and humility and light up the world for our Lord. This is what authentic free energy is all about.

Private property? One particular cultural orientation pushing it does not make it generalized through time and space.

I wish that all humans had reason and free will. I would argue that most people are irrational pawns who do and think what they are told. 12 years of indoctrination have crippled their free will much like breaking a horse.

secular versus God; ALL Western Civilizations hang on the basis of Old Testament foundations clearly given in Genesis, Deuteronomy, Exodus, Psalms and Proverbs, among others. USA law is directly linked to the above and English Common Law, Roman, Greek and Jewish fundamental concepts of life, Patriarchy, Nuclear family, to right to own and use property and the right to freely exchange time for money (the basis of all contract law).

@@someonenotnoone similar to the AMERICAN politicians bought and paid for by corporate and foreign interests; might wanna update your view of what is going on... Considering that 400,000 WHITE MEN died to free the slaves in the American Civil War you definitely need to alter your view of the American Experience. ONLY DEMOCRATS advanced slavery in the USA #truth #history ONLY REPUBLICANS voted to free the slaves in the South, which was advanced only by the CHRISTIAN religion of the North.
