not accepting the aether portal as a valid solution was just... painfull
So sad :(
Accepting reinforced deepslate but not glowstone is lame. Either keep it official or go full fanmade stuff
@@toastr1255In defense of the reinforced deepslate, that structure, in the files, is labeled as a portal.
I love how the entire internet was somehow gaslit into thinking the Aether was vanilla. Like, should the Spectre dimension also be vanilla?
@@RoundusMongus It is not. A small piece in a similar shape is called "small portal", but the reinforced deepslate is just part of the "center". Plus, I think that small piece was removed
Hey thanks for playing my map! I've been a big fan for the past 10+ years now. Sorry for any bs moments (I didn't want to accept lightblock cuz I didn't want anyone cheesing it. I shoulda said I wasn't gonna count it).
I haven't finished that section yet but it should be OK if it's survival obtainable light level block
Nvm
Hey I played the map today and I found a few issues, can I contact you somehow to let you know what?
Oh you are here, good I just wanted to "cuss you out for unintuitive answer" on the golem shulker (warden) question, the most obvious thing that connects the iron golems and shulkers is that they are both in the code, classified as golems, so I was sure that the answer was snow golem
@@jjl2178 That's interesting, I didn't know that. Though apparently according to the wiki that was changed at some point. I meant for the answers to refer to 1.20, so technically its not correct.
it would have been absolutely hilarious if the map makers made the first question INFESTED stone instead of normal stone. I can just imagine the bewildered look jordan would make lmao
i was expecting it so much.
I assumed the three blocks were Stone, Infested Stone, and Double Stone Slabs, and the correct answer would be Stone Stairs.
32:18 “Golems don’t drop anything used in a storage recipe”
Me: …hoppers?
iron bars... buckets... shears... cauldrons... minecarts... ARMOR...
@@skillagerthevillagermain You evidently missed the word "storage" in that quote
@@samlewis6487 that I did! Buckets... Cauldrons... Minecart with chest/hopper...
@skillagerthevillagermain Technically minecarts with hoppers don't have an internal storage! It's weird because normal hoppers do, but all the "minecarts with" are weird
Blast furnace is technically a form of storage
The absolute comedy of trying to find out what connects rabbit’s foot, bottle o’ enchanting, and dragon’s breath, and having Karson open the creative menu and type ‘
28:16 death.fell.accident.water moment (water is not mentioned in any other death message)
I thought it was just blocks that had a unique death message:
Fell off a ladder
Crushed by falling anvil
Pricked to death
Magma Block: Stepped into the danger zone / Found out the floor was lava
Was about to say that magma block has a death message and yet wasn’t connected
@@crusatyr1452 but it didn't count the magma block. It was specifically saying things mentioned by name in a death message, the one jardon got it right with was scaffolding
@@toastr1255 I didn't make it clear: I was talking about the hunch that I had before he put scaffolding down.
@@crusatyr1452 ah, okay
that random guy "well, 5 years ago you said this"
imagine calling tip11000 a "random guy"
@@databitmc no idea who that is, I only occasionally watch minecraft content
@@satibel that would make you the random person
Mojang: We removed fireflies because they can poison frogs IRL
Also Mojang: Yes, you can farm cats and dogs for XP
One of those is a natural mob interaction.
The other is animal abuse and something the devs never intended for players to do.
Those are two *_vastly_* different things.
@@ventusargentum9957 nah its expected, doesnt take away the fact that fireflies didnt need to be a mob at all
@@ventusargentum9957 Except it's not a natural interaction, most frogs evolved to not eat fireflies. If they wanted to mimic real frogs, just program them to not eat the fireflies. Someone literally wrote an essay on it.
Also the game normally *punishes* you for animal abuse, like cookies killing parrots, or mobs fighting back if hit, not *reward* you with XP. It's probably an oversight from reused code, but that doesn't mean it should exist.
@@ventusargentum9957 Mojang has been removing item drops from new mobs because they don't want you killing them, yet they also allow for xp drops. The consistency is questionable still.
you know, its funny they do this when, in another twist of fate
pufferfish also auto attack and poison frogs BY DEFAULT
so what was the real holdup huh
Bro 41:08 is hilarious. Tip calling Jardementia out for forgetting the rabbit skin cracked me up haha.
The light block not working is because all of the different light-blocks are just NBT+ data.
You can right-click on a light-block to raise its light level by one repeatedly up to 15, then it rolls over to 0.
The map was detecting a light-block being placed repeatedly, not the NBT+ data of the block being placed.
iirc light block uses blockstates not nbt :/
The creator commented and said "I didn't want to accept lightblock cuz I didn't want anyone cheesing it. I shoulda said I wasn't gonna count it"
@@wntivthe tooltip says its the item lightblock with one nbt tag when you hover over it
@@Valentine570 and that one NBT tag is the tag that tells it what blockstate it should be when it gets placed down - because any blocks with blockstates can have their blockstate set throught the nbt "Blockstate" tag. iirc.
"Is this the recipe book" was a "Oh, you 3D printed the save-icon" moment from Jordan 😂
@8:27 Classic gag. I’ve always loved the spot the difference maps so this is a really cool twist on it. I like that it lets you wax poetic a little with the sequencing while still staying within logical boundaries.
18:48 Thats incorrect, there is the Killer Bunny variant, while yes you could say its a Bunny, the Killer Bunny has its own additional code that makes it act differently and is technically unused in the survival gamemode.
It's the same entity, it just has a tag.
@@Ganpan14O So, its not accessible in survival its a command only summon, much like the Illusioner, Zombie Horse, and Giant.
And its not like Jeb_, Grumm, Dinnerbone or Johnny, Toast, its not a name tag NBT change.
The Killer Rabbit has its own separate AI it just happens to be a variant. All Rabbits are Passive, the Killer Rabbit is Hostile.
It's even labeled in the Wiki as Unused alongside Giants, Illusioner and Zombie Horse.
@@somebodykares1yes but if you include unobtainable NBT pretty much any mob would work with the right NBT. The map only goes off the mob/item/block ids, as if it didn't it would open up a can of worms. I get where you're coming from but I understand the map maker's reasoning.
@@Ganpan14O I don't know any other mobs that have "unobtainable NBT tags" Besides the Killer Rabbit, for all other NBT tags are obtainable, you could argue tameable Ocelot but that was before Ocelots and Cats got separated into their own separate mobs, I guess also could argue the Horse combinations but every horse combination is possible in survival given time.
Pretty much every mob that exists is either spawnable or triggered via name tag in Survival.
Only none Survival Spawning mobs are Illusioner, Giant, Zombie Horse and Killer Rabbit.
Only NBT based tags for Mobs that I know are "Jeb_" (Sheep) "Grumm" "Dinnerbone" (All Mobs) "Johnny" (Vindicator) "Toast" (Rabbit) and thats about all on nametag NBTs.
Plus again on the OFFICIAL Mojang Wiki the Killer Rabbit is labeled as an Unused Mob, thats why its a command only mob. The Zombie Horse is a bit of an outlier for it has a Spawn Egg, the Illusioner, Giant and Killer Rabbit don't have dedicated spawn eggs, Can't argue the Rabbit Egg for the Killer Rabbit is not spawnable from the Rabbit Egg.
In fact the data thing affects him in the video in the light level room
50:10 idk why but the way your expression changed so swiftly just sent me lol. Went through a wave of several emotions in a few seconds haha
That absolutely killed me. The way he forcefully hits a single key, and exactly 4 items pop up, 3 of them being the ones already down.
Sparkles your wrong you can find a cave spider spawner on the surface in a Masa Biome since abandon mineshafts can spawn on the surface
Exactly, I was screaming mesa biome at the screen xD
13:40 It's creative mode, you can do a lot of things. Like breaking the glass, placing obsidian instead and then putting the end crystal down (if the game is real picky you can break the obi and replace the lime glass). You also could have placed the tnt cart by placing any block, a rail on top, and then the cart and break the rail then the whatever block. Or build a track that rolls the cart onto the blank pedestal.
This format is hilarious. There will be times where I guess the commonality almost instantly (and before Jardon), such as the Sheep and the Vindicator, but I cannot for the life of me figure out the third/fourth example. (The rabbit named Toast was completely new to me, and I've played Minecraft for a long long time.) And then the reverse will happen, where once I know what they have in common the third or fourth (and often only other) instance will come to my mind immediately, as with the last one. 😂
For the "knockback" hint one, I was thinking Mobs that are spawned by other mobs. Iron Golem are summoned by villagers, shulkers spawn when hit by shulkers, zombies spawn more zombies when they take damage
ohhh clever! I guess any mob that breeds would fit, but there's arguments for other mobs like slimes and magma cubes. Endermen can accidentally create golems, the bedrock Wither spawns wither skeletons, the Evoker spawns Vexes, Silverfish cause more silverfish to spawn out of blocks... A lot of possibilities! A cool category
54:54 very fair. Frostburn's biggest things are basically all things that were improved in later updates.
Husks and Strays led to Drowneds and Bogged, Bone Blocks and fossils, plus nether wart blocks ig, leads to big improvements to the nether.
Magma blocks for both the nether and oceans.
Didn't realise structure voids, though xD
Though there is one thing that Frostburn itself improved: while Structure Blocks were accessible through the setblock command since 1.9, they didn't have any player-side functionality until 1.10 gave them a UI.
As a dev, I think creating an update that allows for improvements in the future is totally valid. If anything, I'd take it as a compliment if my code allowed for cooler thing in the future.
10:41 Wait....was captain sparkles who encouraged people to vote for phantom?
Is this your child hood "hero" 😢
This might sound weird but I actually like phantoms being a thing in Minecraft
@@FoxSlymeme too if they did it better
He didn't _encourage_ people to, he just voted for the phantom. That mob vote was a minecon thing before they went online, so he didn't make a video telling people to vote for it or anything.
@@toastr1255 on top of that, a lot of youtubers were in favor of the Phantom because Mojang didn't do a great job of explaining it or how it would work mechanically. To a lot of people it seemed like it was going to be a cool overworld flying hostile mob (which the game hadn't seen yet) that would spawn one or two of them, and they'd be like mini bosses that would just appear and that was it. But then they just became annoying pests that spawn way too quickly and in clusters to just reign down on you.
@@FoxSlyme Same. So many mobs are too easy to avoid. I like the panic scramble when a phantom appears.
The fact that my first instinct for the light one (small amethyst bud) was actually correct is incredible
Ohhh now this is an interesting twist...
22:30 Turtles transform into bowls :(
46:50 is also jungle temple loot
Bowls aren't mobs though
@@FoxSlyme I don’t think it said transform into mobs, just that they transform? But idk
@@rrroooooooooo59 I mean... if you kill the mob with lightning, it obviously drops its loot? If a skeleton kills a creeper, it doesn't _transform_ into a music disc, it _drops_ a music disc. If a lightning kills a turtle, it doesn't _transform_ into a bowl, it _drops_ a bowl. Dropping special loot doesn't mean _transforming._
@@FoxSlyme I can agree with that, though I guess it would ultimately be up to the creators interpretation
@@FoxSlyme It just said transform, didn't say into another mob. Turtle should count with how it's phrased. And it does actually _transform_ into the bowl, as it doesn't drop its usual drops when dying to lightning.
22:11
the way i was so confident in "they all were originally pigs"
because villagers were originally pigmen (and everyone knows about the creeper)
cave spiders spawn in surface mines in mesa. ive seen them passive b4. but ya prob would have thought same with status effects
I looked up what was added in 1.10 when someone in chat said nether wart block was added in 1.10 and almost died when it said red nether bricks and structure void 😭
how you supposed to get that??!!
The Light Level thing makes sense.
If you were allowed to use Light Level blocks, then you could've just cycled through every one until you get the right light level.
Sure, mapmaker could have put a disclaimer of "Light Level blocks don't work here" on that one, but then you would have known that the defining feature was Light Level and it would have basically been a free hint.
39:00 The reason that dripstone block or pointed dripstone didn't count for the solution for the biomes question is because it wasn't just the "dripstone" part, whereas the other 3 were "sunflower", "bamboo", and "ice" which are all contained in a biome name. A little hard to explain but basically there is extra words for the dripstone things that aren't in the biome name
Mushroom Stem was accepted, despite Stem not being a part of the biome name.
@@franzsno7019 I didn't notice that. Maybe the creator did overlook it
39:42 i think they meant surface biome
1:01:00 the tallest part of the block (i.e. that you can stand on, if it has collision). Chests and soul sand are 7/8 meters tall. I didn't actually know that cacti weren't a full block tall.
For the mob vote one, the panda also should count.
1:25 should've made it infested stone and told you to middle click
1:09:10 best quote ever
24:03 i instantly thought "appears near structures" because bats literally have helped me find dungeons, mineshafts, strongholds and ores lol
18:41 I think the killer bunny could also belong to this group
20:09 Love the little roleplay
48:06 That's the first time I've noticed that Jordan is transparent through the bottle
50:00 Wow. That is such a weird thing to ask...I'm impressed he thought of it
17:11 bedrock is obtainable, it's just really difficult to get.
(Members on the sci craft server obtained it with redstone trickery)
obtainable without exploits is the clear implication, since afaik you can get ANY item/block with that exploit
@@ProbablyEzra ig, but it's still possible
27:34
You are placing the same block, it's just a different state. Infested blocks are a completely different block.
Cave Spiders can spawn non-angy. Rarely you can get a spawner exposed to daylight in Mesa biomes thanks to high up mineshafts :-)
39:07 'Dripstone Block' should be wrong, as the whole name of the block isn't in the biome name, only part of it is. It's not an oversight, just very specifically worded.
Beyond stone, that should apply to every other example the map gives. There is no biome with "Mushroom stem" or "Birch log."
Snow block too
I hadn’t actually read through that list, you’re right. Dripstone block should be wrong, but so should most of those
okay
but neither is "Mushroom Stem"
Then why did it count mushroom stem? It should have to just be mushroom if that's the rule. The map creator probably just forgot.
8:44 well I was a child Jordan ofcourse I was baited, I was pissed too
Got the Seeker Peeker Gamer Jardoon with the Bread of Smash and the Selecting the Food Items and the Bigger Times of the Counting the Absurd Stuff indeed
10:20 I hate phantoms as much as anyone else but I still think the other options were *worse*
18:50 Killer rabbit!
23:53 I feel like the solution to this one should be obvious. I have no clue what it is except that I’ll be kicking myself when it’s revealed
28:28 Fist instaminable (29:48: Infested is *not* instant. Maybe they are with even a wooden pick? But with the fist they are not)
36:21 Name tag easter egg
8:13 You can't pass through an end-gateway that hasn't been given a destination (on java, I think bedrock requires some default value)
Can't place End Gateways with commands on Bedrock.
"how could i have placed this or that" YOU CAN USE COMMAND!!
havent seen the answer yet but im guessing nether hog for the mobs that give you lift one
"Phantom (this is your fault)" as a Hovering Inferno voter, I feel falsely assaulted XD
thought the one with iron golem and shulker was golems, as shulkers are technically considered golems ingame
54:15 I knew they were all 1.10 from the start but I didn’t know any blocks added in the update
I was today years old when I learned cave spiders are neutral mobs.
Earliest I've been in a lonnnng time. So excited!
37:43 Not a Mojang employee, but xyZen's girlfriend's rabbit that went missing :(
that moment you know something captain didn't
Idk if anyone else has said this, but for the "blocks that appear in death messages" one, Magma should have worked. It doesn't appear by name, but it still has a unique death message (stepped into the danger zone, discovered the floor is lava, etc.)
Making it specifically blocks that appear BY NAME in a death message is far too much for what it is.
golems actually do drop a storage block recipe item, which is iron to make hoppers
55:20 wait that’s actually a neat idea. Another nerd layer for us with f3 things.
epic gamer moment
I liked the infested blocks. On the first glance it looks like stone variants, but that would be too easy. Infested blocks was kinda obvious then.
SANDman, Human TORCH.
screaming at my screen at the 1.10 blocks one, i had it right from the start😭
I would have thought that the warped nether block is part of the 1.10 one because of the mushroom trees lol, but then I remembered there was a different update for that
18:48
The Killer Bunny: am I a joke to you?
I guess it _technically_ isn't its own mob, just a variant of an existing mob
10:12 the sniffer sound looks like it's coming from jardon lol
18:49
THE KILLER BUNNY! I'm mad at the map maker for not knowing it and I'm mad at Sparklez for not thinking of it
the killer bunny is spawned with an NBT tag, not a name
13:48 forgets he can use commands
Never gets old
watching him guess bread after guessing baked potato was painful. they're the exact same in both hunger and saturation
Magma cube appears in d3ath messages
I was one of the kids who used glowstone and a water bucket only to be met with disappointment all those years ago...
Actually got the last one practically instantly but may be because the wall opposite me has my iron man and Spiderman posters on it lol
Feel like soup should've been an answer for the last one.
39:41 the biome is called drip stone caves. There are only dripstone block and pointed dripstone so no exact matches😊
That's like saying that "Snow" and "Stone" don't count because there are only "Snowy" and "Stony" biomes.
Also, it is absolutely called "Dripstone Caves", with no extra space in the word.
Love the aether reference I miss that mod
problem is that it is harder to stop the Ai of a big spider with a one block space & keep them on the one block
I feel crazy that captainsparklez doesn’t know about the rabbit name because I definitely learned that from a captainsparklez video
43:00 I honestly thought porkchops gave less saturation than steak. Huh.
Also, trivia time, for some reason the saturation number given to food in the code is _not_ the actual saturation value, it's a multiplier of the hunger value used to calculate saturation. That's why they can have such an exact amount for that answer. Still, that's pretty out-there for a question.
The outrage abt the light level 🥲
magma block should have been accepted for the death message one since there are actual death messages related to it
Map creator, a couple ideas. Make it so you have to guess every applicable block and have a hint system that gives you a few letters sacrificing points
9:49 speaking of which is that server up of dropping it into lava still up as haven't gotten the chance to get on?
Overall, captainsparklez gained an extra 13 incorrects due to map errors. Brining his final score to 38, 28, 5
How would you describe 2016? 20:32
hold up this map looks awesome i gotta play it before watching the video now
cactus is a meter tall, wth?
16:36 Death Grips reference!?!?!?
Was bro about to cry at 27:00
57:04 wait....if u just press hint button and that Map imagine it said ''below"
basalt doesn't generate naturally in the overworld tho
Wouldn't panda be a mob vote mob?
Since Asia was the only ones with the vote?
Also, wouldn't Mamga Blocks count as a death message with llamas spitting you onto them.
You can "discover the floor is lava" or "walk into a danger zone" but the word "magma" doesn't appear there, unlike "fell of some ladders", "squashed by a falling anvil" or "pricked by cactus" which all include the block name
soup should be allowed on the last one :P
8:28 DISAPPOINTED
have u never placed an end crystal in any other use of it outside of damaging the dragon or spawning a new dragon. Like pvp or building. I know it is not often used but when did they add that to the change log? I don't think end crystals need the right block to be placed
1st he kills otters & turtles.... now he has moved onto cats & dogs... SMH my head
Updated Aether survival when? :)
i am probably missing some fan lore, but what does he mean that the phantom is his fault? solely? or just part of everyone?
He just voted for it. But it was presented differently as it was executed.
Prediction at 32:20
Mobs that can launch the player
Wrong :/
New prediction. Mobs that only spawn in generated structures. So guardians?
K I'm stumped.
Next time you'll do wandering trader??? You're PLANNING to kill another tamed dog?
I just posted my first Minecraft survival series, if you can check it out and let me know what you think I would highly appreciate it! Thanks!
is there a mod to change commands to gamemode 1 and gamemode 0?
Have you not played this before? I swear you have unless it was the EXACT same map with what doesn't belong
Oh
Are you drinking Pedialyte?
