12:23, the drum track in "Fire" is played by Cassell the Beatmaker, the session drummer at The Sanctuary studio in London back in 2011-2012. The bass guitar track is played by Charlie Fowler, Ren's friend and flatmate at the time. Ren began working on the album "Freckled Angels" at The Sanctuary studio on 28 October 2011, though several of the songs were written months if not years before then (e.g. Ren published an acoustic version of "Run Away" in August 2011, which he took down when he started recording the album, but then released it again on "Love Music" four years later). Cassell laid down the drum track for "Fire" on 22 November 2011. A couple days later, Ren wrote the lyrics to "Fire" while he was hanging out in the studio. A few months later, in April 2012, Cassell started mentoring Tommy Frampton at The Sanctuary studio. The first song he had Tommy work on was Ren's song "Bullet" (but Cassell's original work on the drum track). There's a short video of their first day together on his channel, and also on Tommy's channel. That was before Tommy joined Trick the Fox.
