Yep, I live in South Dakota and the eastern half does have a few Kwik Trips. Then all of South Dakota has Culvers and Menards make me think Wisconsin. Growing up in what will be former Middleton Wisconsin across from Lake Mendota from 2--12 in 1991 to very end of 2000 we were not too far from the headquarters of Menards. In fact, I live in Pierre (Pier) South Dakota and we have the 2nd or 3rd largest Menards in the USA and world. Now, besides some not quality items Menards has, only flaw Is hate is how big the place is inside, and they made it almost all one floor with a micro second when a slightly larger small second story like in older Menards would have been a better use of the space so the Store people do not have to get everything off the higher shelves and they kept the older features of having to drive further from the building to the big wood storage in two spots one for green wood and one for not when newer and remodeled places you can drive up right behind with some even integrated into the place.
This video has given me so much more respect for Kwik Trip. I always liked them, but now I love them. From this point forward I will be purchasing ALL of my fuel there, ALL of my energy drinks there and ALL of every other stuff that I buy at other competitors . I'm from Sheboygan, WI....home to 7 area Kwik Trips
the end of each build Mr. Zietlow and his wife would come to each opening what an inspiring man and very humble It is a first class operation all around
This truly made my day to see a real life story about real people working to bring a win, win for all. It had me crying for the America l remember. Thank you for this refreshing visual of how to do business. I wish our youth and all ages could see more of this.
I'm very proud to say that I work at the Hugo Minnesota location (store 454) and have been since May 2021. Kwik Trip is a very wonderful place to work at.
I started working with Kwik Trip as of May 2022 and i'm still with them. Im glad they understand me and my other coworkers well. I try to spred the good word for them whenever I can.
What a great documentary, thanks for doing this for those of us who love Kwik Trip but are unfamiliar with their story. By the way, my parents from Alabama absolutely love Kwik Trip. It's one of the highlights when they visit me in Wisconsin.
I buy at kwik trip dinner, lunch, and breakfast. I'm much more happier knowing they are taking care of the staff that wait on me. I simply love the store, and hope to see continued success. Go kwik trip😊
Minnesota Kwik Trip diehard fan here. Absolutely true what that girl said(around the 14:25 mark) about some people driving out of their way just to get the "Kwik Trip experience". I just did that in Iowa a few weeks ago, actually. And Kwik Trip is pretty much the ONLY place my wife and buy bread. Aside from a local farmer's market once in a while.
Just opened the one in Belgium WI. Thanks for bringing this village some value. We needed this. Now get with Craig Culver and acquire the lot to the south west.
Mr. Don is still alive and still kikicking! However: Don Zietlow's 52 years of leadership brought substantial growth to Wisconsin-based Kwik Trip. LA CROSSE, Wisc. -Kwik Trip announced its CEO and president Donald P. Zietlow is retiring, effective December 31, 2022.Nov 28, 2022
They are finally getting a KT locally in upper michigan. Missed these when I lived down in green bay. Would love to meet Don when they have the grand opening here.
I love it. I did an accidental drive off (went inside and bought food too) talked to the cashiers... yes all 3. When I went back the next week my girlfriend came back to the car with a chuckle. " you're in trouble" because they are so focused on people they knew me and my girlfriend and we just laughed about the misunderstanding
KwikTrip is a great company, period. Mr. & Mrs. Don Zeitlow treat each & every co-worker with respect & like family. You do feel like you are an owner in the company, and, even after being retired for 4 years, I still feel that way. I took pride in my job at KwikTrip, and I still take pride in KwikTrip- each & every time I stop in any KwikTrip location. Don & LaVonne Zeitlow are 2 awesome people, and I am forever grateful for the effect they have made in my life - God bless all of them.
1 thing i will like to add is the good quality of their fuel at a very competitive price, as well as being able to add air to your tires at no cost. and some stores have a recycling station wich is very environmental friendly, and i dont know anybody that dislikes kwik trip
South Dakota is one of the 5 states the stores are in now. 90% of the stores are way better than most regular stores, with a few exceptions of others that are better.
DANG STRAIGHT ! Maverik is OK-BUT-IMO-Kwik Trip beats 'em hands down. I will admit I am a bit biased-lived some 20+ years in da Badger -but Kwik Trip has come along in a most spectacular fashion. Every time I sojourn out to 'Sconsin from Idaho in the early Fall to see family a Kwik Trip stop or two or three is a prerequisite !
My wife(then fiancée) and I went to Fort Collins a few years back and that was one of the only things we were "bummed out" about. We had a great time but we were relieved when we crossed the Nebraska/Iowa border and started seeing Kwik Trip billboards again. Hopefully you guys get some out west in the near future!
I wish Kwik Trip would take over the Speedway (SuperAmerica) gas stations in the Milwaukee market. And sell Greby’s Bakery Crullers in addition to their own Glazer Doughnuts.
My son is in the Marine Corps stationed far away from the midwest, and he says that whenever he gets a little lonely for home, he wears one of his Kwik Trip T-shirts or hats and almost immediately connects with someone from home.
I'm from Wisconsin, moved to Kansas City 10 years ago. QT is a little more polished than Kwik Trip, but Kwik Trip isn't far behind and they are improving quickly. I think both have a way to go before they become a Buc-ee's though.
It was a good video, but I would like to see a video that really gets into the innovation that KT brings to the table. I remember way back when , if you wanted coffee at a gas station, you had to get there by 10 AM or get the bottom of the pot. KT changed that with their fresh coffee routine. Then there was the free ATM machines which speaks for itself. I go to the ATM and then while I am in the store I buy something else. One of the most innovative things they have done is the one line multiple check out windows. The only other place I have seen that is in banks. I could never understand why grocery stores never adopted that method. You pick the shortest line and guess what ? Someone has a problem with an item, the check out person calls someone and the short line you are standing in goes on hold. You gaze over to the other lines as you watch what you thought would be slower , but instead you see people moving through the line and you see the person who would have been you leaving the store. The rewards card is again another incentive to come to the store. Now the expansion of the pay at the pump idea may have kept some people from coming into the store, but it also attracted others who were pressed for time and just needed gas. I like the way they have expanded the basic store in the same foot print. It keeps the same customers coming in and adds as and they had more services and products. I have seen restaurants change their menu and go out of business I watched them build a Cassey's across the street from a KT with the idea that people will come to both. It works with some businesses. Auto Zone and O'reilly's seem to be both busy, but in my town that does not work with KT. I drive past Cassey's coming into town and I see one car parked there, then I drive past KT and the lot is full. What is next for KT ? How will they handle the EV revolution. I am sure they have it all figured out as EV's become mainstream . Perhaps a membership to have your car charged as you enjoy a sandwich in the mini restaurant the will have. All in all they have provided numerous reasons to come into the store and I consider it the best franchise out there
Hi I'm from Algona Iowa I understand that the truck stop here in town is trying to keep you out of town And I'd love to see a kwik star/kwik trip In our community because I hear the owner of Chrome truckstop is trying to buy up all the properties To keep you out of Algona Iowa I sure hope you will look into this and build Here thank you
I think that is a fantastic business!!! I did have a question, during the pandemic, were vaccines mandatory? (Would workers lose their job if not vaccinated?)
No, we didn't lose our jobs. But they made it very convenient to get the vaccine, providing a monetary bonus to do so, and they encouraged employees to get vaccinated for their own safety. They approached the whole thing very reasonably.
We prefer KTs when traveling as they are generally clean, inviting and have many products to choose from. And their gas prices are competitive. The older stores however can be dumps
I like kwik trip, but having worked there for years it seems like their appreciation for their coworkers isn't what it once was. The wages they offer are now barely competitive (BP has higher starting wages), they are so desperate for workers they are willing to bring on and refuse to fire some lazy and terrible workers (one store near mine has many high school workers and gets some calling in sick almost daily and had 3 in one day) (my store once had a guy who did a no call no show for three or four days but HR told our leaders they couldn't fire them without calling the person to let them know they had one last chance), yet many stores can't get enough time to schedule people to complete the many tasks we have to do and they bring in people from outside the company to fill leadership roles, when there are individuals within the company who are qualified for the position and despite the claim to want to advance people and help them grow within the company
Kwik trip is a great company until you get hurt on the job. They end up making your life hell. I got hurt on the job and they only let me work 2 days a month so I had to find a different job just so I could pay my bills. Kwik trip will make it so you have to find a different job so they have to worry about a law suite.
Kwik Trip is one of the many things I love about Wisconsin. Wherever I may roam, the hot spot, glazers and “see ya next time” will always mean home.
Yep, I live in South Dakota and the eastern half does have a few Kwik Trips. Then all of South Dakota has Culvers and Menards make me think Wisconsin. ❤😂🎉
As a recently hired Kwik Trip employee, I am proud to be part of the family. Greetings from Minnesota.
I work for Kwik Trip. An absolute wonderful company. Thank you Don for all you do🤗
If only all businesses had these philosophies!!
Why am I crying over a Kwik Trip documentary
This video has given me so much more respect for Kwik Trip. I always liked them, but now I love them. From this point forward I will be purchasing ALL of my fuel there, ALL of my energy drinks there and ALL of every other stuff that I buy at other competitors . Thanks for actually caring about your employees. Got my business for life.

Thank you, Don, for making my time living in Wisconsin a good one. Many of my meals were from Kwik Trip!
What a great documentary, thanks for doing this for those of us who love Kwik Trip but are unfamiliar with their story. By the way, my parents from Alabama absolutely love Kwik Trip. It's one of the highlights when they visit me in Wisconsin.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love the ice cream they sold
Really nice documentary, especially for those of us that aren't originally from Wisconsin and may be less familiar with the story behind the company.
I love kwik trip! I'll go out of my way to get gas there, especially if it's late at night. I always know there will be friendly people there
I buy at kwik trip dinner, lunch, and breakfast. I'm much more happier knowing they are taking care of the staff that wait on me. I simply love the store, and hope to see continued success. Go kwik trip😊

As a truck driver, Kwik Trip is my go to place when im in WI and MN. Wish ya'll would come to the east coast

I saw it on Facebook and Shared it because of That 90s Show!
I work part-time in Monroe, and I love Kwik Trip.
I am a trucker I LOVE kwik trip!
I ♥️ Kwik Trip, the people there are always so nice and the stores are always very clean. Love the fried chicken.
Been at kwik trip almost a year now great place to work. Love the people and the guests. Best job I ever had. Great benefits and so much more.

I Randall Olson from Racine WI, love Kwik Trip stores.
Yooo Randy
I wish you would expand further into Michigan the only places you have stores in Michigan is the UP
Great story!!!!!!!!!!!
Coworkers come first✅
South Dakota is one of the 5 states the stores are in now. 90% of the stores are way better than most regular stores, with a few exceptions of others that are better.
Kwik Trip chicken is fantastic.
There's still hope Idaho may get one!

Awesome 👏
I’m back in CA now and sorely miss KT. Experienced these stores while working in WI and MN.
2:40 I think there aren’t enough Kwik Trips. Some are so busy that they should build one across the street.
They do it the best in every way. Sorry others, but there is no comparison.
That 90s Show should plug Menards and Culver's in a future Season!
We love Kwik Trip! Wish they would expand to Colorado!!
Lol my son just took a job with this company yesterday and today I see this. Hopefully it is somewhat as advertised (not much really is anymore...)
wow this was very educational, thank you.
I wish Kwik Trip would take over the Speedway (SuperAmerica) gas stations in the Milwaukee market. And sell Greby’s Bakery Crullers in addition to their own Glazer Doughnuts.
Love kwik donuts
I'm going to have to try the donuts next time I'm in town.
My son is in the Marine Corps stationed far away from the midwest, and he says that whenever he gets a little lonely for home, he wears one of his Kwik Trip T-shirts or hats and almost immediately connects with someone from home.
Kwik Trip 💯

THE BEST CHOCOLATE MILK
You should really do a video on Quik Trip out of Tulsa
Never go to the kwik trip at 6 o'clock 😮
We need more in Illinois. Prefer Kwik Stores over C----'s any day
I miss the Urge mascot. I won a stuffed animal toy of the urge when I was a kid.

Hi
I'd rather have a Kwik Trip in every town versus a Dollar General.
I like kwik trip, but having worked there for years it seems like their appreciation for their coworkers isn't what it once was. Its getting pretty rough in the distribution center, many employees not so happy with the supervisors and how things are being ran. 😢
Kwik trip is a great company until you get hurt on the job. They end up making your life hell.
