Another thing you missed that was really cool about support hunters is that they automatically join you after a certain time if no one responds your SOS flare. Also you can have a mix of support hunters and actual players while on the hunt!
I think that the rose on her abdomen is actually still her own hair, when it blooms it actually doesn’t seem to be shooting anything but in actuality it her using her back legs to brush the hair off herself as a hazardous projectile. This is actually something real tarantulas do to defend themselves against potential predators which is a very cool idea to implement in this monster.
My favorite thing in the trailer that I noticed is how when Lala Barina hits the hunter with her stinger and sends the hunter back, there's a bit of camera shake and adds a sort of impact you can see and almost feel to it.
7:25 I mean, I'm pretty sure Olivia (girl with hammer) will be able to go with you on quests in general because on the wilds website it says "A hammer-wielding member of the Hunter's Guild Forbidden Lands Expedition Team. She previously took on special missions from the Guild, but has since been assigned to the Forbidden Lands. She can assist the Hunter as a Support Hunter during quests."
Also, the six beasts referenced in the logo could mean 6 apex monsters one for each area that may all be dragons and that opens up a chance for tons of biomes especially with the weather changes

You an i would get along People don't like how I can spend a day on one tyranid model Or spend a day going round the ancient forest doing ecology sketches on flaura and fauna ^this is what I will do in wilds as well
When looking at Lala Barina's hair (specifically, the little tufs on her head) I get the feeling that its inspired by the Swan Lake ballerinas, I've often see this costume where the ballerinas have this curious headress that looks like wings on the side of their heads, the hair seems to resemble that shape. And judging by the name and some of the showcased "dance moves" I think Is safe to say that this flower tarántula has a ballerina motif
Lala Barina being a sorta spider/ant makes me wonder if they might live in colonies that look like a weaver ant or polyrachis ant nest that is largely made of silk. That would make sense based on the way its area isn’t really a conventional spider web, and would connect the ant aesthetic with the spider well. Polyrachis ants also are known for their spines and Barina has some very spiky design bits
@@savexel7336oh totally I see it now! I was sorta thinking mainly that they had taken liberties with the ant face and upscaled the mandibles a lot, but I think I was trying to hard to see the ant connection and forgot about all the other hymenoptera… shows why you shouldn’t have a conclusion in mind beforehand when doing research
or similar to a wingless wasp like the female "red velvet ant" or "cow killer ant" as some call. It matches the Lala Balina almost to a T considering it's red, fluffy, has the face of an ant, and has a stinger
Barina looks like they just made a large monster version of the Puppet Spider from Rise. The fuzzy fore-limb paws, the twin tufts on the head, the hair on the abdomen sloping into that almost spade-like point. And it's lovely. The dancing movements. The fact that the "florets" are just little tangles of its hair that it kicks off - much like many real-life tarantulas do with their abdomen hairs. The fact that the flower is just it splaying all its hair out to make it bloom. The stinger being like a thorn of a rose. The fact that the stinger, lithe and dancing movements, rose theme, white fur padding, and even the shaping of the legs segments being a bit like sabers all also kind of lean into the characterization of the "romantic fencer." If the weapons are paralysis as well and the fight is good, I may just have a new favorite monster already. On a bit of a side note... This is "Lala" Barina and "Rey" Dau. There was a "Lolo" prefix monster and a "Ray" prefix monster in Frontier, and they were counterparts to each other. It almost certainly means nothing, I just find it funny, given they are the only two two-part names we have in Wilds so far and match a bit to some two-part ones from elsewhere. But, we've also had stuff like Tobi-KADACHI and Rakna-KADAKI in the series and are wholly unrelated, and Barroth and Barioth. It's funny, but I don't know why M.H. keeps doing it. Are they trying to make the names confusing for newcomers on purpose?

I was hoping that they would use a Tarantula for the basis of a new Temnoceran and I am so happy to be kind of right with my prediction. A Temnoceran that ballet dances and has a rose bloom from its thorax.. she’s perfect.
I definitely think the ant species they used to base Lala Barina off of is the velvet ant which is actually a species of wasp. They are known for the fluffy appearance and the females have a massive stinger that is painful. I love how they mix it with a tarantula/spider to make it even more unique.
i love the Lala Barina Florets being like the tarantulas Urticating hairs i hope that Lala Barina uses them to aid in sensing the hunter, like maybe detecting the hunter if they touch one with the ghillie mantle.

To be fair, Rakna Kadaki was already a far from basic spider, given it is based partly on pelican spiders (i.e. the unique long neck). That said, I am not seeing much tarantula in Lala Barina. It's body build and ways of moving are nothing like a tarantula, and tarantulas are not the only furry spiders. a bit late to the party, but something that i have noticed with the trailers and monsters SO FAR, is that the new monsters that have been revealed have had that design element of being a bit creepy/monstrous/very other-worldly feeling. Like the face og thor magala, as Josh noticed, being very monster-as-in-kinda-creepy. and Lala Barina being a spider WITH FUCKING HANDS reminds me of the abyssal copepods from mystery flesh pit national park. This makes me VERY excited, as I think it will give MH Wilds a very 'wild untamed unexplored land' feel. Like how MH world felt like we were pioneers and almost small in the new world by dropping the camera angle a little bit and slightly narrowing the FoV of the player and then giving everything in the settings much greater verticality to make us have too look up to appreciate scale of things. Some of the monsters names sound very spanish. Lala Barina sounds a lot like "La Bailarina" which means the dancer. Rey translates to king and Chatacabra of course El Chupacabras. Just thought it was interesting
Yeah to us westerners spanish roots to a monsters name are way easier to pick out. Unless the names are completely different in Japanese and i am just yappin''. I hope they take meso-american inspiration for weapons. Like that aztec sword which is a wooden paddle that has sharpened obisdian all along the edge. Such a cool thing. :O and an axolotl monster would be awesome!
As a humongous arachnophobic, I thank you oh so much for the tarantula warning. Despite that, though, I love the spider monsters in MH. STRANGE, ISN'T IT?!?
I'm honestly curious about what the environmental changes will be in the Scarlet Forest. I doubt it'll be sandstorms since it's a forest, but i could imagine heavy rainfall could lead to higher water and more aquatic monsters.
I once watched a video saying that apex’s are just a cool title for some of the stronger monsters which might’ve been the case before but now I bet they gave it a meaning that apexes can’t herd or if they can it’s just two for like a mating pair like rathalos and rathian
If you move one of the "la" from "Lala" into "barina," you get "La Balarina." Now if you add an i, it would say "La Bailarina" in spanish, which translated to English it means "The Dancer". Edit: which fits what we saw on the trailer as Lala Barina was dancing💃🏻 while attacking. Edit2: just like how Rise had a Japanese style, maybe Wilds will have a Spanish style. Chatacabra > Chupacabra, Lala Barina > La Bailarina, Ray Dau > Rey Dan. I don't know anything for Doshugama.
I would say our new bug friend is more inspired by the cow act which is not an ant but a hairy wingless wasp And it is calmly known as the velvet ant Because if you look closely at the head it's more closer to a wasp and bee's who has 5 eyes 2 big ones and 3 on the forehead
That demon flurry flashing seems to be similar to the sword and shield perfect Rush combo. It looks like they're going to knock out two birds with one stone. Adding complexity and some level of skill to weapons like dual blades while also allowing demon flurry to end early so you're not just stuck in the animation.
In the poll they did awhile back Lagiacrus was named the 3rd favourite monster by the community... so since they now know that and have Leviathans models working properly (the only reason it was absent in world was because they couldn't get the Leviathans to look quite right) I'd be very surprised if they don't bring Lagiacrus into Wilds somewhere
Idk, not letting him see the news about Mon hunt doesn’t make sense anymore, it worked when the games were already fully complete and cotton was the noob through and through, but he’s not really a noob anymore, sure compared to Josh he still is,
@@bladedicedragon That's not really the point. The point is to have someone go in completely blind and unspoiled going in, experiencing everything the game has to offer as the game shows it to him. Also I'm pretty sure it's Cotton's idea.
I now know what the logo of the game means, they say that Thor Magala is one of the Epax monsters and the logo has 4 small monsters and 2 large ones, so there are 3 other Epax monsters and 2 even larger monsters.
I don't think so the monsters in the logo are flagship monsters and they said Thor magala isn't a flagship but just a apex for the storm tide weather and each new zone has 3 seasons with there own apex that swap around also the logo monsters are more serpentine
I have no idea why reddit decided it would be a moth monster. The monhun subreddit somehow managed to collectively convince themselves it'd be a moth when it was so obviously going to be a spider. They're a strange group.
It went into the theory that the monsters in the game are based off of cryptids which a moth-man based monster would have fit into. The MH team is also very creative when it comes to the insect monsters which is true for Lala Barina being a velvet-ant/tarantula/spider hybrid rather than just a spider. A silk-moth based monster would have been cool, but I love the monster we ultimately got.
Am I the only one who noticed the resemblance between the elder in the Windsong Village and the Elder in Pokke Village? Maybe it’s a coincidence but also maybe it’ll tie in that region to Wilds. Maybe the kid was raised in Pokke and his family is originally from Windsong
Rey Dau gives me flying lightning Diablos vibes. Not sure why maybe it’s just him being so huge and the giant horns. Every single new monster is so awesome. Now we just need Goss harag to come back and make it all perfect
Rey Dao is already my ultimate favourite monster from now on. The only thing that could make it even cooler would be a silver colour scheme, but the gold fits for camouflage in the desert
Loving the new monsters, especially our new rose spider, but I'm also very interested in our new teases on weapon combos. Seems like dual blade's blade dance is getting quite the change up.
A little wild (sorry, i couldn,t resist) thought, but what if that scene at the end, where village people are gathering water indicates more then just world building, but also new iteration of defence quest type? Many MH titles has some type of defence type quest, (especialy Rise), where hunters were tasked to protect vilalge/town on special arenas against monsters. So what if now, monster "raids" could be more often occurrence, that happens outside story (more natural) and can impact hub villages itself? Taking theme of Wilds it would fit. What do You think?
The scarlet forest reminds me of the primal forest and area 3 has red water from the leaves or flowers but I think the scarlet forest is a deeper part of the primal forest where no one has explored but that’s just my theory
8:30 i think those flashing in dual blades is the hunter switching from demon mode(red flash) to archdemon mode(white flash) which makes it so that hunters can switch freely between demon mode and archdemon mode without destroying the flow of the combo
I was hoping for a true spider-like monster. Rakna-Kadaki was fantastic in its design, but this one is perfection in terror and beauty, especially when it turns into a rose.
Im guessing each region will have an apex predator, and they'll all be a flagship. So, a group of flagships like we had with the fated four except might be have connecting ecology like the fated four did and be connected by the fact that their all the apex of their respected local. Also might mean will have more than four. Might have a whole five man band of monsters. Also, bonus theory final boss will be the top apex of the whole game.
One more curiosity about Lala Barina: My wife said it's attack pose with raised claws reminder her the Brazilian wandering spiders (or banana spiders/armed spiders), a very dangerous spider specie. "If you see one with this pose, run for your life" Bonus: I don't know if this is obvious, but Lala Barina -> La Bailarina -> The Ballet Dancer?
What i noticed about the lala barina is that the nest is a fixed location? Maybe she has multiple locations she can set up a nest or is that zone always looking like that. It could be similiar to the rathian nest in the ancient forest mhw and she appears when you take the eggs. Will be very cool to see what kind of dynamics like this they will play with.
Don't know if it's been mentioned but now that they showed the people farming the rock. The big pillars look like they are metal structures set out there in the sands by the people so that the lightning strikes them and they can farm it.
The little critter crawling on the tree to the left in first few frames in the title card makes me think we're getting World/Iceborne style endemic life back 🤩
Lala barina is the best new monster capcom have created thus far in MY opinion. I haven’t even fought it yet but that woolly, crimson rose is already my favourite monster ever! So far capcom haven’t missed, every new monster revealed looks absolutely incredible…..man, the wait for wilds gonna be agonising
So, each biome will have its own flagship Apex predator and that lighting wyvern is for the desert. Scarlet Forest sounds like something you would find in a Souls game. Mantles are back and setting up a new camp seems fresh as are the Palico gear.
Imagine we get a Lagiacrus subspecies in the Scarlet Forest. It could be a Scarlet Lagiacrus who steals the stuff from the spider or something and has paralysis powers instead of lightning with a combination of his own moves and stuff like Akantor or Jurotodus to make him work in knee-deep water.
Lala barina's appearance in the trailer explains the Charge blade and armor from the showcase. I am curious on what monster the Switch Axe came from! So we will have two insect/spider monsters?!
Josh, next time you can use the frame by frame shortcuts on your keyboard to avoid pixelation when reviewing footage! Also so you can really see every sweet, sweet frame!

You can see the hunter get paralyzed when they run into one of the floret clouds!
I would say our new bug friend is more inspired by the cow act which is not an ant but a hairy wingless wasp And it is calmly known as the velvet ant Because if you look closely at the head it's more closer to a wasp and bee's who has 5 eyes 2 big ones and 3 on the forehead
The baby Seikret by the hay pile (1:22 in the trailer) I will defend him with my life. (:
absolute PEAK
That demon flurry flashing seems to be similar to the sword and shield perfect Rush combo. It looks like they're going to knock out two birds with one stone. Adding complexity and some level of skill to weapons like dual blades while also allowing demon flurry to end early so you're not just stuck in the animation.
i imagine all apex predators in each region has the ability to terraform it and changing the overall look of the area. That would be dope ngl
Seeing how the new forest biome looks like it has a lot of swamps and water makes me cross my fingers for the return of Lagiacrus
Also reason for thor being coated in gold is for electric conductivity
my question is how is cotton avoiding spoilers? even my mother did see some things about this game
Really want to know that too!!
he is locked in josh's basement lol
im kidding idk ether
Josh probably banned him from the internet
Apex*
As in top of the food chain
@@sekiro_the_one-armed_wolf yes and der are 3 more and even 2 bigger ones
Water? In Monster Hunter?? Lagiacrus confirmed
I never missed a single thing I was always paying attention to the armor sets
A little wild (sorry, i couldn,t resist) thought, but what if that scene at the end, where village people are gathering water indicates more then just world building, but also new iteration of defence quest type? Many MH titles has some type of defence type quest, (especialy Rise), where hunters were tasked to protect vilalge/town on special arenas against monsters. So what if now, monster "raids" could be more often occurrence, that happens outside story (more natural) and can impact hub villages itself? Taking theme of Wilds it would fit. What do You think?
rey dau is probably the largest flying wyvern that can actualy fly unlike akantor and ukanlos
The scarlet forest reminds me of the primal forest and area 3 has red water from the leaves or flowers but I think the scarlet forest is a deeper part of the primal forest where no one has explored but that’s just my theory
Just for the record, you can advance frame by frame on youtube videos by using the , and . keys, instead of having to keep pausing to show off moves.
11:02 is it just me or does this monster remind you of the rathalos burst species from Frontier? Something about the face seems familiar 🤔🤔🤔
8:30 i think those flashing in dual blades is the hunter switching from demon mode(red flash) to archdemon mode(white flash) which makes it so that hunters can switch freely between demon mode and archdemon mode without destroying the flow of the combo
I hit like before the video even started lol, I just knew I was going to enjoy it. Thanks legends as always!
With the red silk coiling up into the florets, I feel part of the inspiration could also be spider lily flowers and that's interesting!
Cotton being left in the dark during on this is crazy. I could never do it
I was hoping for a true spider-like monster. Rakna-Kadaki was fantastic in its design, but this one is perfection in terror and beauty, especially when it turns into a rose.
I only just noticed that none of the MH "spiders" have 8 legs.
I'm guessing some huge thunderstorm strikes are what make the vertical rock pillars you see around the desert area
Speaking of fated four, I need gammoth back
I'm loving Rey Dau! Makes me imagine a thunder oni and looks cool af!
One more curiosity about Lala Barina:
My wife said it's attack pose with raised claws reminder her the Brazilian wandering spiders (or banana spiders/armed spiders), a very dangerous spider specie. "If you see one with this pose, run for your life"
Bonus: I don't know if this is obvious, but Lala Barina -> La Bailarina -> The Ballet Dancer?
What i noticed about the lala barina is that the nest is a fixed location? Maybe she has multiple locations she can set up a nest or is that zone always looking like that. It could be similiar to the rathian nest in the ancient forest mhw and she appears when you take the eggs. Will be very cool to see what kind of dynamics like this they will play with.
Rose butt looks so cool man. The movements are so fluid and insect-like. It's perfect.
The florets cause paralysis and yeah the npc can be used as followers in quest. I saw them yesterday on rurikhans stream.
there is a mernos in the bottom left cornor of the shot where the village is shown from above
thats some wild stuff
Hey Josh idk if you say this later on in the video, but the Lala Burina’s rose is actually it’s unfolded abdomen!!
The web of the spider is frikin gorgeous, very much like some of the crazy webs orb weavers and such make
the Spider are ALWAYS my favorite monsters whenever a game bothers to add a new one. And this one is no exception.
I'm not sure if anyone else noticed, but when the palico attacks, he speaks in english voice lines. Navirou confirmed?
Don't know if it's been mentioned but now that they showed the people farming the rock. The big pillars look like they are metal structures set out there in the sands by the people so that the lightning strikes them and they can farm it.
My theory is they use the crystals as a mean to ward off lesser monsters, monsters associate the crystals with the apex so they stay away
I *REALLY* hope we can customise the appearance of the Seikret like we do the Palicos as well as Rise’s Palamutes
lala barina is a monster version of a real life rose spider-- Misumena vatia a sub species of crab spiders.
I hope your able to customize the pop-up camps.
God I can’t wait to hear “Behold, Doshaguma, Chatacabra, Balahara, Lala Barina, Rey Dau!”
Lala Barina should have the bleed effect on her florets like a real tarantulas urticating hairs.
@RageGamingVideos The duel blade moves are part of the feral demon mode switch skill from rise
The spider area looks like a souls fight even when it fights the other monster
An Apex has been confirmed, one of the scariest "looking" bug monster I've ever seen from MH. A new local confirmed as well! Gets me so excited!
The little critter crawling on the tree to the left in first few frames in the title card makes me think we're getting World/Iceborne style endemic life back 🤩
Oh we are we can even watch it through a whole life cycle
Lala barina is easily one of my favorites visually easily top 5 for me
Lala barina is the best new monster capcom have created thus far in MY opinion.
Mantles are back and setting up a new camp seems fresh as are the Palico gear.
tarantulas rub their legs on their abdoment to send hairs into the air that irritate... that fencing dancing spider is so SOOO good
Imagine we get a Lagiacrus subspecies in the Scarlet Forest.
Surprised you didn't mention in the photo of Kunafa we get another photo with the rider holding a spear
Some spider species have eyes over on the top of their forehead as well such as all subs of jumping spiders
Josh, next time you can use the frame by frame shortcuts on your keyboard to avoid pixelation when reviewing footage! Also so you can really see every sweet, sweet frame!
with how agile the monster is and the way the scales are and body, it almost seems like a long lost cousin to Serregios
It's interesting the character that spoke at the beginning of the trailer didn't get their own section on the website. I didn't realize they were different from Olivia at first which I feel silly about because it's super obvious once you know. But I'm not seeing anyone talking about them.
As a charge blade main. I will have that armour. I will have that weapon. No matter how many insects need to be crushed.
LaLa Barina is already a top 5 monster for me. Maybe even top 3. Shes so goddamn beautiful
