I love Lévy to speak on big picture. Not letting just simple moves recap take the place, but to sit back and speak up mind and make you think as well! Live long and prosper the chess world!
You are very young, I am 1% (Older fellow) I played chess, when I was 5 years old, which works out to 1963. Hans reminds me of a famous Tennis Player (US) Called John McEnroe. John backed up his "Talk." It took some time, but he did it...We will see if Hans can do the same.
Put your foot on his throat Levy, we see you getting spicy! Hans' ego is so inflated that he is begging for money and doesn't realize the biggest blunder of this tournament was not making Levy an ally.
If he, just a day prior, was treating me like absolute trash on a live broadcast and calling me a shill and all that, I'd be laughing my absolute rear end off LIVE and rubbing it in his face at every opportunity. It would sure as hell take longer than a day for me to talk about him in a remotely positive light..... You're a better man than I.
Love the pre game, love the post game. Honestly, just loving watching you do your thing levy, and you making the moves you've been making over the past couple years has been tremendously satisfying. The only way is up
100% agree chess needs personalities. I JUST started following chess a few months ago bc of the Magnus/Hans drama. Now I LOVE Levy, Monsieur Pineapple, Mango, Fabuloso, Christian, the Botez sisters... And I couldn't care less about the WCC bc I know nothing about Ding nor Gukesh. At the end of the day, connecting on a human level works. Parasocial relationships work. That's why American Idol contestants all have sob stories, or amazing come-ups. There's literally a billion talented people in the world. Why should I care about this one? It's so important to be memorable, relatable, and likeable.
If Hans wasn't so overconfidant, borderline disrespectful to his opponents, I'd be happy to see a new chess rising star but his demeanor makes it that I'm prefer watching him lose.
Levy thanks a lot about all your work, i got into chess in the last year and you are a major part of me enjoying and improving in the game. I really really like ur ufc analogies for the chess world bc it gives me really funny images of hikaru and hans in the octagon instead of playing chess
Statisticians did not "confirm he didn't cheat over the board." They did not find definitive evidence that he did. Those are dramatically different statements. Those statistical models are also very limited for the amount of information a top level chess player needs in order to win. Hans was an extremely good online chess player. He still cheated prolifically, and lied about it (as confirmed by the statisticians you worship, like Regan- see FIDE EDC report.) Hans is an extremely good OTB player. This does not prove he did not cheat intermittently OTB, particularly early on in his career, when it was much more uncertain whether he could play chess OTB professionally, and played numerous extremely suspicious games (when he was far weaker! Where are all those incredible computer like games now??)
I understand the sentiment of Hans having been young when he cheated and the argument that he should be let off the hook and just move on. I wonder if this is to the detriment of chess as a sport. In other sports categories, whenever someone is caught cheating they are usually banned. I can think of examples in baseball, cycling, track, F1, football, etc. Chess is making a choice. Questioning if that is the right choice for chess.
You do know that people aren't banned for life when they cheat in cycling, track and field, high jump, pole vault, weight lifting or ANY kind of these sports, right? Right?
I know it’s kind of rare but it happens. For example Lance Armstrong is a high profile one that comes to mind. Also it tends to happen related to drug use, cheating, betting, manipulating outcomes etc. I think that Hans has fully embarrassed himself at this point and is struggling for sponsors. So he has paid a price. Here is a list of athletes that have been banned. I’m sure it’s not comprehensive. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Sportspeople_banned_for_life
@@johnrangel4338 I'll quote you. "I understand the sentiment of Hans having been young when he cheated and the argument that he should be let off the hook and just move on. I wonder if this is to the detriment of chess as a sport." So this is about "not letting him off the hook no matter how many years have been spent." Then we have: "In other sports categories, whenever someone is caught cheating they are usually banned." With the former statement, this is disingenuous.
You missed the subtlety of what I was saying. In the end I think even though he should be banned, I also don’t believe the Chess federations will ban him because he has done a lot to increase interest in chess. Everyone likes controversy and a rivalry. 90,000 people were watching the matches online live. Not bad.

He had the skill but the technique, experience and time management and scrabble of magnus and hikaru is just too much.
And of course Alirezas sheer talent
That post game interview was vicious and brutal
Hans wasn't feeling the "vibe" on this one. If you know what I mean.
😂😂lmaoo
More like " vibration 📳"
@@rupjitdebnath7939 that's the joke good job

@@rupjitdebnath7939that’s the whole point of the comment…
I love that our chess daddies Magnus and Hikaru dog walked Hans after that meltdown of an interview
Hikaru was a beast in the post game interview. You can tell he was just itching to throw shade back at Hans. And it was 100% deserved.
as a ufc fan i always appreciate the mma analogies - keep them coming!
I don’t think I would’ve watched so eagerly until the end if hans was winning. watching hikaru absolutely destroy him was soooo satisfying after that interview.
31:26 it does Levy. Please don't stop with those references
Hans couldn’t find his ass with two hands and an ass map.
Kramnik and Hans will ve having a long and quiet conversation after this

On a positive note, you were great on the live transmission Levi. And also with the interviews!
overrated.
I loved this recap.
Brilliant work Levy. Top shelf quality. Thank you, thank you.
I dont think Hikaru has had an easier day at work since he got millions in his Kick contract just for playing some chess😂 It's a shame tho because im a Hans fan and I think its a little sad how the community has treated him with zero evidence. I still hope that Hans can bounce back from this.
Well its to be expected, we are talking about one of the greatest chess players of all time, hikaru is no joke
He should focus on the chess not so much all the drama surrounding it imo
nah fam.. nieman is a freaking joke.. love from norway :)
Hans is gonna be top 5 in the world within 2 years, call me crazy but I believe it
He did actually cheat tho online, thats a proven fact. maybe not live but no one knows.
You and Danya did an amazing job commentating!
Big ups for Hans for being humble and congratulating Hikaru! Also big ups for being entertaining!!
0:01 he starts talking
Thanks, I was looking for this

You're gold on the desk! Love your analysis and commentating. You help make chess exciting.
Guys, let's appreciate Levy for actually working really hard to promote chess in this universe like this. I see many people comment disrespectful things to this man just in order to get 'A PIN OF SHAME'. Let's just stop it. You all have to understand Levy is a human, too. Levy, I'm a big fan of you and love how you make chess more entertaining as other stuff. Keep going, Levy! Also, I hope you'll accomplish your own chess targets! You can do it! 💯
@@SmKChess Completely agree… we need a Pin Of Positivity
Let’s appreciate levy for fattening his bank account & creating a massive name for himself? Look I love his videos but he dislikes his fans & sees you as a dollar sign to sell his next course too. He’s not doing this out the goodness of his heart
I want to say that I enjoy the pre game talks with you a lot. It’s really visible how much you improved and got more comfortable when commentating and interviewing. The way you handled the Niemann interview was incredible and your humor in the post and pre game talks was spot on (for example showing the “the rooook” displate poster really up close). You fill every moment that you are in with your charisma and it truly is contagious. I can’t wait for tomorrow.
Levi you showed Class my guy, You could have just laughed hysterically at Hans and his ego, yet your silence in the face of verbal derision speaks volumes, His performance against #1 closed the conversation on a high 🎵 note, now you get vicious on the board and Looking forward to when we get to say GM Levi
I cannot describe how satisfying it was to watch magnus and hikaru humble this guy
I can't believe he recorded a whole youtube video with an iron on his face! Props Levy.
I love Lévy to speak on big picture. Not letting just simple moves recap take the place, but to sit back and speak up mind and make you think as well! Live long and prosper the chess world!
im getting the vibe that hans forgot to charge the remote
As long as yours is charged
This match felt like the kid who got bullied and tried to stand up to them, but got his ass beat again twice.
I think Hans knew there were levels, but what he learned the last 2 days is that he isn't in the top level like he thought he was.
If Hikaru and Magnus got each other’s numbers, they’ve probably been laughing to each other all day
No kramnik gambit was played, I'm shocked
It's really nice listening to the more down to earth, chill cadence of these late night videos. You're a great speaker.
At 21, Hans' age, McEnroe won his second US Open in a row. Won his third at 22.
@@chrisf5828 Yes, indeed you are correct - I don't know when Hans' will peak (Age). Great to watch
"he'll have to watch me win tournament after tournament"
Yeh but you'll still be Hans, and that's just perfection.
Hikaru's pre-moves speak for themselves.
32:56 "I don't remember asking you a goddamn thing" energy 😂 Much respect to you, Gotham!

I really like the pre and post game show. Good mix of information, analysis and fun. And I really like it that you're there!
Why exactly do we need people like you?
25:40 the best part about that position is watching Hikaru as the bishop is moved, his face lights like "what are you doing?"
If Hans wasn't so overconfidant, borderline disrespectful to his opponents, I'd be happy to see a new chess rising star but his demeanor makes it that I'm prefer watching him lose.

Someone needs to do a wellness check on Hans
After watching the interview with Hans this makes me so happy
"Uploaded 30 seconds ago." Feels good to be European.
I really really like ur ufc analogies for the chess world bc it gives me really funny images of hikaru and hans in the octagon instead of playing chess
33:04 touch grass ahh statement.
I don't watch when Hans plays. I'm here to watch Hikaru.
Statisticians did not "confirm he didn't cheat over the board." They did not find definitive evidence that he did. Those are dramatically different statements. Those statistical models are also very limited for the amount of information a top level chess player needs in order to win.
Hans was an extremely good online chess player. He still cheated prolifically, and lied about it (as confirmed by the statisticians you worship, like Regan- see FIDE EDC report.)
Hans is an extremely good OTB player. This does not prove he did not cheat intermittently OTB, particularly early on in his career, when it was much more uncertain whether he could play chess OTB professionally, and played numerous extremely suspicious games (when he was far weaker! Where are all those incredible computer like games now??)
Best 3 days of chess! You are doing great Levy. Great commentator, interviewer, streamer. Killing it
I understand the sentiment of Hans having been young when he cheated and the argument that he should be let off the hook and just move on.
I wonder if this is to the detriment of chess as a sport."
So this is about "not letting him off the hook no matter how many years have been spent."
Then we have:
"In other sports categories, whenever someone is caught cheating they are usually banned."
With the former statement, this is disingenuous.
You missed the subtlety of what I was saying. In the end I think even though he should be banned, I also don’t believe the Chess federations will ban him because he has done a lot to increase interest in chess. Everyone likes controversy and a rivalry. 90,000 people were watching the matches online live. Not bad.
Love it man. The way you care about chess is amazing. 🙂
I love how levy sound❤
Goooo Hikaru! My second-favourite player after Magnus!
Hikaru's a legend! Looks like such a nice guy too - down-to-earth and with a good sense of humour!
Very happy to see that the security at the venue was tight.
Love seeing you in the pre and post game Levy, you definitely make it more enjoyable!
Did a small part of Hikaru's sub-conscience want him to lose in the semis so he could stomp Niemann in the consolation match?
I think he’s wanted to dunk on Hans for quite sometime, but I don’t think a player at this level ever thinks ‘I should lose this semi final so I can play the probable loser on the other side of the bracket.’ Just a welcome consolation
Hans humiliated, the chess spoke for itself.
Props for Levy for staying up so late to record the recap!
you did a great job Levy!
