HaKeras for Solo French Horn by Wayne I. L. Davies

’HaKeras’ is a piece for solo horn dedicated to a close friend. It combines my love of music with my interests in code-breaking. The music is essentially a ’super encryption’ of a piece of fairly well known text. There are a number of encypherments that convert the text to meaningful notes. As can be seen, some note-heads possess different symbols, which reflects one of the methods of encryption used. Apart from the complex, yet interesting premise of crypto-analysis, the score is an independent piece of musical virtuosity.[NOTE: The use of the French Horn is important to the crypto-analysis].
