  • Welcome to our Le Creuset Tea Kettle Review. The featured product today is the Le Creuset Whistling Enamel Steel Tea Kettle which comes in a variety of different colors.
It is admittedly a little bit confusing to say the least. Because the truth of the matter is, if you do a quick online search on Le Creuset Tea Kettle Reviews, you will get mixed feedback from customers. Some swear that this is the best tea kettle they ever hard, others state in no uncertain terms that these kettles are a waste of money. Now, it is true that Le Creuset products, in general, are on the more pricier side. And in my opinion there is a good reason for that. Because this is actually the second Le Creuset Whistling Tea Kettle we purchased. The first unit lasted for about two years. Now, please keep one important fact in mind: we have extremely hard/heavy water and we use our tea kettle frequently. By frequently I mean 5-10 times per day. So, you can see, we are talking about heavy use and therefore, at least in our opinion, there was no point in buying a cheapo $19.95 product that we would have to replace every couple of month.
Alright, enough beating around the bush. What are the negative features of the Le Creuset tea pot? Well, there unfortunately is one as I demonstrated in the video review. For the life of me, I cannot understand why such a high quality tea kettle comes with a handle that is not heat resistant. Now, not trying to confuse you even more, because according to the manufacture, the handle is actually supposed to be heat resistant, but that is absolutely not the case. Each time I remove our Le Creuset Tea Kettle from the stove I have to use a towel because the handle is simply too hot for me. The is really poor product design, sorry to say, Le Creuset.
But that is really the only downside of the LeCreuset tea pot. Because other than that, it does in fact a great job. I especially like the fact that it retains the heat very well. That is due to its unique steel and enamel construction. When you heat up water, it stays hot for a long time which means you don't need to re-heat -- that saves time and money.
Obviously, this particular product is a so called Le Creuset Whistling tea kettle. The whistle works well, I know that some customers stated that they have issues with that feature, however, so far I could not notice any problems with the whistle. Also, while you can remove the top to fill in water, I usually just flip the whistle to fill it up.
In sum: the Le Creuset tea kettle is a high quality product and that's why the price tag is naturally a little higher. However, if you are heating up water several time a day like we do, we strongly recommend that you get yourself a device that is made to last. And that's exactly what the Le Creuset Whistling Tea Kettle does. I personally don't mind that I have to use a towel because of the non-heat resistant handle, but I obviously that is something you need to figure out for yourself -- clearly, it is a downside of this product that needs to be mentioned.
Alright, that's it. I hope you found our video: Le Creuset Tea Kettle Review helpful. Please email or message me with any questions you may have. Thanks for watching this video. Please leave a Like and subscribe to my channel.

I have the same Kettle and have not yet encounter any issues with the handle heating up. It does get slightly warm but nothing near burn levels

I do agree that a good kettle design in the 21st century should not require a pot holder/towel to avoid burns. However, they claim that the plastic is heat resistant, not that it doesn't get hot. Heat resistant means that it will survive relatively high temperatures (without melting). Just like water resistance means that something would survive getting wet. Even so, it does still get wet, and this handle still gets hot.

This company DOES NOT stand behind their warranty, have you tested it? Mine lost it's whistle, they don't sell a replacement, and tell you its due to accidental misuse due to impact and wear & tear. Mine was clearly a manufacturing defect. They offered me another with 50% off, plus taxes !! After reading about others rust issues I checked mine & now know we have been drinking rusty water.

Hey Carol, did you ever resolve this issue with the company? New whistle?
