    I sunk my 300 KTM in 8 ft of water at a Dual Sport in Kentucky ( Renfro Valley ) one year. And I was not alone. It’s amazing how much the water current pushes a bike .

      8 feet is deeeeeep! Water is pretty powerful

      Every couple of years ,there's a great bike wash at that event. My xr400r still isn't the same.

    You can ride deeper, these Shercos are subs.. BUT you gotta run your vent hoses up into the air box. Nothing to do with design.

    Nice thing about Shercos is they have a crankcase drain bolt to drain a flooded motor!

    When you first came up from the river at 12:12 I had to cringe a little when I saw all of the cactii!
    I'm probably going to be at the doctor's this week to have hand surgery to get a number of spines taken out of my my knuckles! It's been three weeks and they ain't coming out! Was riding in Penrose Colorado on my trials and end of day heading back to truck I went to pass an ATV who was in the middle of the road. Going to his left at about 25 mph when he started drifting over so I cut harder left when I smacked a nice tall and very dry cactus. Took a few chunks of it with me the last 1/2 mile to the truck gritting my teeth. Probably 30 or more spines I was able to get out but there's still around 10 that have become unwanted squatters.
    It seems humorous when it happens to others but it's serious business and can definitely cause a bad day of riding. Reminds me of another time when this happened and I ummm, couldn't, ah, reach them. My son had the embarrassing task of removing them. "Yeah shut up, I saw your dirty backside plenty when you were a baby!!" 😂
    New subscriber and love the content, and Chuck Norris, really, what's not to like about that!!

    • @InsideEnduro
      @InsideEnduro  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, We love Chuck! Bummer about the Cacti 🌵 it can be NASTY! We seem to tangle with them fairly frequently when down in AZ. We typically pull out what we can and then wait as they fester out of the next several weeks to Months, but then seem to come out or go away 🤔 not sure where.... Let us know if you get them taken out, we just grin and bear it, but would be good to know if it’s really deep, big, bad, should a guy think about having them surgically removed. Hope you get better soon and out on your bike!🔥👊🏼

    How are the engine bearing after this? Any long term damage? Or do they survive if you fire it up directly and burn all the water?

    • @InsideEnduro
      @InsideEnduro  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We’ve seen countless bikes flooded and I don’t know of anyone who said they had a problem later. Anyone let us know if someone has? I have never personally drowned a 4stroke and know if you keep trying to start you can bend the crank and cause all sorts of damage, the 2 stroke is more fore giving. If it gets douched real bad I’ll change transmission oil ASAP and plug. Other than that they all seem to rock on 🔥✊🏼

      @theslipperface 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I flooded my WR 450 way back in the middle of no where up here in North Eastern Ontario. Riding solo. Found a slope and pushed the bike up on a 45 degree angle and waited about ten minutes for gravity to do its thing. Started after about 15 minutes. No plug removal. Didn’t have the tool to remove it anyway. It would have been a 7 km bare foot walk out. Not pleasant in motocross boots.

    I was gonna say,why are you riding against current? It is easier to not fight the water.

    • @jacko4483
      @jacko4483 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely! Although the banks of that section didn't look like they offered too many options. And look for the riffles in the water, it's less deep there. Had a similar situation a couple of years ago and we all knew we were getting wet so we shut off the bikes and helped each other bring them across no problem. Having someone upstream side of bike to block the flow helps but it's still a challenge!

    • @InsideEnduro
      @InsideEnduro  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jack o is on point. We would have preferred to go with current, but there was no access off the bank and it was super deep as well. We had crossed there before on a shallow line but it was running way faster and about 18” higher. Jet ski would have been the ticket! 🔥✊🏼
