    I think you could have made more as an auction on Ebay Sandra for your Jewelry lots. That black bird I believe is called a Pie Bird, they are put in the middle of the pie while baking to allow steam to escape.

      Ahh I thought the bird was to crimp the edges! Good to know. Agreed on the eBay thing. Oh well. Thanks Rosemary!!!

      @@TheFunkyPickleThrifter I agree with Rosemary. You deserved to get more for so many of your items. I would hope you'd get more for them if you sold them individually on ebay. People would "favorite" your store and keep checking back.

      Some lots went for less than I thought they should have... UGH. But I made about $1500 on both auctions, so it is really the bottom line I guess. Honestly, a lot of that stuff was jewelry jar junk, but the stuff that wasn't should have sold for more $$$. Auctions can be tricky as you know -- two or more people have to want something or the price just lies there... Next time I have a lot of jewelry, I'll try to reach out if I think you would be interested. THANKS!! Hugs,.

    The first lot had two leather and pearl honora necklaces that I loved. I learned something new today. I never heard the word for the Asian jewelry.

    This was interesting and fun. I have been trying to research how to sell online or in other ways, so this gave me a lot to consider. I would not be any competition to you for sure, I would like to see if I can make a little on a few items, though. I felt a little sad about the ceramic flowers that got mixed in, but I appreciate your attitude, you are able to "let it go" and not get down. Thanks for your positive outlook and for sharing your knowledge.

      Glad it was helpful. Auctions are a risk, items can be underbid. I didn't put anything in the auction that I had any large amount of money in, other than the scarab bracelets I guess. As far as letting go -- yeah! You can't win 'em all, so I just roll with it. Thanks for watching as always. Hugs.

    I am blown away by the bottom line on some of these lots. This is quite an education. Loved that huge pearl pendant piece you said went for $225. Out of my range, but I hope someone will appreciate and wear it frequently.

      I was surprised! So... some not so great prices on the jewelry, but I feel like the bottom line is always decent. You know, some sell for less than expected, and some sell for more than expected. It's all good!!! Cheers.

    Yes don’t lose money. Create your own lots on eBay and start them at the amount you willing to take the lowest amount for.

    It sounds like the auction place did not follow your instructions at all! 😞 I'm thinking you could have sold the Disney watches as a lot on ebay for a bunch more, same with your other stuff. Are those prices typical? Just to understand... The lots with a bunch of plastic stuff went for so much more - was it sheer volume? I don't think I'll be using auction houses to sell any time soon, if this is the service one gets! Thanks for sharing, every bit of knowledge helps!

    • @TheFunkyPickleThrifter
      @TheFunkyPickleThrifter  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jane, thanks for watching! I agree on the Disney watches, should've sold them on eBay for sure. I have sold lots of stuff at this place in the past, but it's always a risk to put items up for bid at an auction. Two or more people need to want it for the price to climb! I think the higher prices on other lots were sheer volume, and to be fair, a couple of my lots had crappy stuff haha. I did make over $1000 that night, so I try to focus on the bottom line. I sold a bit of real gold and some other vintage stuff (records, etc) that I didn't show in the video. Best of luck to you. CHEERS!!! Sandra.

      It was somewhat "uncool" to me -- even as a 5 year old! But, that's just me. Nothing against accordion players -- I actually love hearing accordions now. Thanks Mary!!!

    Hi there. Question? You had mentioned before in the title for a listing you write “not scrap” when selling gold , remind me why again please if possible

    • @TheFunkyPickleThrifter
      @TheFunkyPickleThrifter  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a bit of a "trick". Some gold buyers look for the word "scrap" in the title. So when I have a piece of jewelry that has nice gold weight -- I don't want to put the word "scrap" in the title, because somebody who wants the piece to wear or keep might think it's junky or well, "scrap" So... I put "not scrap", thereby flagging the gold buyers who may want it for melt or to put in the safe for the future -- at the same time though, making sure a buyer who wants to enjoy the piece doesn't think it's only "scrap". I hope that makes sense, it's a bit rambling. haha! Thanks

    I would not use that Auction House when they did not follow your instructions and obviously you are not getting what you should for your lots. What a disappointment !! I seriously MISS your Haul videos, they are my favorite, I love to see what you find at thrift stores and pawn shops. And I especially like to see the Hauls from your Mom. You state you are trying to reduce your inventory does that mean no more Haul videos???? Please say that is not so.
