My surgeon wanted to take the entire rib from front to back under my armpit. I am against that. Why did you opt not to do that

Thank you for this. Had my surgery 3 weeks ago. Can get my arm in the air and wash my hair but my neck and chest tightness is awful especially at night. Do you know when this goes away? I also had scalenectomy and pec minor work too.

I felt the tightness/friction for about 12-18 months after the surgery. I had a good amount of nerve sensitivity in the area 2 years out from the surgery (still don't like wearing necklaces bc of the nerves). I remember having muscle spasms for about a year after the surgery where my neck would tighten, but I have full range of motion now!

Thank you so much. I am now 6 months in and my neck pain and tightness has been awful to the point where it can make me feel like I am being choked. I still have the left seen swelling as the lymph scar tissue has been further irritated. I really hope it goes in time. I still can’t wear certain clothes due to the neck line and my scars are pretty big. It’s good to know I am not alone.

did you have it bilaterally? how are you today??

Hey! I do have it bilaterally but my right ride was significantly worse, so I've only had FRR surgery done on my right side. If my left side ever starts impacting my daily life I would do it on that side too. Today I am great! Still doing yoga and staying active. No more discomfort that I had before. :)
