Yikes…it seems there were women just like this in other countries too; there was a case in Victorian England (forgot her name but she was hanged) and I think there was a case in the 1800’s (?) US. So weird to think it was a legitimate job to be a professional child adopter 😮
My grandmother was five seconds from beeing handed over to one of theese "angel-makers" in Sweden. Her mother turned around after knocking at the gate.
