As a kid growing up in Gaston, In. I remember this well. I remember mostly the huge snow drifts that covered our house. My sister, neighbor kids and I would take our rolled up plastic sled to the roof of our house and slide down into the yard....fun times!

As a kid in Indianapolis, we could always count on snow. Starting as early as Thanksgiving and going all the way through February. And like was stated below, I miss it a ton.

I live ed in south central Illinois . I remember diving tunnel in snow. We lived 4 blocks from neighborhood market. My mom called in here order and bundled me up and I took my sled to get groceries. It was up hill to the market . Retuing home I sat on sled and held groceries and sledded home.

Now a days if we get 2 inches people freak out. LOL we missed 2 months because of the hills and hollers that no way anything could get in and out of. My mom divorced my dad and we moved to. Town, bloomington. We had snow piles from where they cleared the street and sidewalks that didnt melt til April. I would love to see it again in my lifetime but don't think I will.

I was a student at Butler and lived in a dorm. I remember the roads in Indy being bad for almost a couple of weeks. Then when the snow was gone the streets were riddled with potholes. Stayed in the dorm most all the time until I had to get out.

I was almost 6 in January of 78.. my sister's were 5 and 4. And 1 of my cousins was 3 or so. We lived in Cicero Indiana and the only things I remember is having to going to our neighbors house for some reason, I'm not sure why. And all 4 if us having chicken pox. And older kids making igloo's. I was so upset because I couldn't go outside and play in the igloo's.. damn chicken pox!!!!!

You actually see officers helping the public back then. Not now.
