We used to watch this DVD as kids and my buddy would say how flawless the show was. The night Dave put on a nice sweater and stood on a big expensive rug.
Yes rip. I hate flying but I will fly anyway. I would crank this song into my earbuds right before take off. It always helped. I love Dave. And his band. I’ve seen him so many times. In Philly. At the tweeter center but now it’s a bank name. I lost my son of 35yo 6/12/2021. He died in my arms. Cardiac arrest. It was the worst day of my life! Still is but I’m getting better. 35 years of life. And he was a great kid. Army combat medic. Musician played bass. But he could play anything he picked up. Dare I say he was not a big Dave fan. And now losing him I go deep into the lyrics of Dave. There are so many songs that address life is short. I love Boyd. Not just because he’s hot but he can play a mean violin. Stephan was was only 16 when he joined the band as a bassist. Etc. Love Dave! He’s a jam band. Not everyone gets it. Jam band is every one having their moment.
I just remember driving around in college, skipping so many tracks on this amazing CD just to hear this. I don't know why, it just gave me strength. I miss this version. They will live on for generations. What a rendition.
Same here!!!! 2001 era for me. I would drive through a nice downtown strip to this song when the piano solo came in around the 7:18 mark. I would do it after class 3x a week at night.
Exactly 2 years to the day before the Sept. 11 attacks. The world truly has not and will never be the same since 2001. 90s/2000 was a magical time we'll never get back again.
Carter Beauford riding that drumset at the end is quiet possibly the most incredible thing I've ever seen... if not, it's only bc one of his other solos were ever more mind blowing. What a beautiful gift to the world.😢 I love the DMB
The whole lead-up to that moment from 'this ship is troubled all because this ship we're on is sinking' is amazing. Brings me back time and again to listen
Among all of the greats, he's one of the only ones still alive now that more recently others like Ginger Baker and Neil Peart have now passed on. Keep going Carter! 🥁
It was the summer of 1999, I was 15 and my mom sent me on a teen group trip to Israel… I had just fallen hard for my first love about a month before and really didn’t want to leave him. When I hear this song, I remember sitting on the bus, driving through the country, so far from home and feeling so homesick… but I had my little blue disc man with my Dave Matthews CD (Crash) playing on constant rotation, Two Step in particular… this song got me through that formative summer. I can’t describe how hearing it brings me back… it will forever be my favorite DMB song (next to Warehouse & #41) 💙
I understand what you mean wholeheartedly. The music we listen to during those formative years really does shape a part of us, doesn't it? This song in particular reminds me so much of those feelings I once had... It's crazy, huh? I absolutely love this song and it does indeed have a very special place in my heart as well. ❤❤❤ My ex husband and I saw Dave in concert not long ago. They were so amazingly great. Sadly, they didn't play Two Step, but made up for it with all the other songs they did play. It was beautiful. I enjoyed your comment bc I know exactly what you mean and I think you've done a great job trying to explain that particular feeling. Anyway, have an awesome day. 😊

You can feel the joy of DMB. Dave's fist pump sums it up and Carter with his bubble gum and OMG actual musicians actually playing...a rarity these days. I love this song.
I heard this live on this tour and took my mom too see him. This came on and we smoked we laughed and too this day it's one of my best memories with my mom.
During my touring days I noticed a couple of our responses to this wonderful song. We'd take it seriously like you and your mom did and enjoy to the nth extent or we'd use it as a 20-minute break. I always loved when we'd make the most of it like you did. I like to dance like crazy so this song is perfect for that!
Man I remember listenting to this song on repeat during my last 4 months of deployment back in 2012. Got me through it. Very ominous, yet uplifting song.
I grew up about 15 minutes from Deer Creek, and have seen them at least 10 times there. I can't imagine seeing them inside. Seems like it would be a completely different experience.
I've seen over 50 DMB shows over the past 20+ years and have loved them all. That said, this line up was always my favorite. Butch, the lovely ladies, and the original members. IMHO it was the best and most well rounded sound. I like this current line up as well, just in a different way. I like Tim, and the others in this summers group, but this was a special group of talent.....
@Patrick Brewer agreed. breathtaking event. i just love how they put so much energy and love into every show. they make every night of a tour feel so important. seeing them in 10 days in Philly and im so fucking excited.

Great version!! They are young and youth makes the song so much more intense. Still great when they get a little older but the music will never have the same angst and intensity as ‘96-02 era of Dave

Righhtttttt ? I always am telling people “listen to the freakin keyboard in this song” - most ppl look at me weird , nice to know others r out there ! :) happy holidays
The way that dave pumps his fist at carter is the reaction ive alyways wanted to have in any band ive been a part of. Its shows how much of a holistic band leader dave is and how much respect he has for carter

Boyd Tinsley's mandolin-esque strums on his violin to open the song, this can never be replaced. Even Dave borrowing his acoustic riff from his live acoustic duets with Tim Reynolds, and inserting that into the original full band version of the song. All of that doesn't do it justice for me personally! Miss you Boyd. 👎💔🎻

Flawless if you watch can c Carter drop his drum stick but never dropped the beat
I am absolutely obsessed with DMB … I cry everytime … gives me the chills
You may need some therapy other than music if that's the case lol.
@@Randomhero3lol maybe but I'm the same way. It's just an overflow of nostalgia and good music.
