Speaking as someone who lives in Pacific northwest, I like your covering this. Here a story about the thunderbird of the tribes live near me. One time thunderbird was catching a giant whale monster, but the giant whale slip out the bird's talons. It cause a huge tsumai and even a earthquake. This a mythological representation of "the big ones", which are big earthquakes in the Pacific northwest coast that can appear every 300-400 years. The last one happen in 1700 and it was so powerful that it was felt in Japan.
Ya know how I end every episode with "did I leave out something you thought was important?" This. This right here is why I say that. I love hearing about stuff like this. Thank you.
My favorite depiction of the Thunderbird in anything is in the Netflix series "Hilda" where he's a size-shifting raven that can shoot lightning. As for the SMT design... it's okay. I wish it looked more like it was part of a totem pole instead of a robot, regardless of the "Thunderbirds Are Go!" inspiration.
I just got Thunderbird a while ago in reload and he's really not that bad of a demon/persona. Though every time I think of the word Thunderbird I always think of 2 things 1 that's not so good movie that was a reboot of the old movie that was I've action and it was terrible and 2 when someone called me Johnny was playing Zelda 2 he mentioned Thunderbird as an annoying final boss fight which led to him bringing up the show with puppets lol. That thing will always have a special place in my heart.
I love me some NA folklore, and I love me some niche puppetry. But I gotta say, the Thunderbird's design just doesn't do it for me. Lots of mythological beings have popular media around them, but I don't think you should base that as its core design. It's a big bird with lightning powers, that should be enough of a draw without turning it into a spaceship.
This is just an idea I had but an interesting video topic could be about what tarot arcana newer SMT demons would be in, like the new demons from SMT4, SMT4:A, Strange Journey REDUX and SMT5, some are pretty obvious like Zeus in the Emperor arcana or Cleopatra in the Lovers arcana but others are trickier like Loup Garou or Anahita, alternatively a video about which newer demons you would like to appear in the next persona game
I have an idea that you could do. You can talk about the demon models in 3D Megaten games, its history from NINE to the present, and why so many P5 demons are appearing a lot in modern Megaten games (which replaced many demons/personas in P3R). I am very curious about it.
I also don't really get the electric cryptid thing in Persona 5. In Kamoshida's palace, the shadows had a pretty good theme going on. You could imagine the Jack-o-Lanterns being little magicians in the dungeons, Silkies being housemaids around the castle, they all had a theme of "Arthurian/celtic" setting, and of course lust. Same goes for Futaba's pallace, which stuck to being egyptian But Okumura's pallace doesn't seem that well thought out....? there aren't many "Sci-fi" demons, but most shadows just seem to be there because "It's shaped like a star and we're in space". but why are Mothman and Thunderbird there?

NGL That Moai battery design goes hard, it should be brought back for something
Maybe as a design for a Polynesian thunder god like Tāwhirimātea
True. Though maybe that was it what is going to be before becoming Thunderbird.

I think loup-garou will be in the hanged arcana and anahita being the priestess arcana would be befitting.
I always enjoy these videos, keep up the good work.

Thunderbird straight up looks like a chrome crossbow to me. I think I prefer to moai head battery design a lot better! *lol*
What's the word thunder bird.
Can you talk about ippon datura one of these days.

@Strain42 What's the name of the song that starts at 2:22? I love it!
I don’t remember the exact name of the track, but it’s the negotiation music from Raidou Kuzunoha vs King Abaddon
I always enjoy these videos, keep up the good work.
Thank you very much! I appreciate that!
