At least you have some pretty cool tunes as you herniate yourself on down the trail. Seriously, appreciate the video. Haven't yet needed to tow but I keep a strap onboard just in case (because we're optimists). You answered some questions, some things may seem obvious but it's good to remind and reinforce. Such as, that really should be obvious but since it's out of sight under the cowl, remove the drive belt or at least open the sheaves on the stricken sled. Kind of a "duh," but I can imagine overlooking it, at least for the first hundred yards or so, so it's great you mention it. Great video. Thanks
If you have an old sled with metal skis you hook to the ski hoops and the sled follows you and the rider can ride on back giving more traction on trail and if you keep strap short towed sled can use towing sled to brake. You can also carry one of the old plastic roll up sleds with holes drilled in each side and place it uner track with bungee cords to hold it in place and dead sled pulls very easy even by hand. I have pulled many sleds out of woods by hand using the plastic sled trick.
wow. to think I've been doing it wrong since 1971! we just took 2 ropes tied one to each spindle then pulled it up as tight as we could then tied of each rope to the rear of the running boards. this always had the dead machine just go where we wanted it to with no rider on the back. going up and down the wasatch mountains in fluffy snow, the back skis would work in unison with the front track's for flotation and wouldn't dig in. but things change I guess😥
@@nathanhodge7927 we would love to make a video on that, but Unfortunately the 2 arctic cat xf8000 highcountry got sold the only one we have in the group is 2019 xf8000 with tether already installed.

excellent advise.
At 1:08, "SNOWMACHINE" the proper name for these motorized beasts, gotta love it!
You passed over removal of the belt from the clutch as if it were a mirror afterthought. It is the most critical part of towing in a sled
so many dingbats too little time lol
Its amazing to me that no one has designed and maketed a.standard strap on ski for under the track..
wow.

Sorry we meant to say that you put the strap around the spindles and not the Arms. You guys and gals are smart! and know what we meant.
I’ve had to tow guys where we had to open the chain case because the chain broke and jammed the track sprocket.
Why you don’t buy Arctic cat
Unfortunately any brand can break down at anytime. So it's good to be prepared.
Just joke 3Sixty North
3sixty north. Can you make video on tether install on that sled?
