- A couple of months ago I figured instead of wasting my time on the weekend I should try my hand at working in the bike industry. The good people at CCACHE have very nicely let me work there occasionally on the weekend. In this video I talk a bit about what my day to day looks like and what I get up to. I really enjoy my job at CCACHE and I hope this gives you a good idea of what working at a bike shop looks like. I'm no good on the tools so no mechanic work from me, but maybe one day...

After watching his video on chain waxing, i decided to give it a go. So I go off to one of my favourite bike shops to buy some wax and new chains…. To my surprise, look who serves me with my order…. The same guy who convinced me to go wax.
Thanks Josh. It was a pleasure to meet you.
Haha fantastic to meet you Noel! Always lovely to meet the people who watch my videos.
All the best, may your components last longer, your drive chain be cleaner and your riding be faster/funner!
The warehouse definitely needs more workers. I need to stop online shopping.
Saturday shift is more to help people who come in or are picking up existing orders. During the week there’s heaps more people working and they have people dedicated to picking/packing.
cool job. I'd like to do that too, but not many opportunities. The Melb store is tiny in comparison.
Great to hear that you have met Fordy from TDC, he is doing a 8 day gravel tour across Victoria from Mildura to Cape Otway with a bunch of mates. Something you probably would enjoy doing at some stage ;)
Inspiring undertaking
Hey Josh! Love the content. Thanks for sharing! CCACHE is a place I order from! Wonder if you’ve packed any of my stuff to WA! Lol. Lee the content up! I’m behind my content as I’ve been busy travelling for work!
Thanks mate! Great to hear. Haha I see many of my friends orders all the time so I wouldn’t be surprised if I see yours too.
I’m loving the Singapore and malaysia content, have a safe and fun time there!!
Epic, hope the discounts are good too haha
New bike day? 😉
My boy👍🏻

Hi Josh; Originally attracted to Your Channel for the Pastries and sights along the way to get them🙂 Two questions - What are the top 5 Pastries Shops (when riding) You & mates visit? and would You recommend Sydney to an overseas road bike tourist? On the surface (footage from Your videos) Sydney looks tricky (traffic, city / street layout, etc) 🤔Thanks in advance😎
My top 5 off the top of my head:
1. Rollers (Manly)
2. Layers (St Leonards)
3. Home (Balmain?)
4. Buttercrumbs (5 dock and Ultimo)
5. Tenacious (City)
There’s plenty of food and safe places to ride in Sydney but the routes are not super straight forward. I recommend researching the route beforehand or finding a local club who you can ride with. Safety in numbers!
All the best
@@joshkwan Thanks SO Much Josh for the Pastries List (most important) - Will have to do more research about Road Riding in Sydney before I decide to plan a stop there.
I'll go back & rewatch some of Your rides as part of that research.
Forgot to comment on Your CCache episode - wow, big enterprise - interesting chance to interact with other cyclists.
Looking forward to the new Madone🙂.
Thanks again😎
Watch out, Josh is going to be getting staff perks / discounts on cycle gear 😉🚴😉
It’s quite dangerous. I’m eyeing a few nice looking components 🙃
@@joshkwan Go for it mate, you deserve it 👌🏻
Got something coming very soon. (Maybe an even newer bike)
Keep posted ;)
Wow, new whip already! It looks sooooo neat! What did you do with your old bike?
I bought my wax from ccache. I might have received it sooner if you were working there then haha. :) Looks like the perfect place for you. I can hear your wallet crying though...
Haha I’ll reveal all very soon, but I’ll be building a new bike quite soon 😏
Super fun place to work but man, so tempted to buy nice looking stuff
I’m planning to go for a ride tomorrow actually
Have a fun and safe ride
So sick. I love ccache so much I order from them to the US lol
Don’t blame you! Your dollar ain’t too bad either
@@joshkwan lol facts that makes the shipping worth it
Hi Josh! Your colleague we see in the video applying chain lube.... He'd be better off having it cross chained to allow the lube to penetrate the rollers and pins. It's not obvious or intuitive as most people just think 'put oil on chain' but really the object is to get as much 'in' the chain as possible.
Gotcha, so when the chain is under the most tension that will allow the most amount of lube into the pins.
@@joshkwan good point but not exactly. As it goes the derailleur should maintain a fair constant tension whatever. Big to big or small to small. It ought to be crosschained so it's bent sideways. That way the lube has an easier path flowing down between the plates and the rollers, then into the space between the rollers and the pins. Like leaving a door very slightly open instead of closed! It's more important with thicker wax based lubes but relevant to others too I suppose.
Cheers mate, thanks for the explanation
Mate ride on the footpath around areas like that. I reckon it’s even better)
most important question. What did you get for lunch
Chicken shawarma wrap with chips
As always extra garlic sauce
Hi Josh, you guys carry Engine 11 as well? Thanks.
Yea I believe so, but please look at the website for availability and sizing.
Is that an aero handle bar on your lap? ahha
yes :)
Tell them to check their online messaging system. I've sent a message twice and it stays unread.
My question is about those Aerover handlebars you showed
Hope they sort you out soon mate.
I’m quite keen to buy a set of the bars too, they look pretty sexy 😋
Do you guys have Kask Valegro white? 😁
Yes
@@joshkwan can i order? 🫣
How to order tho? 😁
