I'd love to use 5G, but it uses millimetre waves unlike 4G and these millimetre waves are so small that its almost impossible for it to pass through solid objects. I don't know about you, but I'm not always going to be standing outside holding up my phone up to be able to use my SIM carrier network.
If I would be living in an area that has 5G coverage, I would definitely want to change for a smartphone which supports 5G. However this is not the case, so I don't need a 5G phone.
Yes, 5G is more efficient, and there a couple reasons why you get your 5G device heat up. One would be the frequent switching between 4G and 5G and trying to maintain a 5G connection where there isn't great 5G coverage, and another is that 5G supports much higher data speeds and throughput, requiring more intensive processing per time, and more processing as you know, would definitely result in warmer devices. This doesn't contradict my claim. It's just other factors. Thanks for watching man.
I have the same observation. I use an iphone 12 mini as my main device and a first gen SE as my backup. I usually go out and leave the data turned on and I can feel the mini heats up inside my pocket that I turn it off or change the settings to LTE only.
Instead of a 5g smartphone just get a 5g router such as starlink or MTN so as not to burden your phone with the heavy tasks of 5g as it really heats up devices such as mine as 5g is not yet stable and might take a few years before we get there
These are sensible and logical points to keep in mind. 5G is not rolled out where I live (not even 4.5G). So I will hold of from buying for the time being. Thank you for your effort and keep making content like this.
Oscarmini you really educated me with this video, getting 5g phone is actually my target before now because I'm seeing 4g network right now like 2g network, I really need speed signal because I download full movies everyday.
oscar, I'm not clear with one thing. can you mention one of the powerful 4g SOC (CHIPSET)? Mediatech G99 or what? to the best of my knowledge, all the powerful chipsets are 5g. most of the 4g SOCs don't have enough processing power and therefore struggles to multitask which i do a lot on my phone. I also do stream and download videos a lot but i still use 4g since 5g is virtually not in existence in my country Ghana
Hello Ibrahim, If 5G isn't a priority, you'll definitely get more value with some 4G devices. For example, the A15 4G offers better value for money and arguably better performance than its 5G version. Also, the S10 outperforms the A32 5G in both performance and camera quality for the same price. Thanks for stopping by man.
@oscarmini yes I agree with you. Most of the old flagships outperform the current midrange phones in both rom and camera performance. I've used note 20 ultra for the past three years and I upgraded to the s23 ultra in April this year. Thank you.
I got it turned off in my iPhone 13 PM since it drains more battery than LTE, and the 5G coverage in my country isn't good so theres no point in turning it on
hi @Oscarmini, exellent video! it was very informative and interesting. I just saw your video on samsung a55 vs a54. until now i used samsung a12 but it got wet and is not working anymore - so i am debating between the a55 and the a54. both are an upgrade, but can I ask what are your thoughts on this? which phone do you think is better and which one do you think i should get? both are between my budget but there is still a diffrences (~15-45 dollars diffrence)
Hi please I hope I get a reply... I have itel A70 Awesome and can't take good pictures with it so I want to get another good budget phone but I'm stuck between Xiaomi Redmi 13c and galaxy A05 please help me choose one please
Oscarmini, you are just too safe in your analysis. I don't really know who or what you are scared of. Well, I think 5G is not yet advanced in Nigeria as a whole. But, maybe in five to seven years from now, 5G will become stable. The irony is that 4G is still way faster than 5G in many areas across the country (Nigeria). Some devices tend to stretch their bandwidth (HSPA, LTE, 5G) limit in order to get the best of 5G in struggling areas, thereby overheating the device(s). If 5G is this slow in application and implementation, I wonder who 6G implementation will be like?
Thanks for stopping by. Also, I'd really love your genuine feedback so as to make better videos subsequently. What do you mean when you say, "you are just too safe in your analysis"? I'd appreciate some clarity and pointers. Thanks.
@unefosa 5G isn't slow, that is your country/area's problem, did you listen when he mentioned 3 countries where 5G is the fastest? 4G speed can't be compared to that of 5G in areas where you have real 5G speed. The 5G speed in your country is very slow and will be improved with time
@@IsaacPeters_ sure, that's my point. But that progress will be 5 to 7 years time in Nigeria. Although there are few areas in Nigeria where 5G is fast but Nigeria is still crawling in 5G speed connectivity.
@@oscarmini okay, when analyzing data of some companies/firms that provides certain service(s) as a reviewer or analyst, there are certain remark(s) that should be directed to the companies/firms involved. These remarks were lacking in your review. Maybe for the avoidance litigation or any other for argy-bargy.
Smart cities isn't healthy as 5G kills plants and as such no plants in any smart cities. 5G isn't worth the hype when service providers throttle it 5G chipset drains battery depending on the chipset and 5G normally drains battery and of 2020 a standard recommendation was made that 5G phone should have at least 4500mah cause of how it drains battery. But dimensity doesn't drain battery like snapdragon which makes it a better choice for 5G
Of course, if you have no need for the extra speed, there isn't a whole lot reason to splurge on a 5G modem smartphone, except you have the means to. Thanks for watching man.
What's right for you? 5G or Nah. 🤔
Nah

I actually observed 5g drains more battery and heats up my device faster, kinda exact opposite of your claims though. Nice review

It makes phones heat up. WiFi is the best, phone doesn't heat up and throttle less@@oscarmini

This is actually a great solution.
Thanks man you have really changed my perspective about 5g..now i'm gonna buy a 4g smart phone
Nice review bro, 5g is better, but right now in Nigeria I don't really see the need for 5g.
Hello from Sénégal 😊 we have 5 G here but obviously uses more battery n heats up devices more 😂
These are sensible and logical points to keep in mind. 5G is not rolled out where I live (not even 4.5G). So I will hold of from buying for the time being. Thank you for your effort and keep making content like this.

5G but we don't have dat much wide coverage yet in Nigeria. So, what's the essence?
What 5g devices would u recommend for every day use?
Not after expensive stuff.
I have a Samsung A52 5g that I bought in Malaysia. I have never used the 5g. Now I live in Indonesia so I bet I never need the 5g

I have a 5G smartphone, but 5G coverage here in South Africa is not complete at present.
I do benefit from WiFi 6e so that's OK.
I got it turned off in my iPhone 13 PM since it drains more battery than LTE, and the 5G coverage in my country isn't good so theres no point in turning it on

A25 for the mmorpg "Tarisland" W or L? I really want to know
Well-done Oscar👏👏...I think I'm more of a streamer but I play games sometimes.
Thanks man.
I'm using 5g it's great but too much data consumption
To whom much is given, much is expected. Right? 😂
Is 5g actually available in All States here in Nigeria?
No, not nationwide
Is Galaxy c55 in Nigeria?
Hi please I hope I get a reply... I have itel A70 Awesome and can't take good pictures with it so I want to get another good budget phone but I'm stuck between Xiaomi Redmi 13c and galaxy A05 please help me choose one please
How Much did u get the Item A70?
Hey bro, should I get a34 as my first phone? Or else can you recommend me one
Same here someone should tell me which phone to buy a35 or 73
I didn't see different between 5g and 4g .
My 2 phone is 5g A55 and redmi note 13 pro 5g. No difference between 4g and 5g
I'm curious, do you get 5G coverage on the Redmi?
How about only social media I use my phone. Is 4g still good this era and the speed of 4g is fine for social media like Facebook and TH-cam?
5G is good enough for those activities mentioned.
@@oscarmini I see ok. Mean for us still using 4g phone still no problem? And not to be fomo or get hype on 5g?
Better question is do you have any problem using 4G for social media.
There is your answer 😊
In Nigeria? No. My phone is 5g, I use MTN but I just use it on 4g no big difference plus 5g uses more battery on my phone
Very informative and educative video!
Thank you 👍
Thanks for watching. 🙏
If you need to download a movie in 45seconds and you somehow have perfect signal then 5g might be a good option😂😂😂
It’s definately faster in the download process

5g is crazy fast. It also drains data and makes the phone hot 😢 faster
Na wetin I dey find like this 😂😂😂
Nice video
Legends like us do both gaming and streaming 😅
If you’re a steady gamer, you def. need 5G. If you can, get a 5G router if not a phone.
Wow. This video was very educative and interesting fr 🌟
Glad you think so! Thanks for watching.
Do I really need a 5g phone? Not really but I still went ahead to purchase one.
Hahahah! That's a flex 🙌
Cuidate ❤
My old android 4g phone has more power than my 5g new phone
I just Find this video standing out ,better than mrwhosetheboss
