Geras is such a cool character. I gotta hand it to NRS, MK1 has the best gameplay, I've never liked so many characters. Only characters that are boring are: Mileena, and Scorpion, Mileena is braindead easy and has no gameplan other than 12 with low hat. That character is mainly the Kameo for mix. Sindel, Kenshi, Rain and Geras have high execution built in. Sindels flight cancels and hairball cancels. She doesn't have 50/50's like other characters, she can use Lao but her Overhead is from doing B2 mid that puts her airborne into float into EX hairball into flight cancel into JIP/float into JIP. You time the JIP after all the cancels to hit 3 frames before or after low hat hits or it autoblocks your mix cuz of the HTB protection in MK1, now compared to characters like Mileena who just does low hat hold into 12 all day long timing it before or after so its a legit HTB mix they have to guess which way to block first and fuzzy the second, thats her gameplan, she gets in for free on reaction with teleport/roll and Lao hat makes it safe, effective but boring. Rain has reactable 50/50's that are not safe. His F21 mid into low has a armor gap and F32 overheads are very slow 28f thats 10f more than Geras's overhead 10f slower than what this Geras guide says is reactable. He has Jump Cancel combos and Setups requiring you to Cancel the recovery frames of his EXDB1 by inputting a jump in input at same time as another special and inputting Kameo call to be able to catch them in combo with a fully charged water beam which is 84 frames startup + travel time. He also has Water beam cancels you have to use with kameo so input both at the same time to extend combos with Stryker/Kano. Jax is used for Kara Jump Cancels. Its heavy execution. Jenshi and Geras are obvious why they are higher execution/harder to master and use at a high level. Geras looks like a great character to pick up. Tick throws are mad strong and the timed sandstorm sets them up as well.

I agree with everything you said, I’m having a very hard time mastering Geras. Keep losing to scrubs online
