These continuing tutorials by Jason and Jim are invaluable. Their integrity and know how will keep people making it from point A to point B with pleasing certainty. Thx guys. One more point of interest, R2.8 anywhere in the future?

I used to have a 67 Olds tornado two door deluxe hardtop. I loved it, 425 W 30 engine it would run, it weighed 5800 lbs wich was heavy for a sedan, but I could never find the wheel bearings for the front !!! But the transmission was a 425 trans axle with two stage variable pitch torque converter, it never gave me any other problems had tons of torque and acceleration etc, got 17.2 MPG on the average !!!
Since the GMC motorhome has the same front end how is it for front wheel bearings, drive chain between the torque converter and drive sprockets, ECT, if you ever rebuild the transmission use the Borg Warner clutches (bakelite friction material not compressed paper there junk) so how did they last in the motorhomes ??? And the 455 needs a duel exhaust to really perform etc any info you can give me would be nice, I've always been curious about the GMC motorhome stuff.
Thank you and good video all the best to you and yours Sir.

Well Jason I think answered my question. I thougt i blew the wheel bearings and replaced both sides (took months) took it for a drive got about a mile and grind grind grind.
when I got it home i noticed transmission fluid on the drivers side of the final drive ( that would mean the transmission seal has gone)

Pulling my Revcon out of storage in a few weeks and will change the front diff oil right away. Thanks for the info. I’ll check what gear ratio I have while it’s open. It’s been in storage for 15 years and I can’t wait to see if the Olds 455 will lite up.

I miss the heyday of GM when engineering still ruled.

I’m sticking one of these transmissions behind 1200hp LS in a 2700 pound car.

My '77 403 is an absolute pig. As soon as I can swing it, I'm going with the 3.70's.
