Amazing how many members over the years left Quick Silver and started there own bands. All were and still are top notch. Seamed Doyle was a training ground for future Blue Grass bands.
@@waynesworldofmandolin3616 no doubt man. I mean there was nobody at this time who had THIS drive and THESE vocals. Johnson Mountain Boys were real popular at this time too in my opinion for that same reason
I love this band too! I'm so blessed to have worked with all these guys except Doyle after this virsion of Quicksilver broke up. It sure brings back great memories when I hear these guys together. Thx for the comment!
I was at that festival! in fact I have this show on an old vhs tape! this was the first time I heard of Scott Vestal and being a banjo player myself met with him and talked banjo all weekend lol
I met Scott in that same season. As an 11th grade high school kid. He and Russell and myself used jam in the campground at the Denton North Carolina bluegrass festival. The good ole days.....

Yep. There's a lot to be learned from Doyle Lawson's music....
Masterclass in dynamics!
👍
One of the best Quicksilver bands! Doyle and Russells voices sound so good together
I couldn't agree more. Classic....
What a group of players. Great treatment of a fantastic song!

The best bluegrass lineup since Flatt and Scruggs. And still unmatched until this day!

Absolute best!
What a great video, thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Miss this festival!
Me too pal....
cool!
😁
I believe this is the youngest Russell and Ray I've ever watched. Doyle knew how to pick them didn't he.
They certainly were young (especially Russell). Doyle Lawson new exactly what he wanted and exactly who he needed to get the job done!
I recognize the 3 men at the start of the video.
Yep. Weren't those great days? I miss the late 80s and especially early 90s.....
