  • Howdy TH-cam pals! Hope you enjoy Wayne's World of Mandolin and visit the channel often. I found this rare video and thought it would be nice to share. This is a classic version of Quicksilver that I always loved......

Amazing how many members over the years left Quick Silver and started there own bands. All were and still are top notch. Seamed Doyle was a training ground for future Blue Grass bands.

One of my favorites too. All of those early versions of the band had a lot to offer....

@@waynesworldofmandolin3616 no doubt man. I mean there was nobody at this time who had THIS drive and THESE vocals. Johnson Mountain Boys were real popular at this time too in my opinion for that same reason

The best bluegrass lineup since Flatt and Scruggs. And still unmatched until this day!

I love this band too! I'm so blessed to have worked with all these guys except Doyle after this virsion of Quicksilver broke up. It sure brings back great memories when I hear these guys together. Thx for the comment!

I met Scott in that same season. As an 11th grade high school kid. He and Russell and myself used jam in the campground at the Denton North Carolina bluegrass festival. The good ole days.....

I believe this is the youngest Russell and Ray I've ever watched. Doyle knew how to pick them didn't he.

They certainly were young (especially Russell). Doyle Lawson new exactly what he wanted and exactly who he needed to get the job done!

If you want an example of how to get the most music out of a 4 piece bluegrass band I don’t think anyone could do it better than DL&Q in the 80’s.
