I was a freshman WD running some plays. I caught a 5 yard stop, and tried to juke out the DB. I was pretty much standing stationary. My friend who was a 200 pound linebacker (I was probably around 120) read the play and ran full speed into my blind side. I kid you not, I was hit so hard I launched 5 yards backwards while doing and side flip. Everyone thought I was dead.

This is why college football needs two tier targeting calls. Intentional calls should result in disqualification for the remainder of the current game, and the next. Unintentional contact should not serve the same penalty as most of these hits.

These new targeting rules are ruining college football. If you ever play football, just lower your head if you have the ball. You'll get the other player ejected plus a first down plus yardage.
Because the CTE is killiing football players. If you notice, the hard hits without the crown of the helmet mostly leave the player able to get up right away. The crown of the helmet hits cause concussions (and CTE) and leave the player out cold. Which is why rules are in place to punish that behavior (using the crown of the helmet as a weapon).
@@stonefly69 I think they're referring to when a ball carrier lowers his head into the tackle and the defender has no chance of evading the tackle, the defender still gets in trouble for it.
